  1. If we could manage hoilett on the left and roberts on the right id be very happy to be honest. From what we've had in the last few years thats a massive upgrade.

  2. I wouldn't touch Ince with a barge pole, personally. Hasn't been good for ages. Give him a chance if he turns up like anyone. But I wouldn't expect much from him.

  3. Gotta be Fletcher. Think he's very underrated by our fanbase and has worked really hard to improve his game after a difficult start to his career here.

  4. Fletcher for me but definitely been a bit of a disconnect between how i feel about the team the past 2 seasons, like comparing how I feel about Fletcher compared to how I felt about Kike or Tomlin or any of that 2014-16 team tbh I do feel like I'm getting that love for the team back though especially with the likes of Spence and Tav having their breakout seasons and our results under Warnock

  5. I don't know about that. The Gazette have broken this story, as far as I'm aware. They're very rarely first with transfer news, and normally only report it and attribute it elsewhere. The fact that they've confidently announced this link makes me think they have some solid info from somewhere. It wouldn't surprise me if it was quite close.

  6. Hoilett's what we've missed for years Just wish he was a bit younger

  9. It is rare EG break transfer news without a degree of certainity. Also in article confirm we want Luke Amos.

  10. I think Cox looked OK next to Pearson and Festa...but when he was with Whyte, Whelan, Morris and Vickers, he got hung out to dry trying to cover for them and Kinder often looked like he was in a different team...the opposition...solid enough with decent support but not a stand out

  11. I think something similar occurred in Liverpools home kit. Add a tinge of an extra colour and then say it represents the Liver birds then sell it for £99.

  12. To be honest I find it difficult to pick a favourite out as we are at a stage where we have no consistently outstanding players though many are very capable in flashes...I like Johnson going forwards but he terrifies me near our penalty area...Fletch is improving all the time and with a partner that would pass to him, he could improve a lot more...Tav is beginning to show his potential ...but agree with Blanco, Saville very underrated and reminds me a lot of Mustoe...so probably one of those three depending on the game...."deep rums".?..I'll have one of those

  13. Friend also for sentimental reasons. I have a soft spot for Dijksteel for reasons unbeknown to even myself and want him to do well. I really liked Ayala as I felt much more confident in our defence when he was a part of it but the way he departed left a bad taste. My favourite player growing up, despite my username, was actually Gianluca Festa. I like players who play in a way which shows that they care about this club as much as we fans do. Festa did that. There been more since him, George being one of them. His legs have gone but I know he gives a sh*t about this club just as much

  14. Friend for sentimental reasons... I have a soft spot for Coulson as well.. I love those merauding deep rums he can make.. From wing back.. He can unfotunately not do it as a winger, yet...

  15. Based on how he came onto the scene, I would say Lewis Wing is probably in the discussion for me. If you'd asked me this last season it was easy, Adam Clayton. Now, after the year we've had...probably Wing. Or Fletcher, I really like Fletcher nowadays too.

  16. My favourite current Boro player is George Saville because he is a workhorse and a lot tidier a footballer than he is given credit for IMO

  17. I'd have good money that half of it is at least what we'll end up paying him. If you think he's coming for something like £10k per week then I think you will be mistaken. I bet Hall is upwards of £15k a week and Hoilett would be about £20k minimum I reckon, who we are seemingly interested in signing. Still, signing older players on expensive long contracts isn't an issue for us, especially with our even older manager on a one year contract. It all sounds like it's been very well thought out 👍

  18. Amos, holliet, Moore all be good establishd signings for us, straight in the starting 11, let's get them over the line. Add Gibbo a keeper and a left back, and we're back in business.

  19. Fry is one of the worst centre backs in the league. I honestly don’t remember him having a good game.

  20. If we are playing Coulson and Spence as the fullbacks, I'd invert the central midfield 3. Have Tav and Saville(Howson) then have a specialist holding midfielder to cover the defence when inevitably Coulson/Spence bomb forward.

