Norwich will be fine next season. In terms of player turnover I think the vast majority of their squad will stay intact, would be a big blow to them to lose their younger talents, Cantwell, Aarons, Lewis and Godfrey. But they have over the last few years made a real effort to have a clear pathway from academy football to first team, so they'll undoubtedly have another crop of youngsters to fill the void. Stuart Webber is very adept at bringing players that excel at Championship level, so even if they do lose their better players, I expect them to pick up players that are very capable. As oth3 points

Fry leaves now and we are left with no CBS at all... I'd more inclined to sell Spence with a sell on clause. Spence is nowhere near £10million player. Good going forward but defensively he is shocking, yes he can improve on that but given that he was wanting a move back to London previously then I would take the money and rebuild the squad with quality and experience as that's what this club requires.3 points

I'm always hesitant of accepting any value for a player when the argument is "We can use that money to replace them and better". Some of you haven't been paying attention to our transfer dealings, have you? What gives anyone the idea that putting money into our recruitment finances is going to lead to a net positive in terms of players in our squad? If we were smart, we'd be willing to sell players with a high value with a longer term strategy behind big money. As it is, we'll sell to give Warnock funds to work with. Then in a year's time when he's gone and those players aren't what we ne3 points

Putting "stay in control" on the 32Red logo does nothing to change the fact wearing a replica shirt turns you into a walking advertisement for a Gibraltar-based gambling platform. Roll on 2023, when gambling advertising will hopefully go the way of cigarette advertising. Mind you, knowing MFC, they'd probably respond by signing a five year deal with Poundland or Sports Direct.3 points

Sell at that price, with a sell on clause. He's been decent in a number of games going forwards, but I think he's largely looked better than he is because we've been so poor. Absolutely nothing special defensively. No real ties to the area and he's already had an attitude issue under Woodgate. We're only just avoiding relegation as it stands, and he's only been good in parts, so I don't think it's the same as the Traore situation where he was far and away our best player and could have been the difference in a promotion push.3 points

He's good and has a lot of potential.. but is he so good a skint Champo team can turn down 10+ mil? No.. And I'd trust Warnock to bring in 3-4 good value players in return.2 points

Boro v Cardiff Saturday 18th July, 3pm, Riverside Stadium The Form: Boro come into this one off the back of a victory after coming from behind. I know, I can't believe it either. Fletcher and Roberts hitting a goal in each half to cancel out Liam Moore's opener for Reading. Fletcher's goal was his 13th of the campaign, and he looks to be improving every season. Is the once highly rated youngster finally beginning to show some of his potential? Warnock now has a 50% record in his 6 games for Boro, with the Riverside club rising as high as 17th before tonight's kickoffs.1 point

But that's why I say I'm hesitant. Some people would jump at the chance of taking money despite not thinking we'll spend it well. I'd arguably say we should be trying to spend within our means, instead of throwing away a good player in a position when we have no guaranteed quality elsewhere. We sell Spence and we have to buy a new RB on top of those positions too, we have to buy to put more pace into the side because we lose that with Spence leaving too. Suggestions from others that Dijksteel is ready to take that spot... based on what exactly? I can't remember a single good game he'1 point

Bournemouth on the other hand could struggle. I read something that they had the 3rd highest "Wages to turnover" in the Premier League, think it was close to 85%. They are also over reliant on broadcasting income as their main income stream, again I think that sits at close to 90%. Which isn't uncommon, but when you take out the premier league income their turnover sits at just over £15 Million.1 point

Looks like the next big defender coming out of the danish league is Sebastian Hausner. 19 years old and looks so classy. Similar size to Fry but much quicker. Good footballing brain too. One to keep an eye on for any club who wants to invest in future stars. Plays for his hometown club though so will need a good move to be priced away. Other players we could realistically look at is Casper Højer who plays left back and Mustapha Bundu who plays right wing. Højer could be available at around 2-2,5 million pounds and Bundu at about 3,5. I watch these players every week as they play for my team he1 point

Unpopular opinion: Spence is severely overrated 😬 £10million?! What’s he genuinely done to warrant such a fee. Last few games he’s been completely anonymous. Can’t defend either, and looks to have lapses in concentration all the time.1 point

