Just so you are all aware the game was set up to get a feel for playing in an empty stadium. Players weren't allowed to be physical in certain situations etc
I'd agree with this. In particular, we have lots of options in midfield which is where a lot of the running will be done so we can keep that fresh. We have a young team so fatigue will be less of an issue. Are we one of the better squads in the league? Absolutely not, but in our mini league in the bottom quarter I think theres plenty of room for optimism.
Think it’s impossible to predict. It’s like starting again. So I expect to see some crazy results hopefully 10 points will see us safe but I have no idea where they’ll come from 🤷♂️
True. Every season pre season friendly results are scrutinised but in truth they offer little indication of what we can expect when the real stuff starts.
The games are coming thick and fast once we get going again. There’s bound to be injuries and there will have to be plenty of changes to allow a bit of recharging of batteries. On that basis, it’s not just who we pick for first game - a good experienced manager would be planning likely teams for the first four or five matches taking into account the opposition strengths and weaknesses. Of course that does depend on having a good experienced manager!!! It does mean we might see what looks like one or two odd choices though.
I would go for experience though, as a good start will be critical.
No Moukoudi or Gestede either.
Mouk must be injured considering his loan was ended.
It wouldn't surprise me if the club decided the 35k a week to Gestede wasn't worth carrying on past the end of June with Britt, Fletch and Nmecha all fit.
edit* Goals are here

very easy goals conceded.
No Ayala again in todays friendly with Newcastle. No George either. Of the out of contract players Clayts, Shotton and Marv played.
2-0 at halftime ended up losing 3-2 after making big changes at half time.
I know it doesn't mean anything but we started with: Stojanovic.. Spence, Marv, Fry, Shotton.. Clayts, Saville, Rav.. Fletch, Nmecha, Britt.
Hazy Jane used to be great when it was original strength.
Then Brewdog made it into a 5% brew which is poor. Got to go for the Hazy O-G at 7.2% or even better the Triple Hazy at 9.5%
Same here, I literally have no clue and nothing would surprise me.
I could see us getting anything as low as about 7-8 points and anything as high as 16-17.
I think the teams who perform best will be the ones who are the best coached and who have the most motivated players which concerns me a little bit. The thing that gives me hope is that Charlton and Hull are in a mess plus Barnsley and Luton are very poor.
It wouldn't surprise to see a few teams go on brilliant runs and some on terrible runs, I think this whole situation will effect different teams in very different ways.
I've seen more competitive 5 aside games to be fair as I'm sure you have too. It was a training game that looked exactly like a training game, I wouldn't read too much into it.
I think that says a great deal of how fans are feeling now
It's completely flat being a boro fan for many reasons this season and we have retreated so much from last seasons high
I for one can't wait for the season to be over!
Few more wins and I am looking forward to see the likes of luke Woolston getting a few chances by the end of the season.
I'm sure this MDT will pick up at the end of today's result 🤣
It was also largely because Warnock understandably kept getting short term contracts.
Last 8 games, then a 1 year deal, then another 1 year deal.
The last one to have a contract extended that wasn't about to run out was Karanka in 2015.
29th March 1902 - Second division - Chesterfield at Linthorpe road
The Boro promotion juggernaught just rolls on as we chase West Brom for that No1 promotion spot
Our last defeat was way back, 21st December to be exact, since that loss we've gone 12 games unbeaten, including two spells winning 4 & 5 games on the bounce, following two consecutive draws Chesterfield were to pay for our lack of wins as we recorded our second highest league win with a convincing 7-1 thrashing
With goals from, Robert Watson, William Wardrobe, a brace from Joe Cassidy & a treble from Alex Robertson, our 4th league hat trick, Robertson's 2nd Boro hat trick & our final hat trick at Linthorpe road before we moved across to Ayresome Park
Does anyone know if Fin Cartwright has been injured over the last few months?
Law McCabe has made the bench quite a bit but not really seen Fin there.
Wouldn’t mind taking a look at him at some point before the end of the season - maybe an incentive for him to sign on if he really is the real deal.