  22. Yeah I agree with the sentiment expressed you're talking about, I definitely wouldn't say no to *** Advocaat at this club. As for what Van Persie is after, well, not for me personally but each to their own.

  23. @Jamie-H - I agree we'll see further improvements and developments. If Gibson came in and played alongside Hall, on paper at least that's one of the most sound and experienced Championship CB partnerships you're likely to see at this level. Two lads who can help organise the team from the back. And stick Amos in there alongside Howson and that midfield suddenly has more balance than we've had for years. I'd be cautiously optimistic if it were Dijksteel at RB after his upturn in performances. Think Warnock will be looking at 2-3 different systems according to who we play, and Dijksteel ca

  24. Tav IS that important. Completely changes the team dynamic when he plays.

  25. Hoilett is the sort of player fans would be excited about. And the sort of player we've been crying out for since Adomah left. Think The Ass would thrive with Hoilett's creativity too.

  27. Well now we know why the winger rumours have been so quiet, he has 1 year left but Cardiff will be an absolute nightmare to deal with here the whole league rival premium on top I don't see this done easily at all or cheaply.

  28. Watched that too, thought he came across really well. I've heard that there was a training ground incident with Ben and then it was decided he was to be removed from the group.

  29. They say you shouldn't ever go back, but I'm not entirely sure Ben ever properly left. Agree with other posters though that this is all becoming a bit tawdry. God alone how this looks from a Burnley perspective. Imagine if we'd made a Burnley player our record signing, barely played him, and then found out he was hanging out at Turf Moor all the time.

  30. Listened to the High Performance Podcast with Sean Dyche on Youtube where he talks about his philosophy and demands of players at Burnley. Its hard to believe there is an issue between him and Gibson considering the latter was thought of as a leader when he was here and it’s what Dyche looks for when signing players (Mentality, background, attitude, mannerisms etc)

  31. Do we stand a much better chance at getting promotion than QPR?
    1 point
  32. We still have a chance with Amos as it is a permanent deal isn't a loan. The player may still come for the same reason Hall is here as the Boro stand a much better chance than QPR of having a push for promotion. Thus he may still be tempted by us. However QPR is very much the easy option for him stay in London with his friendship support network play for a club he knows. However at 23 his next move is crucial if he wants to be a premiership player thus his ambitions maybe more fulfilled at Boro.

  33. Maybe its just me but this Ben Gibson melodrama is all starting to turn out a little bit sad and not in a good way for either Boro, Burnley or Ben. Hopefully he pulls his big boy pants on and soon.

  35. That's not far off what is currently in place in League 1 and 2. Very simplified under the SCMP (which has now been voted out) in League 1 you can spend upto 60% of your turnover on wages. League 2 is 55%.

  36. Just seen them and thought exactly the same. What is the point in the 2nd and 3rd kit as it contains same colours as the home kit?

  38. Sounds like I was right with that being my suggestion for who our top target is, Warnock said we have to wait til the 24th and the final for it is the 23rd. So the sooner City get knocked out, the better, I guess.

  39. Sorry been away with job. Spoke to friend updates I have gibson: still in talks with Burnley Not dependant on fry His is willing to take a huge wage cut! Amos doesn’t want to leave London so unlikely there but he has had talks. McNair in talks with stoke and a couple of other clubs including Celtic but stoke need to sell 1st. Roberts still at target but want to wait until after champions league. Gunter been to rockcliffe but has a lot of options.

  40. Very much off topic. But that Bucket family never sat right with me. Pretending to be bed ridden no doubt to claim extra benefits in some sort of weird wife swapping lifestyle (must’ve been upsetting for the kids) With Grandpa Joe feigning poverty but breaking out his suit as soon as there’s something in it for him 🤨

  41. To be frank I wouldn't advocate any Danish talent to join Boro at the moment. And those with talent in the danish league will likely have better offers than a relegation threatened championship club. I have repeatedly said we should sign Mustapha Bundu though, but Boro just won't listen.
