  1. I'm hoping for three more points here. Biggest thing that stood out to me about Warnock was how much fun he seemed to be having. He also made a point of praising the front three. Was it any coincidence that we saw Britt's best game for a while? We looked organized, committed and purposeful. Football is a simple game sometimes, and I think we should be ok against Hull with a simple, straightforward approach.

  2. I'm actually looking forward to games again. You know whatever happens, that the players will have been given a solid foundation to work on and will try. Warnock's brutal honesty combined with all his experience is a breath of fresh air. Is it the most entertaining football ever? No but we don't have the players for that. I'll take a solid hard fought win than any of that tripe Woodgate served up.

  3. We weren't dire, we weren't lucky, and Hull are an even worse side than Stoke. We fully deserved to beat Stoke, even though we played okay at best. Absolutely huge match coming up, potentially decisive.

  6. Its very important that we dont lose in this game. We have to stop the relegation threatened teams from gaining on us. Anything more will be a big plus.

  7. Always healthy with a bit of reality 🙂 Under Woodgate I would have expected us to be outfought and looking clueless. But it's different under Warnock. Not just on the back of a win but because Warnock has shown enough in his career that his teams are usually well drilled and have some fight about them. The way he saved Rotherham from the drop a few years ago was almost like a fairytale. I'm not expecting a win here, as Hull will be fighting too, but I believe we now have enough about us to at least get a draw. Warnock is clever enough to have spotted Hulls strengths and weaknesses and wi

  8. Even if basic, it was probably the first attacking plan the players have seen since Monk (not saying Monk's was a good plan but still...). I listened to Crouch's podcast and he confirmed that Pulis drills the defence and midfield in training then sends the forwards off on their own. He expects them to figure attacking out themselves. Woody I think showed the players Match of the Day and told them to be like Liverpool - jobs a good'un.

  9. I reckon the best match I've seen since our promotion year was when we played Brighton away when they hadn't lost in the league yet and we trounced them. That was around 4 years ago and nothing has come close except maybe at home against Sheffield Utd last season - and look where they and we are now 😡.

  10. I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't want Spence in the team. Hes literally the only player we have with pace. Yes hes still learning the defensive positioning side of the game but hes not going to do that stuck on the bench. What he gives us in a attacking sense is far more positive than his lack of defensive nous is a negative.

  11. Hull v Boro Details Teams – Hull v Middlesbrough Location – The Tiger King Stadium Competition – The Championship (only just) Date – Thur 2nd July 2020 Kick off – 17:00 Introduction Hi. The Last Games Boro: Stoke 0 – 2 Boro Boro beat the toothless Stoke 2-0 with goals from Fletcher and a peach of a strike from Tavernier. Jack Butland could only jump up and down and have a strange little tantrum as he watched both goals fly past him. Warnock’s Boro looked a lot more confident and refused to give up their lead, despite several

  12. I wonder if teams like Brum, Reading and QPR are starting to look over their shoulders? Nobody looks like going down without a fight (except maybe Stoke this week...) Points deductions thrown into the mix will make things very interesting.

  13. Barnsley win, Charlton draw, Luton draw, Stoke get hammered, Wigan are now safe. Need Huddersfield to lose to Birmingham and then it's all on the Boro to take the big opportunity presented.

  15. In what way were Stoke unlucky, missing chances isn't unlucky, we also put some excellent blocks and tackles in, to keep them out. Spence made some excellent runs going forward, Saville should have scored, and Britt arguably should have had a penalty bundled over with no attempt to play the ball. We played some good football for the 1st time in a long time. I think your the only Boro fan I know who doesn't think we deserved to win. Their player was also sent off in frustration after they ran out of ideas. Everyone to their own opinion but we've obviously watched an entirely different game.

  16. Celtic have renewed the loan of southamptons Mohamed Elyounoussi for next season. Hopefully that ends their interest in Roberts and we can keep him if we survive.