No way they'll be holding onto Buendia, Cantwell, Lewis, Aarons. They'll basically have a ton of money to spend on a pretty crap squad... not a guarantee of success as Stoke, Boro (and Villa kind of) can prove. Farke is way more competent than Monk though so that's in their favour.1 point

I honestly disagree. I don't think we want to sell Djed and it would take a silly bid for us to do so. 10m IMO is getting into silly bid territory, so I wouldn't be surprised, but I don't think we'll sell for "much less".1 point

The club can say that all they want. A team getting hammered every week is going to be impacted and devoid of confidence, including the manager. Their finances will be excellent, but I don't think they'll hit the ground running unless there's a high turnover of players. They've not been trying to lose these games, they've been incapable of winning them.1 point

Some players looked exhausted on Tuesday. Perhaps controversial, but I'd rest Roberts for the Sheff Wed game. Who knows, maybe a relegated Sheff Wed by next match if certain rumours are to be believed. Play him last 30 mins if need be. Britt, McNair, maybe Clayton to come in as fresh legs too. As long as there is at least some pace to break with, say Coulson and Tav, I think we have to keep it tight and frustrate Cardiff as best as possible - a point keeps us up so we should fight with that in mind. Reading and Bristol C both took us apart on the break, Cardiff will too if they get t1 point

Not in the know but, if we do stay up, then I think this summer will be a time of Gibbo investing again, especially if Warnock stays. There will be a freeing up of high wage earners; Gestede, Ayala, Shotton, Clayton plus the three year “Profitability and sustainability rules“ will hopefully have passed for us. We must get Roberts (the Championship Juninho) as our first signing, hopefully on a permanent. I agree with the Fry for Gibbo transfer if all parties are happy. We also must get a proper Centre Forward who can hold the ball up and score goals. Fletcher could be backup.1 point

I don't think Norwich will continue to fall; they basically set themselves up to come straight back down this season, so I'd be extremely surprised if they're not promotion hunting next season again. There's a good article on the Norwich situation here.1 point

Not to mention signing the wrong championship players and overpaying for them both fee and salary wise so we had no money to revamp the squad and sort out the lack of creativity. Nor changing managers and styles so radically and expecting players to be able to fit in. Whether they were the right division one players is another matter, but I think under Woodgate they didn’t really have a chance. Possibly, just possibly, under Warnock we might see them able to be at least good squad members. Johnson certainly has limitations. However, as a squad player and not first choice, he is prob1 point

In the last 10 seasons, and I'll exclude goalkeepers, these are the players we've signed from League One: Matt Crooks (after relegation) Uche Ikpeazu (after relegation) Sam Morsy (after relegation) Duncan Watmore Anfernee Dijksteel (after promotion) Marc Bola Paddy McNair (after relegation) Marvin Johnson Lee Tomlin (mid-season after relegation) James Husband (after relegation) Albert Adomah (after relegation) It's not a big list of players at all, and almost all of them, bar Husband and Ikpeazu, were decent signings. You could also easily exclude 7 of those players since they'd played the last season in the Championship, leaving the list as Watmore, Dijksteel, Bola and Marvin Johnson. -

Che Adams was signed from League One by Birmingham, after being signed from non-League by Sheffield United. Josh Brownhill started his career at a League One club and was signed by Bristol City on the back of a League One loan. -

Really don’t get this obsession with signing league one players, our record is atrocious when it comes to signing players from the lower leagues. Our best season recently was with premiership loans. Really hope we go for quality over quantity, I’d be happy with 3 top players and fill the gaps in the squad with youth. Calum O’Hare Josh Brownhill Che Adams All top performers at this level, all available for free and all at the age you can probably still move them on 3 years from now. You would pay more in wages but you would be looking at big transfer fees to bring players of their quality in. Then take a punt on someone like Dembele. Also really hope McGree signs a new deal. Lath, Adams, Forss & Coburn McGree, Jones, Aziz, Dembele, O’Hare, Silvera. For our attacking options. -

The vote for Boro's goal of the season. I've gone for McGree's against Birmingham, even though I think Forss' against Sunderland was the best finish. I prefer a cleaner build up. I expect Greenwood's free kick will win though. -
