  3. if we penalised people for their sense of humour, i would serving a life sentence ..would rather see a few jokes than the constant sniping at players who can't play like Messi every week...some cracks work and some don't but at least SD holds his hands up at a misfire and is able to put up with our merry quips on various aspects of his life... the vast majority of his posts make sense and he doesn't deliberately set out to offend people, so keep on trucking (or whatever current phrase is)

  4. If Fry moves to Burnley he will 100% ruin his career for the next 3 years. I mean, look at Gibson who played in my opinion at a higher standard than Fry and more consistently as well, who didnt even get a sniff in the Burnley first team. I dont think Fry is currently as good as Gibson so moving would make 0 sense to him. Unless hes about the money, which I dont think he is.

  5. This day on the 19th January 1985 Boro drew 0-0 at home to Portsmouth in front of 4,622 fans & the introduction of Boro's 3rd loaned player, our 1st outfield loaned player, No543 registered Boro player & the 5th player to wear the No2 that season up to his debut John Kay, on loan from Wimbledon, made his 2nd appearence for the mighty Boro, his home debut & the same result of his debut the previous week in a 0-0 draw at Wolves John Kay went on to make 8 appearences for the Boro, drawing 4 & losing 4 Willie Maddrens team Kelham O'Hanlon John Kay

  6. Give me tried and tested, with an affinity to the club over a potential which has yet to bear fruit. If the club could get him for a decent price he's worth a go but not over Gibson

  8. No ben costs 6 but they owe us 4.3 so he costs us 1.7m, if I understand right.

  10. Good words said. I agree SD made an error in judgement and I have no doubt at all there was no intent to offend. Unfortunately we live in a fragile environment with trigger happy intolerant snowflakes, therefore our choice of action and words need careful consideration. SD was good enough to apologize and we should all accept closure and move on.

  11. Ayala & Gibson surely one of the best ever Championship centre-half pairings... if they can even get close to their old form, that'll be very exciting.

  15. It was a weird joke mate, I’m not sure anyone really associated the ran ragged comment with a rag doll, it just didn’t work as a joke and I hope that you were severely reprimanded for that! A lot of people on this forum don’t have time for humour of any sort, let alone bad humour. You need to polish up your act a bit before you make a fool of yourself 😃

  17. 6mil buys you Ben apparently... pretty sure this will happen. Not sure we sell Fry though as Woody sees him as the next leader at the back.

  18. i do find it amusing that less than 5 months ago that the general consensus on this board was not a penny less than £20m for Fry. I believe the bench mark we used was the fee Brighton paid for Bristol Citys Webster. However fast forward just 5 months and some of our fans are now happy to take half of that (some would probably take less than half). Dael Fry certainly has not set the standards he previously set but there are a number of factors contributing towards that. However, in the last few weeks his performances have improved and i for one hope he stays and continues to improve. And w

  19. We will win if Woody has realized we need to push up 15 yards and shut down the opposition midfield. The team works in unity. Now in the last two games we only played the second half so the team should be fresh enough. I don’t see any reason why heads should drop because, they came out in the second halves with intent, which indicates belief and commitment and neither score line was embarrassing. I am expecting they will bounce back and up the anti.

  22. TBH I dont go off the logic that X team would not let X player go if he that good. Therefore he cant be all that. That logic could have been applied to Randolph when we signed him but he turned out to be just fine.

  24. Sorry, to be clear, the breach of rules is that the EFL signed off on accounts for Derby that included the sale of a fixed asset (the stadium) at an inflated value. ....and off course, the fact that the Derby owner is a senior member of the EFL board is of concern. So yes, it is the EFL we are suing for not applying their rules.

  25. This is feeling i get too if am perfectly. Not sure how rivalry between fans as suddenly developed in to animosity at board level. We seem to get on fine during the Ban Gibson transanction

  26. Oh. I see. So they willing to take a 9m hit on him. I thought the 6m fee for Gibson was similar to how we accepted 4m for Randolph based on WHU writing off the £1.2m we owe them so in short he went for £5.2m. If he going for £6m minus the £4.3m then that is a great deal.

