  1. I'd be furious if we sold Paddy to be honest. Obviously a quality player and has probably been our standout player of the season so far. His versatility will also be extremely valuable during this crazy season. Would much rather sell Wing who I don't believe is cut out for this level.

  2. If wing does leave and we sign Mowatt I would be happy as it’s an improvement

  3. Living in hope, clutching at straws, dreaming we all do it individually or collectively, I guess because once the club is in your blood the club becomes part of you and part of the family. Now repeat, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.

  4. I agree with you and I wasn't advocating selling him. I was just trying (obviously poorly) to make sense of being linked with another central midfielder and that Paddy is one of most saleable assets, so keeping tabs on Mowatt, as an option in case a bid comes in for Paddy. I'd be surprised if selling Wing would fund buying Mowatt.

  5. Would it? McNair has played entirely at Centre Back this season, and has been one of our best players. We need a centre back in even if we keep McNair, we'd need 2 if we sold him, not another midfielder.

  6. Regarding Roberts. It could be just that players been given a few days off training which includes Patrick Roberts but might be back in training tomorrow. I cant imagine they got full week off but maybe given few extra days off. Albeit it seems Ronerts was there on Monday so they could have taken photos of him then and used the photo to confirm deal following day if paperwork is done. If he not announced by Friday I might start panicking a bit. Haha.

  7. Clyne training with Palace and Hodgson had him at England. With it being Clynes first club if he impresses I think it’s nailed on he goes there

  8. That would be unreal. Unlikely. But warnock give him his 1st chance at palace and raves about him in his book

  9. Traore has finally got his cap for Spain. No injuries or Covid to stop it this time. Hope he nuts Ronaldo.

  14. Wing has talent - you don't score as many goals from distance as he does without natural skill. Whether anyone can coach the rest of his game up to an acceptable standard is debatable - particularly passing - but Warnock has a better chance than anyone of developing whatever potential he has. Remember people insisted Traore was a headless chicken, shouldn't be a footballer, was never going to learn at Boro if he hadn't learned at Barcelona, etc. I know Wing isn't even in the same stratosphere in terms of raw talent, but he could be a useful impact sub as the opposition tire, and he gives

  17. Why can't you? If you can get 100 people out of a cinema safely, why can't you do it with 1000s of people in a stadium? And why does the time it takes matter so much when, just like attending the cinema or going to the pub, the biggest risk is clearly taken by the individual? They're the people who'll know and have to appreciate that extra time getting in and out. They've already paid their money too. When I mentioned risk, I was talking about police numbers. Why would any game with such relatively low attendance figures be classed as high risk in those books? The COVID handling is a sepa

  19. Couldn't it be staggered? I'm sure most people wouldn't mind hanging round an extra half an hour if it meant they'd be allowed to watch the game. To be honest I'm more concerned about not being able to see my family at the moment. Its strange that people seem to be more in uproar about not going to the pub and missing football than they do family.

  21. When loaning players out to championship teams I don’t think club size or promotion prospects really affect much. It’s all about game time in his correct position, stability of environment and the managers plans for the player. Best example of this is Maitland-Niles went to Ipswich and flourished while Nkethia went to Leeds and barely got a game. I always think we miss a trick with the loan market specially as a team on a tight budget. If we dedicate ourselves to getting in 2 or 3 loans every season and really developing them as players we’d be a very attractive proposition for

  22. This day 1981 Bobby Murdoch signed Bobby Thomson from Greenock Morton in September 1971, started his 1st game this day 3rd October away to WBA, wearing the No4 shirt replacing Colin Ross Unfortunately we lost the game 2-0 on a poor season that seen us basically struggle from the season kickoff Bobby Thomson went on to make history later on in the season! 23. Boro flashback & a day many of us who are old enough to remember thought this day would not happen, the mighty Boro were playing 'our' 1st real home game after coming through the awful summer of 1986 when the whole future of our fantastic football club was in the balance, yes we played Port Vale in the opening fixture of the season at home ( Hartlepool) The day the 6th September 1986, when an attendance at Ayresome Park of 6,499 seen the Boro defeat Bury by 3 goals to one, with a brace from Archie Stephens & a Bernie strike Two win out of the 1st 3 games is good in anyone's

Something picked up on in the announcement. A Freudian slip or an oversight on McNair's part? "The 24-year-old extends his stay on Teesside until 2027 and, after Dael Fry and Jonny Howson, he is the club’s longest serving senior player currently in the dressing room." McNair would be ahead of Jones having joined the year prior. And it surely isn't related to injuries as Fry is also out. Seems strange to mention it and not to check. Not that it will come as much of a surprise to anyone that McNair is leaving. And given the contracts have started being handed out, it perhaps alludes to the club switching focus to next season already. Sure Carrick has said in the past that they wouldn't worry about them until the summer.

Club taking character into account along with ability as they believe that harmony in squad very important so if they think someone could be a disruptive force, they will avoid. You can be certain that Dieng will have been asked about Willock and Chair and the fact that they are still with QPR tells you other clubs have reservations. European signings viewed as mostly successful so we can take it for a fact that we will be in the market if the right people are available

Think injuries haven’t helped Jones this season. Hopefully we will see a better version next season if he stays fit

Happy Jones has signed a new contract, still think he's our best attacking option by far, shame he's so inconsistent but if he wasn't he wouldn't be playing in the Championship. I might be in the minority here, but i'm honestly not bothered if McGree leaves. We've barely seen anything from him this season and if the rumours of him still having a sulk on about not being allowed to move last summer are true, I don't want him at our club. Been re-watching our 96/97 season review and wantaway players like Emerson are bad for the team.
