  1. I think I'm with you on this. It may have been awful "anti-football" but at least we were organised and not easy to beat. The way we play now, its like someone gave a bunch of random strangers Boro kits and said, "go have a kickabout".

  4. Not that any of us really expected any of them (barring possibly Stojanovic) to play tonight, but he, Friend and Shotton all played in a 1-1 friendly draw with Celtic this afternoon, so that would rule them out of being involved at all. I thought there may be an outside chance Shotton could make the bench as a way to change things around if we needed to, but not massively surprised.

  5. If Assombalonga is picked or used tonight I just hope he takes his chances been such a long time since we have all shouted "up the ass" Well for me anyway

  7. Our game management is terrible, to not be able to hold on to a 2-1 lead against a bottom 3 side that's down to 10 men is embarrassing and dare I say it..............wouldn't of happened if Karanka was in charge

  11. Britt should never have come back into the side. Heโ€™d done nothing before his injury to say he should be in as soon as heโ€™s fit. He looks miles off the pace anyway and has stifled at least two promising attacking positions. Nmecha would be a much better option at the moment.

  16. We obviously miss some adventorous players. We looked like we had that when Roberts came in and with Spence and Coulson commiting forward with a bit of speed. But when Roberts broke down we've obviously missed that as we don't really have a player that can take a man on like that and make the opposition take their eyes off our other players. What we need in the summer is to try and find at least 1 player like that at. Reloaning Roberts would be a start and then one more. Watkins get's a lot of goals because Benrahma is so tricky and draws a lot of attention.

  17. Boro will be hitting the road once again, in search of their first win since their 2-0 victory at Preston on New Year's Day...blimey that seems a long time ago now! A spirited, though ultimately fruitless, display against high-flying Brentford should give the visitors grounds for optimism and 3 points is a must after a run of results that has seen the club start to drop back down the table. Is it just me or is that 7-point cushion suddenly looking a lot less comfortable? LAST TIME OUT Brentford 3 - 2 Boro: A game of what ifs and if onlys. Having calmed down now, I'm willing

  19. I know it sounds daft given our position, but I'm actually enjoying this season more than last season. Last season completely sucked every bit of love for the game out of me. Just crossing my fingers that we can stay up...

  21. Did not enjoy that match one bit. Awful performance. We got lucky with 2 pot shots from outside the box. Only consolation is the gap remains. We can count ourselves very fortunate with a point there. Do not like where we are heading.

  22. Woodgate out 100%. Not creating a single chance from open play against a 10 man team in 21st place is a disgrace

  26. Tell you what; this ref is as bad as I've seen. Seen some shocking performances from refs in the league this season but this is awful. We're benefitting from it right now but I would not put it beyond this fella ruining it for us too.

  27. I think they were saying this is the first start Ravel's had since April 2017.. I think it's safe to say he's gonna need a game or two to fully get up to speed. He's been fine so far.

  28. Britt has offered nothing because those behind him are doing nothing. He's playing on the last man and the ball never comes to him. Every time Britt comes deep tonight is a failure of our team collectively. Expecting him to do more tonight so far is slightly akin to what Pulis would expect.

  29. Our December-January best period came playing 5 at the back, the evidence from the rest of the time is not great this 433 formation without wingers just has always made us look painfully disjointed and defensively we just don't hold a line as well or defend crosses as well. I'm really not sold on the 433 it was awful in August it still looks awful in February.

  34. How easy did we make that for Moore and Jacobs. Morsy does well but the defending was pathetically lax when the ball launched into the air on the left.

  39. Feline fair Play? Much more winnable game tonight than against Brentford, and we weren't a million miles away there. Hopefully Spence back in and firing and we'll win 2-0

  40. Well I'm going for a 2-1 win, two goal lead and late consolation for Wigan, who scores for us, who cares as long as we get the 3 points in the bag.

  41. Well I've managed to catch quite a few games via streams on USA Goals and to be honest our performances have been pretty mixed in each game. We often start slowly and let other teams dominate us for a good half hour or so. If we concede first, that usually sparks a response. We do play well in patches, but never for sustained periods. Most of our best play seems to involve Coulson, Spence and Tavernier, but we do seem overly reliant on them to make something happen. Defensively...well its a lot like being a kid watching a horror movie...you want to do it from behind the sofa, as it f

  43. The 'freakish' win streak was only 4 games long and included 2 games where we were very poor but won anyway - Stoke and Huddersfield. If you look at our upturn in form, it was essentially beating Barnsley, Charlton, Stoke and Huddersfield at home. Much needed wins but wins against some of the few sides that are actually worse than we are. We drew a handful of games as well, which is pretty much what we've been doing lately, narrow away defeats at Fulham and Brentford aside. We played pretty well on Saturday, we played better in that game than we did in any of the four wins I mentioned

Hopefully Man City win the PL & the treble if im honest, with Arsenal then Liverpool Bottom, Sheff Utd, Burnley & sorry but Luton, even though Everton got battered last night I think Luton will just fall away, they've done remarkably well & probably everyones favourites to be relegated by xmas Leicester & Leeds top 2, with Southampton in the PO's, sorry Ipswich, you've had a great season & deserve to go up Relegated - Rotherham, Sheff Weds & Birmingham 1st division promotion - Portsmouth, I would like to see Bolton with them but think Derby will pip Bolton, who will have to settle with going up via the PO's

16th April 1921 Our first league win on this day came away at Man Utd when a George Elliott goal was enough to bring both points back to the Boro This was George Elliotts 26th & final goal of the season & revenge after losing our previous game (9th) 4-2 at home to Man Utd Boro won only one of their remaining 4 games, drawing the other 3 as we finished in our 4th highest top flight finish of 8th. 5 places higher & 6 points better than the previous seasonย  Although we finished higher than the previous season, other than George Elliott Boro goalscorers were thin on the ground, with the rest of our league goals spread out between the following Alonzo 'Jerry' Poulton 2nd best goalscorer with 5 goals. John 'Jack' Carr with 4. Rob Pender & Tommy Urwin with 3 a piece A number of other players on 2'sย  & 1's Jimmy Howie, our 6th different manager, had done a cracking in his 12 months as manager ย  ย