  28. All I can say is £8m plus add on was not even going to be considered

  29. Do you know how much they still owe? He’s only been there for 18 months, and in a 15 million deal I’d guess and say about 6 mil. So if we top that with 1.7 it’s a fairly big deal for us. Unless they’ve already paid a lot up front to begin with.

  30. I don't think we will accept, but even if we did, I think Fry would reject it. Why would he go there to be back up? He's seen from Gibbo what that does to your career. He might as well stick with us and play for the next 12 months and get experience, then see who is interested

  31. Why? I don't think we've seen enough of Nmecha or utilised his pace. I want to see more of what he can do, otherwise what was the point in loaning him? I suppose resting Tav and seeing what Nmecha and Roberts can do together is a good option as well, like!

  35. Just watched that press interview clip there, its very poor regardless of the excuse made that maybe he was trying to stand up to a reporter. It comes across very badly and I agree it makes him look petulant and arrogant.

  36. Keep polishing. ....... You’ll get there in the end..... My sense of humour is even odder than yours, evidently! Glad to know your not a racist, there’s only one gentlemen on here who enjoys a bit of old fashioned racism, but he’s very old fashioned

  38. I got a warning, cause my joke could be interpreted in a way it never was meant to. I am not a racist in anyway though, actually I have written songs about tolerance and anti-racism/fascism 😎 IT was just a bad joke on play of words, that some People would misunderstand and that's fair enough. Just as long as you know I'm not like that.

  39. Ha. Imagine if we get Gibson back for 6 mil. We will have made 9 million from and 18 month loan. Best deal in ages

  42. Webster wasn't a standout for me he was a bang average Championship level CB and still is, he's maybe a slightly better Nathan Baker but nothing more, the comparison for Fry is Konsa who's a similar age and he went for 15 million right? He had a rick in him at Brentford and has struggled at Villa to step up he wasn't a standout CB, I've seen Sol Bamba and Jansson be 'standout' CBs recently as well they're about as average as it gets this league is in general very subpar with defenders so when the Konsa's/Fry's come through with unique attributes and young even if still a little raw they comman

  44. Giving up on a young player after one costly mistake sounds like horrible player management.

  45. because he has legs and can actually get up and down the pitch unlike wing and clayton. hes neat and tidy and does shoot when getting into position, although never hadly scores like. look at the difference young energetic wingbacks have made. put mre energy into the middle to and we will see the difference.

  46. I've not seen the Birmingham interview that may have turned him against her, but I think Woodgate just comes across like a bellend there. Made worse by the fact it's on national tv. I couldn't believe it took so long to bring on Fletcher either, fair enough if the game was out of sight but it was still 1-0 and Gestede was completely useless all game. As superior as Fulham were, we could have stolen a point if his management had been more proactive.

  47. We got beat 1-0 away by one of the best teams in the division in our fifth game in eighteen days and fielding a team full of rookies, fringe players, midfielders playing in defence and still managed to hold our own for a decent portion of the game...I think everybody has the right to their own opinion, but some people just seem to want any excuse to criticise. We are very much a work in progress and when most of your best players are inexperienced, they are going to have off days....I remember Pallister being awful in some games, Davey Mills missing sitters and any number of kids being given t

Hackney hasn't been in the squad the last two games after making a fleeting appearance on the bench a couple of weeks ago. He's not ready to start a game. I think it'll be mcnair in for ayling like you say but I reckon vdb starts at right back like early on in the season. The rest will be unchanged but with greenwood in for silvera.

If Dijksteel does not start this, then the writing really is on the wall for him, if its jot already anyway. I actually don't think he will start. I think Paddy will come in and we will change to a wing back system with Jones and Engel - which will say a lot about what MC thinks of Dijksteel in not trusting him at RB or as a 3rd CB (he played his best football there for us) Also would not be surprised to see Hackney replace Greenwood and plsy in an advanced role but rather Silveria or Gilbert there: Dieng Paddy VDB Clarke Jones Howson O'Brien Engel Silveria LL Azaz
