  1. Introduction Nearly 9 months after my last matchday thread I have fetched my dusty box of gifs from the loft ready for action. Ironically my last thread was our away trip to Brentford last season which ended in a 3-2 loss. Since then not much has been going on right? Empty stadiums have become the new norm and, dare I say it, seems to be suiting us just fine. Flourishing under Warnock we are unbeaten since the first game of the season filling the fans with a strange and surreal sense of optimism Although there has been one too many draws for the liking of mo

  4. This is exactly what the government wants you to think. Thats the easy explanation isn't it, just blame each other. The government has made a complete *** of the last 9 months and they've cost 10s of thousands of people their lives in the process. We were far too late to lockdown in March, we literally had weeks and weeks to plan and prepare for what was coming and the government did nothing. You could see what was spreading around Europe and we somehow thought we knew better. It would have been easier to control the spread compared to countries in Europe because we are an is

  6. A true story that made me chuckle to myself today It was that time of year where I had to complete some mandatory training of which a lot of it is online (Defence Learning Environment or DLE) So I finished my unconscious bias awareness but for some reason I couldn’t print out the results to prove I had done it. My RSM (From the Welsh Guards) said and I quote “ With me being English he doesn’t trust me “ and now I have to do it again. And yet somehow he doesn’t see the irony in that 🤷‍♂️

  7. Totally agree i think the media like the Sun and Mail then people like Cummings/Farage/Johnson play that role over here. Unfortunately there are some self-righteous lefties that don't engage in debate and automatically label people racist/thick etc. I feel things like this caused the uprising of Trump and Brexit. An example recently was Chris Pratt not joining the Marvel cast at a democrat rally. Automatically people called him racist and scum yet he has never pledged his support for either party. But I have seen a lot of that on several issues. That stuff drives people further the other

  8. It seems so long since the side Farage has been supporting has lost which for me is refreshing. His interview on GMB was embarrassing he used the term Fake News and denied Trump mentioned injecting bleach/disinfectant despite them playing the clip for him. The idea 20 years ago of people getting more involved with politics seemed great. Unfortunately highlighted in the USA and to some extent Britain, people with ill-educated have the power to speak and influence a wider audience and people will see it as gospel (ie Republicans wanting all postal votes to be discredited). I don't th

  9. It's mad seeing the MAGA Twitter response to Fox News calling Michigan. After 4 years of basically seeing it as gospel, now they're considering a boycott, calling Fox part of the fake news media. It's actually scary how in they go with the President's word. He comes out with bullshit that Twitter has finally decided to take him to task for that most media outlets also say is bullshit and baseless accusations and they believe him. If that's not a cult, I don't know what is.

  11. I'm talking only about his habit of blasting a ball way over the net. He's a striker, he does score goals in open play but he lacks the finesse to hit standing balls. He should be nowhere near a free kick or a penalty despite him having scored both at different times in his career and so he should. He has a disturbing propensity to argue over who is taking it and then launching it towards the nearest satellite. Here is Vicker's article from 2018 on that Reading Penalty: "The spot-kick flew high over the bar. Not a few inches or even a few feet. It was ‘skied’ in textbook fashion. It

I have started a small gambling project: I have chosen a site (888) and deposited 200 £ I will play the Yankee system (4 games = 6 doubles, 3 triples and all 4 games as a quad) which is 11 bets total! The aim is 2500 £ and then full stop - And also full stop if bust If my bankroll is more than 500 £ I will place 10 £ per bet (110 £) If my bankroll is between 300 and 500 £ I will place 6 £ per bet (66 £) If my bankroll is between 100 and 300 £ I will place 3 £ per bet (33 £) If my bankroll is below 100 £ I will place 1 £ per bet (11 £) My first 33 £ is on the following : Benfi

  13. @Duvel The Government tender process needs to be seriously reviewed after the pandemic. We need some real heavy checks and balances on it. There are countless stories of some unscrupulous dealings surrounding the processes at the moment. I saw that a firm linked to the Tory party was given a £3 Million contract, without going through the tender process. Then there are the countless stories of Tory donor's getting contracts worth hundreds of millions, of which the businesses are not delivering what they've been paid to do. Then worst of all there are "Special Procurement Channels" for VIP'

  17. in the second half vs forest the young lads really started to try and express themselves and play. its confidence brewing. if coulson and spence get us goals they will be really dangerous. spence looks so much better now. hes really grew into the team i'm sure coulson will before to long. we need more from them as johnson isnt good enough is he. tav needs a goal to. they will be inconsistand as young lads are but hopefully it will be better as we more along.

