  1. In an ideal world the Club would be well run and have an established plan that was well prepared and followed diligently by individuals with the correct skill sets in researching, setting up and implementing it let alone following it through to conclusion. The "Golden Thread" was a bit like seeing plans for a beautiful House and rather than employ the Architect to oversee construction along with those all important skilled tradespeople, four blokes sat around a pub table said we can do that and save ourselves a fortune! The Chief bloke scribbled his not so elaborate plan on the back of a

  3. I’m drunk and I love this. This is the best I’ve felt about boro in ages. And that’s saying something because there’s not a lot of sunshine.

  5. I like Warnock, I don't get upset by direct football if it works, and I think he'd have us comfortably upper mid-table at the very least with some investment. People were crying constantly about the football under Karanka, and it was easily the best time we'd had in the last decade. I've just accepted that some of our fans are going to dislike the football we play, and it shouldn't impact my enjoyment of it.

  6. Every single one of those players out there fought for the shirt just like they did at Millwall away. Pears had very little to do which shows how strong we were throughout the game. Tavernier, Friend and Saville were brilliant.

  7. I'd offer Johnson a deal. He isnt a full back but I think he has been excellent under Warnock going forward. Hes a top lad as well. Problem is, he's not going to get a new deal as things stand. Hope Warnock changes that because he deserves it.

  8. What I loved about the first goal was having 4 players in the box and 3 lurking around it and for the 2nd having 5 players in the box.

  9. Two massive must win away matches in the last week and Warnock has managed to get the lads up for it but not too scared to play. He’s had to deal with losing 2 centre backs this week and has made some big calls. Years of experience - I don’t think we would be safe without him.

  10. Excellent result today and hopefully it's enough to get us over the finishing line Every single one of those players out there tonight fought for the shirt exactly like they did against Millwall. Warnock certainly has got the players up for the scrap and will hopefully put one over on his old Bluebirds Saturday to see us safe. Saville and Tavernier were different class tonight for me. Get safe Saturday, and then we can all discuss the rebuild that's needed for next season. UTB!

  11. Hull v Luton next means not both of them can finish above us. Wigan v Charlton could potentially be the same if Charlton don't win their game in hand. Barnsley are away to Leeds and Brentford and home to Forest and need to win all 3 basically. A point should get us over the line, but still looking good now with the other games.

  12. Fantastic effort. Makes me wonder how better off we would have been with tav in the lineup throughout this run - he was everywhere. Him and Roberts have to start every game.

  18. Scientists claim fear and excitement trigger the same chemical reactions in the brain. If that's true, I am full of excitement about tonight's match and our prospects of reaching League One.

  19. No, we don't have the players required for that type of football, because we are buying players who fit a style of football no longer fit for purpose.

  20. I actually rate Johnson. I'm bias I suppose. But hes a top bloke, honest pro and has given his all to the cause. Theres far worse to have at lwb or lw.

  21. Best thing about Fletcher is he's still only 24, I think he could very well score 20 if we can add some creativity this summer I do think he's better in a partnership though

  24. I'm exhausted after that. Pretty scrappy, but probably the most important 3 points Boro have won in a long time. Wasn't pretty and they looked lethargic (or just knackered) at times, but they put the work in when it really mattered. Managed to produce enough good moments to clinch it. Dunno what the 1st half was like, but I reckon we just shaded the 2nd half and narrowly deserved the win. Well done lads...you just saved Boro's Championship status! 🙌👏💪 ...probably also prevented a few heart attacks among the fanbase too.

  25. Pleased to be proven wrong about the team sheet. What a result that is absolutely superb. Could be the result that moves us clear that. 3 wins from 5 is fantastic.

  29. Except he won't, will he? He'll leave, SG will decide we need to modernise & play attractive football for a change, and we'll hire another JW. We keep flip flopping between defensive hoof ball & "attractive football" and back again when the latter doesn't work because, surprise surprise, we've got a team built for defensive hoof ball. AND, to top it all off, we can't even do the "defensive" bit now either.

  30. Swansea after relegation essentially said they were starting again, they were one of the original teams who showed a long-term plan can work when they got promoted in 2010 having fought through the leagues and it led to many years in the Premier League but when they were in the Prem, they fell into a bit of a trap with the American owners and have re-shuffled the pack after relegation and gone again. That means this year they're in their 2nd year of their long-term strategy despite losing a manager half-way through. When Graham Potter left, they pushed for another successful young manager

  31. I look at teams like Brentford and Swansea, teams who haven't been promoted back yet but work in a way that means they build a club for the future. So even when Brentford struggled when they lost Mark Warburton to Rangers, they ended up with Dean Smith who got them back on track immediately. After Dean Smith left to Villa, Thomas Frank has carried on with that improvement and kept them going in a similar way to the point where they could even get automatically promoted this year. We can't do that if we keep changing the style of manager we hire, not to mention our recruitment practices don't e

  32. bringing pears back could be an accidental masterstroke. im mixed re stojanovic, hes technically decent and a better age than pears but i detected a lack of understanding and communication between him and certain defenders . pears , if left out much longer would have faded into obscurity and he may benefit from this recall if results keep us up, hopefully he will be as good as his dad was, in the long run.

  33. Start Tav and we have a far greater chance of winning. His ability and movement is exactly what we have been missing. Quality player.

  34. Want an extra layer of comfort? Let's game out Wigan get deducted to 45 and Charlton beat Birmingham tomorrow well Charlton would need a point from either Wigan or Leeds to reach 50 except if they take any points from Wigan then Wigans hopes of getting to 50 (and us) are gone. If Charlton lose to Birmingham tomorrow or even draw them needing 3 points from Wigan and Leeds to get to 50 is a heavy lift. If Birmingham somehow win tomorrow then our position looks even better with Charlton/Hull//Luton all 4+ points behind us with 2 games left. We're all assuming worse case on our own end as wel

  35. The Championship table looks far more encouraging now! I can actually look at it without wincing for a change. For a neutral, this must be an absolutely thrilling conclusion to the Championship season. Two games to go for most teams, and Bristol City (in 11th) could still squeak the play-offs, while we're in 17th and not mathematically safe yet.

  37. I think we would have pretty much been relegated by now if Woody was still in charge. Think we would have been 8 or 9 points worse off. The latter would have relegated us with a Luton win tonight. I am very glad Gibson acted - although he should have done so much earlier.

  38. The good thing about Luton is they still need at least 4 points even with a win tonight to overtake us bar a 20 odd goal swing.

  44. That's good for us. Keeps Hull below us. Wouldn't object to them beating Charlton too. Our best chance is for Barnsley to lose all their matches, and for Hull and Luton to lose today, draw with each other and then lose their final matches. Edit: unless we somehow manage a win

To be fair to our recruitment I think we have had a few good windows even tho they seem to get a lot of stick. Out of all the signings this year if say there’s only Silvera that seems below par. but he has come from Auz so we may see a better player next year when he’s had a season behind him. Greenwood hasn’t been amazing but he’s young and could improve IF we sign him permanent Thomas hasn’t looked great but hasn’t had a pre season with us and a run of games so hard to judge. Gilbert hasn’t featured enough to judge him either. keepers both solid enough VDB looks class Rogers was good business LLath looks a good find Azaz improving OBrien showing signs after a run of games LB’s both seem more then good enough at this level. im confident that we will have a good summer

Fair play to Ipswich they deserve their place in the sun this season.Next season a totally different story. They will be annihilated.Ditto to most of the teams promoted.

They have just had £100m invested. I believe that a fair amount of it is for infrastructure but next season their only limits will be P&S.

Why would Ipswich be able to financially out compete us?
