  1. I would take what Warnock says with a pinch of salt during this transfer window. I doubt he is going to come right out and say "I want X, Y and Z" as when he enquires about them the price will be set in stone. When I go to buy a car I know exactly what I want and what I'm going to look at but I never walk onto the forecourt and home straight in on the low mileage sports saloon with German Engineering that I just drove for three hours to look at. I always mooch about looking at similarish cars and when the beeming salesman (pun intended) comes out to strike up a conversation I tell him the

  2. Absolute ***. If people seriously want to watch this for a season you are off your bloody heads. Barnsley get the ball and it’s pass to feet, pass to feet, pass to feet, movement off the ball. We get it and it’s thumped forward or wide. How can we be an inferior footballing side to the likes of Barnsley and Shrewsbury? And why are there still people defending this as though it’s the only way forward. It’s *** dreadful.

  3. It was almost identical to the Shrewsbury game if you saw that one. Same basic pattern to it, the opposition playing football and us hitting hopeful balls forward. The big difference of course was that Shrewsbury are a worse team than Barnsley and we selected a worse team tonight. The actual game though was no different at all. We actually selected a team that could have played 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 comfortably but we stuck with 3-5-2 and left Coulson as a right wing back all night long. Appalling. And again, I'd be sacking Warnock if I was his boss. If someone working for me screwed u

  4. Who needs to play Chelsea when you can make Barnsley look like them instead?

  5. Not sure why people are having a meltdown about Warnocks team selection. He said before Shrewsbury game he would look to make wholesale changes if we progressed given size of squad. This idea he was using tonight's team selection to make a point is ridicuoous because he has already made that point previously. And not only has he made it but its been fully accepted by those above so he does not need to repeat it. Its out there and accepted. Just a case of trying to doing something about it which it seems everyone at club is trying.

  9. Did the team get leaked on FMTTM today? I went on to have a look and found myself in a thread about how masks and COVID-19 are just a massive conspiracy and actually 99.9% of people who get it don't die, full of citations as you can imagine... not. The impressive thing is that the guy who started the thread is criticising others for thinking depression and anxiety, which he suffers from, aren't real. I wonder what he'd do if he met a COVID sufferer. Catch COVID, would be my guess. Anyway, just a reminder never to go back to FMTTM again there.

  11. Frankly I am getting pig sick of us been crap. Same old, same old. We need at least 5 in, need a bit of fight, commitment, intent. We are just so easy to roll over - especially at home. Simply not good enough. If you aren’t, you should be embarrassed Gibbo, the club has been left slide to unacceptable levels. Hang your head in shame

  12. What a day .. I was sent home from work, cause my girlfriend called and said we have to be tested for Covid-19, cause our niece have been sent home from school with sore throat, fever and headache ... She spent the weekend at our house... I work as a teacher, so they are discussing to quarantine the classes I have been teaching toay and yesterday .. My daughter should have played an important handball game today, but she is in quarantine too, cause she also spent the weekend at our house .. My ex (mother of my daughter) just started a new job as manager for a restaurant .. She al

  16. Once again I’m amazed by the short sightedness by some of you. This is a masterclass in Getting a signing over the line. If we are in for Woodrow he’s gotta be thinking he’d definitely get a game even if he injures himself by stepping on a land mine 🤔

  18. Perhaps because finding a left back and two good wingers is very unlikely within our budget and also we definitely would need two new strikers as neither Fletcher nor Assombolonga are natural headers of the ball. Furthermore two of our brightest young assets, Coulson and Spence would then be surplus to requirements.

  20. Well the alarm bells are going in my head reading that Warnock interview. Says we don’t need anymore creativity and can rely on Tav and Wing... what is this club’s problem? For years our struggle hasn’t been a lack of quality striker up front, it’s the severe lack of service they receive and not one person in the hierarchy seems to be aware. Morons

  21. Interesting quote from Mowbray in an article: ”Covid has affected things, there’s a lot of footballers around the world who gave up money, they deferred money in salaries, and when a transfer is coming up midway through the repayment of those deferrals, the clubs sometimes aren’t quick to repay that money that’s owed, and it’s difficult. “I’m sure we’re not the only clubs who have hit these kind of circumstances of trying to sign footballers who are still owed money. “It then becomes more difficult. Are you just giving up on that money, are you expected to walk away? Those are t

  23. We looked better in the second half but Barnsley just sat back as they won it in the first half so probably a bit deceptive. It probably demonstrated why Warnock did not change things on Friday as nobody really covered themselves in glory. Whether it was meant or not, a message should have been received by the hierarchy tonight about the poor squad built over the past few years. Whether we have the finances to do much about it though remains to be seen. The defensive aspect of our play was very naive, though it was a very young inexperienced unit. Mcnair was a positive when he came on, whic

  30. Have to admit it’s depressing seeing these ‘smaller’ sides able to knock the ball around pretty decently while we stick to the lump it to the channels style that fails over and over again. It’s like everyone but us has got the message.

  32. Missed the first half because I didn't realise we had an idiotic kick-off time, but it really is sounding as though Warnock is conspiring to get us eliminated from the cup. I have always liked the guy, but I've lost a lot of respect for him tonight.

  34. Maybe he just wants a different view point, or he's watching with SG and NB. Sometimes watching from higher up gives you a better view of whats going on. Out of everything today, him wtching from the stands is the least of our worries.

  35. Is this all part of the great pointmaking that actually we need new fullbacks, midfielders and strikers? I don't get the genius here, Karanka used to throw cup ties but at least he was on the touchline this is scandalous stuff from Warnock, another home defeat will be demoralizing enough but horrible signal by the manager here if it's frustration over transfers walk away there's no excuse to not be on the touchline he wouldn't have the *** to do this if there were fans there.

  41. Yeah, Southgate felt £500k was too expensive so we pulled out and agreed a loan to buy of about £3.5m for Caleb Folan instead. It’s that level of shrewdness from the club I wish we could see more of today!!

  42. Austin's career average is better than a goal every 2 games. Even removing his non-league career, it's still something like a goal every 2.2 games. Not bad considering that includes several seasons in the Premier League. Woodrow's is marginally better than 1 in every 4. Woodrow has broken double figures in the Championship in one season, Austin has done it consistently. Woodrow obviously has youth on his side, and might be a bit more creative, but Austin is a far better finisher, and how anyone could see him as a spud is beyond me. In any case, Austin probably wouldn't fancy it. I'm

  47. GK: Bettinelli - He needs to get minutes and good coomunication with the defense. CD: Fry - Needs game time. I would like him to take off the gloves and add a little wildness to his game. He is too passive at times. CD: Hall - Needs game time. I think he is just rusty and that there is a quality player in there. CD: Wood - Young Nathan needs this chance to shine and make his way in to the first team. RWB: - Spence - Up your game son, or get dropped .. LWB: Bola - we haven't seen him play for a while, and he needs to show what he can do. CM: Morsy - We all want to see what

I’d be happy with that, it’s hard to find a good proven and affordable cm and we’ve got one on a plate with O’Brien with the added try before you buy benefit. Ayling I think is a no brainer if he’s cheap enough.

Yeah just listened to the presser thats on website @Teacider and not sure if MC let slip but he said “there are important players here we want to keep for the long term”. Not sure if that was a general comment or one aimed at loan players. Think we will try keep Ayling and O'Brien and let go of Greenwood and Thomas.

No matchday thread so I'll shot it here. Sounds like we are interested in signing Ayling permanently. There are contract discussions underway with a number of players. McNair is back in training, apparently Lenihan isn't close.