  20. I know that the hope is people can still see each other at Christmas and that this 4-week thing will help that to happen but we've always dealt with this as if Christmas is all but cancelled, keeping it in the household, at best we hope my Granddad and brother can make it to our Mam's house as they're on their own if they don't. Also @AnglianRed, I think it's fair to say we're never going to agree on this so I'm gonna leave it there, we've both said our bit now amongst others and as per the above, just thinking about Christmas with COVID in our lives only makes me want to wish people well

  21. Well, we were competitive at Brentford with Woodgate in charge. Arguably, the team we will put out on Saturday will be better than the one we put out in that game, and at the same time, the Brentford team will be worse. I don't suppose any of that really means anything mind but I think we should feel confident about being able to get a result of some sort down there.

  23. Chris Pratt is almost definitely a Republican. Also people call him scum because the church he goes to is incredibly right wing, opposed to gay marriage, anti-abortion etc. I'm not saying Pratt himself holds those beliefs, but it says a lot about a person's character if that's the company they choose to keep. Going to say, whatever his actual beliefs, Chris Pratt doesn't help himself with the associations he has.

  24. I'm not so sure about Pennsylvania still but it's maybe worth saying that I think (based on some back of a fag packet maths) if the current trend of the absentee ballots held then Biden would win the state by about 240,000 votes, despite being currently about 160,000 votes behind. The current trend of the mail-in ballots is nearly 80% in Biden's favour though, which doesn't even come close to matching up to the rest of the vote there. I suspect that there's quite a lot more Trump votes that are still to be counted. There's about 700,000 votes still estimated to be counted there (working f

  32. It's gone down but I suspect Trump still has it. It would be nice if Biden can take somewhere like Georgia just to make it feel like more of a success and not just feed Trump's cult followers into thinking the election is still on. Either way, it's dreadful after the last 4 years that this is as close as it is. It's dreadful after the last 6 months even. It really goes to show that whilst Biden is doing a better job than Hilary, the Democrats can't put a decent candidate forward. If they're worried about socialist Biden in Florida then thank God they didn't select Bernie in the end... or

  36. McNair was trying to blast it through the wall, it was on target, his execution was as he intended with the hope that it sneaked through a gap or deflected and in. The wall done its job and stood up, thats down to good defending not reckless, wayward, shooting. No different to had Britt curled it over, towards the top corner and Pears pulled off a great save. In that sense McNair failed, I haven't a problem with things not coming off but I'd have a problem if McNair repeated that with the same effect on a regular and predictable basis. When Britt grabbed the ball I uttered out loud,

  37. Exactly right. im also sure NW realizes all this and will be working on it. When you think about it though, it must be easier to start by making the defense and midfield more organized and get a secure foundation - which he has done. To instill discipline into players and make sure they are covering each other and doing their job properly is fundamental and it’s a real indictment of Woodgate as a coach, that as a International defender, he couldn’t even do that. I think it is more difficult with forwards. You want them to be unpredictable to the opposition, but predictable to their

  38. And that is precisely the reason that Britt shouldn't have attempted to get it up, over and back down again. Passing it back to McNair or Tav standing behind him, or even one of them passing it back to Britt himself to get it over the wall or knocking it to one side to Saville or McNair would have made more sense or even a McNair blast into someones jewels in the hope the Wall flinched or found a gap would have all been preferable.

  40. Hoofing it into row 30 is just plain crude and very limited. If it was a one off then fair enough but its not the first time he has displayed such a lack of composure and finesse when skill was required. That he thought he was the best one to take the kick also showed a lack of objectivity in his role as Captain. A free kick from that position required some guile and subtlety that he lacked the wit to identify, that he then sent it skywards doesn't display a strikers instinct to me.

  41. Speaking of Facebook have you seen the "immunologists" changing professions to "Lawyers"? There are people that believe you can flaunt the COVID rules if you cite Article 61 of the Magna Carta. Unfortunately what they don't realise is that article 61 (and much of the Magna Carta) only relates to the original Baron's that rebelled against the King. 😂😂😂

  42. With the snap of a finger the Danish government has ordered that all mink in Denmark shall be put down and burned. We have more than 1100 farms and is the worlds leading breader and manufacturer of mink fur. They have found mutations of the virus and just be sure that it doesn't develop any further they are just going to exterminate all. Only 67 farms have so far had sick animals. It's a huge blow to the entire industry and the industries that supply them. The industry will most likely not survive this and could close completely as a result. So get yourself a mink coat. It will be in short sup
