China has a lot to answer for and getting their own epidemic under control hardly makes everything okay. It's been known for years that their medieval wet markets are the perfect storm for cooking up a novel virus. Wild species that would never normally cross paths kept in dirty, cramped, stressed conditions. They are then chopped up and eaten in unhygienic ways, exposing humans to infected blood. The Chinese had a massive warning with SARS the first time around and didn't give enough of a crap to change their ways. They tried to cover up this virus, gagging doctors and journalists

I think (and hope) that @Borodane is referring to the Chinese government and not the country of China as a whole. It's not the fault of the citizens that they live under communist rule. Also without the Chinese we wouldn't have Chicken Egg Foo Yung and for that i'm eternally grateful.

Premier league 20/21 season wont start until this one ends according to sources. Lots of ways to shorten next season so i think its a good call. Still makes this season relevant and puts pressure on getting the season going again.

They're talking about £1k fines for refusing a test now. That would sort out the issue of non-returns!

True, I suppose. We'll just have plain clothed doctors go around and stab people to collect their samples then. 😛

I think you would be surprised at the % of people that would actually return them. Depending on where you live the uptake for cancer screening can be as low as 30%. At the other end of the scale some people would want testing every other day. Every test kit has to be made to count so targeting them to the right people at the right time has to be the way to go.

The bugs that were going around at Xmas and new year were not the usual seasonal ailments, Neighbour is an ambulance paramedic and she said they were very much more intense and lots more folk needed ventilation than usual. Only time, boring books and tv documentaries in the future will give any answers as the what this thing really is, where it Came from and how it spread, we can only live through it, learn the lessons from it and hopefully create a better society afterwards because we won’t go back exactly to how things were. No evidence to support this theory just observation f

Bloody good goal as well, unfortunately for us. Mind, we were bloody useless that day.

This sounds exactly what my entire family had just before Christmas. Plus a constant chesty cough. We all got rid of it and it came back again a week later. I'm not saying we had Covid-19 before it was known about but there's a chance we could have.

I have the cough too but it's not as bad as it was!
