  1. Apparently the Germans have started stockpiling sausages and cheese. Is that the würst käse scenario?

  2. Putin has just made a simple statement: He said “Russian citizens have two options (1) Stay at home for 15 days or (2) Stay in prison for 5 years” End of statement

  5. I've seen video footage of how the Russian police operate...I'm not surprised! 😲 Then again they don't have to worry about stuff like Police Complaints Commissions.

  6. Stay at home for 15 days or you have to come and watch the Boro for 5 years... that should be equally effective over here

  8. Good luck and hope you come through this, hopefully once this all over and due to the time we all going to have to think about things we can plan a society that works better than before by recognising and better supporting the services and people that make our society better. im terrible at always appreciating those folk who make society better, so I’m hoping that once this all over I will be a less oblivious person.

  11. He was on loan at Sunderland for part of that season, before Christmas I think it was. He then came back and started getting into the squad and into the first XI on occasions, but he was still mostly a squad player at that point. He was still mostly on the bench at the start of the following season until Parlour got injured for a little while and then Mendieta got injured after that. Zenden got moved into the middle alongside Boateng and Downing came in on the left.

  12. I'm ashamed(?) to admit that I've watched it quite a bit as I have it on DVD. I keep thinking I should be able to hear myself in the crowd as it felt like I was shouting that loud 😀 For the people who weren't there, one thing you might not know is that after the celebrations had finished and everyone was leaving the stadium, the Boro concourses and that were almost silent. All those people filing out and it was really quiet. It was kinda eerie actually. Then a quiet rendition of 'We Shall Overcome' started, which was even weirder in it's own way. I almost remember that more than some

  15. A hell of a lot of them probably won't die though! If I said to you that 250,000 people might die from this in this country alone then that's a huge number obviously but it's only about 0.38% of the population. Most of the people who contract this virus will not die from it however. That's not me trying to be an expert, that's me reading the various stuff from the experts who are quite clear in saying this. Thus far the global percentages seem to match the Chinese percentages from earlier on, suggesting that they are indeed reasonably accurate. There can always be outliers for different r

  16. I was gonna say he was only like 19 then right? Man that was a fun watch, I was 14 that year so I was a couple years into my active supporting, that was the team I really grew up with. Watching Boateng, Mendieta, Zenden, Queuedrue, and of course TLF. Brings back a lot of memories! I didn't actually get to watch this game because I was playing my own game of football at the same time!

  17. I actually forgot how young he was then, it was only the following season I think he forced Zenden into central midfield?

  18. That was a bit special. So sad I'm too young to have witnessed it. Can only hope I'm lucky enough to one day see something similar. UTFB

  20. I watched the dvd of this match a few weeks ago and it wasn’t always an easy watch as I was there I saw us lift the cup but once or twice I felt myself getting uneasy due to the Bolton pressure. 😆 I was chatting to my dad who I went to the match with and we discussed at which point did we feel most elated at, when we scored or at the final whistle, it might be something to do with age but I felt getting that second goal beat the feeling I felt at the final whistle.

I appreciate what you have managed to post after your stroke and I am sure all the guys wish for you to get well soon. I think by the time this is all sorted it would be easier to just cancel it all if I am honest but we shall see. Take care mate.

  23. As the gyms are shut I’ve been looking at other ways to keep active in the home. Yesterday was to do 1000 press ups in a day. Needless to say I failed so I will try again tomorrow. Today’s activity is skipping (not done it in years) Also movie night again tonight. The last one was The Addams Family but are looking for a more action/adventure type so will welcome ideas. In other news. UNO is now banned in my house 😳

  24. Well if you live in the country, there is more opportunity to get out and about. The government has advised that its okay to go for walks, bike rides etc. In fact they are positively encouraging outdoor activities, as a way to stay healthy. What they are trying to prevent is large gatherings in enclosed spaces...pubs, restaurants, cinemas, gyms etc. Not to mention large crowds in places like football stadiums (which also have enclosed concourses). You can't stop people being stupid. If they want to put themselves (and others) at risk by having large house parties,

  25. Uwe - fetch your ban hammer! We can't have such terrible punnery on the forum. 😂 I'm just trying not to imagine what their houses will smell like in 10-12 weeks' time, with that sort of diet. 😮🤮

  26. Well some folks on here were saying that 2 weeks ago we would be in the same situation as Italy. As of today, we're still a long way behind where Italy was, both in terms of recorded cases and deaths (they were already at over 7,000 cases and 360 deaths). Its absolutely tragic how those numbers have escalated since...though medical experts have pointed out Italy has a much larger elderly population than the UK...so maybe those numbers just reflect that. Looking at the pure numbers, it would appear the government's actions are suppressing the rise in cases and fatalities better t

  28. If someone is after a decent series on Netflix to watch, I have just finished Travelers. It's basically about time travelers from a dystopian future who come back to change it for the better, but they can only come back if they overwrite the consciousness of an already living person, so they also need to assimilate their lives

  29. There’s a good reason we don’t chat about politics on this forum. Think we should keep it that way

  30. The point is no other realistic leader would be sat at the helm right now doing anything different. The only possible alternatives to Boris sit to the left of him, any further right and you're in Trumpian 'fake news' territory. The leader shouldn't be 'commended' for listening to people who are experts in their field and acting upon their advice, there's nothing partisan about that. Every leader should do that. Over in the US, the President is still listening to FOX news and reacting so late to everything because for too long he's viewed a life threatening disease as a political football,

  31. I'm in no way qualified to say how I would handle it better, nor did I say I could. I believe the Tory capitalist nature has led to non-vital businesses being kept open longer than they should, and that some of the policies, such as 80% of workers pay being guaranteed are more reactionary than precautionary. I think a more social minded government would have put these changes into place earlier. Of course I am just hypothesising as I don't have all the information available to me but we are two weeks behind Italy and even further behind China, and could have used them as an example s

I think that says a great deal of how fans are feeling now It's completely flat being a boro fan for many reasons this season and we have retreated so much from last seasons high I for one can't wait for the season to be over! Few more wins and  I am looking forward to see the likes of luke Woolston getting a few chances by the end of the season. I'm sure this MDT will pick up at the end of today's result 🤣

Cowans was a good player in a very good Villa side. Nicknamed Sid, I assume more to do with James than Vicious.

It was also largely because Warnock understandably kept getting short term contracts. Last 8 games, then a 1 year deal, then another 1 year deal. The last one to have a contract extended that wasn't about to run out was Karanka in 2015.

29th March 1902 - Second division - Chesterfield at Linthorpe road The Boro promotion juggernaught just rolls on as we chase West Brom for that No1 promotion spot Our last defeat was way back, 21st December to be exact, since that loss we've gone 12 games unbeaten, including two spells winning 4 & 5 games on the bounce, following two consecutive draws Chesterfield were to pay for our lack of wins as we recorded our second highest league win with a convincing 7-1 thrashing With goals from, Robert Watson, William Wardrobe, a brace from Joe Cassidy & a treble from Alex Robertson, our 4th league hat trick, Robertson's 2nd Boro hat trick & our final hat trick at Linthorpe road before we moved across to Ayresome Park

Does anyone know if Fin Cartwright has been injured over the last few months? Law McCabe has made the bench quite a bit but not really seen Fin there. Wouldn’t mind taking a look at him at some point before the end of the season - maybe an incentive for him to sign on if he really is the real deal.