  17. No they haven't but looking from the outside we look very poorly run. Just look at our massive decline over the last 4 years. There hasn't been anything remotely calm about the club as we've gone from manager to manager, style to style, massive turnover in players and backroom staff and employees in higher positions ie. Bevington. It just looks so clueless without any shape or plan whatsoever so yeah to me it's a bit of a nuthouse because we had every chance to build on promotion/parachute money yet everything has been spunked away to the brink of relegation to league 1. Even Leeds look better

  18. I think we need to reign in the optimism just a little bit, besides its not something we are used to over the last few years. Most of us wouldn't have been surprised to lose at Stoke and a draw would have been great, the win was a huge injection of positivism and belief but Hull will be scrapping for survival or at least they should be. As a Club they are in disarray but we weren't much better before Warnock arrived and in just a week contracts have been agreed, extended or ended and everything seems a lot more organised and controlled. Hull seem to be caught in two minds and don't know w

  19. I remember someone posting on here that they sat near the dugout one game and could hear Pulis shouting to the team 'just get it to Adama'. Maybe that was the extent of his attacking coaching. With Woodgate it's hard to tell what the plan was really, we started the season with a high press, then went back to Pulis tactics. We had a bit of success over Christmas with the young players playing then we lost our way again completely. I'm sure most managers have an idea about how they want to play, the best just know how to get it across to the players. I think that was Monks problem.

  20. I hope we win this one but will be happy with anything other than defeat. Yes we will have a game plan but weather we’ve had enough time to rehearse and implement it is another question. Also hope we cut out some of the defensive errors as we won’t get away with the chances that stoke missed again

  21. I think if we win this one it relegates Hull. They are on a slippery slope and the Brum comebacks must be playing on their minds. We have to go all out and put them to bed. 2-0 win for the Boro.

  22. We can't afford to concede early here. I have faith in us scoring but not coming from behind. I think if Hull started and got the early goals like they did against Birmingham, I don't think we are currently capable of turning it around. A point will be OK but a win would be brilliant. Although as it is its one of those games where any result can happen based on both teams form.

  23. Just watched an episode of Soccerbox with Robbie Keane. How he got any where near a coaching field whether with Ireland or Boro is completely beyond me. Clear as day within a matter of a minute or two watching he does not have any pre requisites to be an assistant or a coach.

  24. With the perilous positions of both teams I believe that we could see a very fast paced game because first goal will be vital and will certainly allow quite an open game, maybe similar to when Hull played at our gaff. What I do know that right now THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME OF THE SEASON.................so far!!!!!!!! and is applicable to both teams. Had it not been for Covid I understand that Hull City FC were going to erect a huge flashing neon sign stating "Huge Massive Game Here Tonight" on the main approach road to Hull with finger pointers stratigically placed as you got n

Hi Lads,Cardiff fan in peace.Regarding the appointment of Neil Warnock I think you have made the right choice. He'll keep you up no problem in my view and you only have to look ar Rotheram a few seasons ago where he kept them up with far less resourses than you've got. Thats what made us get him.If he gets a window in the summer it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see you promoted next season. There is a downside to his football insomuch as it won't be pretty to watch but mark my words he'll make you incredibly hard to beat. Also and perhaps more importantly is his self life is probably 2

  26. Aye, they have - fair play to Ben Mee, James Tarkowski, and Sean Dyche for their responses. All were far from manufactured virtue signalling phrases too - each spoke genuinely from the heart and with such compassion and empathy. Was quite beautiful to see. Football and footballers get a bad press, but to a man I think we've seen a brilliant response from the game and the Black Lives Matter movement. It's been far more than just the old 'stick on a T-shirt' of old.

To be fair before his first injury I think he was in his best form for us (after a weird in and out start to the campaign), 4 goals and 2 assists in 7 games at one point. Then we didn't see him for about 3 months, he came back and wasn't playing badly, just not up to the standard earlier in the season. I don't think at any point this season He's been playing like someone who doesn't want to be here.

I've no doubt they've got absolutely zero interest in protection the competition, or the lower leagues, but I've always hated replays so it doesn't bother me particularly. I know I'm an outlier with that, but I've never liked the financial argument as it always seem to be  about keeling clubs afloat when they wouldn't be able to without it, which I don't think is healthy, and it certainly doesn't help smaller clubs in a sporting sense. I'm more annoyed about the FA Cup final continuing to be played before the end of the league season, that's really diminishing it.

They've strengthened the format by removing replays.  Yeah right.  I suppose it's better than saying that the game in this country is run for the benefit of half a dozen clubs, who incidentally, would drop being part of football in this country in a microsecond if it suited them financially to do so - hence the clubs who were supporting the Super League not long ago, and still do support it whatever they might say publicly.

Hednesford swapped to play their tie here rather than at home.

If he's got issues off the pitch then it puts some of this season into a bit of perspective I'd say.  I know his body language has been mentioned a few times.  If he's having a rough time of it outside football then it stands to reason we wouldn't be seeing the best of him regardless of the injuries.
