It is progress. People need to remember where we nearly ended up last season. I can't believe the moaning.6 points

I can't understand how anyone can sit there and say this is the same as Pulis. It is closer to what we saw under Karanka though I still wouldn't say it's really the same. It really goes to show just how pathetic Pulis' brand of defending is, there's very little thought that goes into it, it's just "More men in defence and midfield means less goals conceded." Any two-bit manager could defend like that and it didn't even keep us clean sheets, Randolph still had to work hard to keep the ball out the goal. Even worse, it made us terrible at attacking and scoring goals because nobody was ever5 points

Boro have conceded 5 goals this season. The least in the top 4 divisions in England5 points

Sometimes I do think fans suffer from revisionism. We remember the good stuff in retrospect and forget a lot of the bad. In our amazing 2006, the football was so bad at times, a fan ended up throwing his season ticket at the manager. There were times under Karanka where we couldn’t seem to buy a goal, and when half the team and manager seemed to be at war with one another. I’m enjoying seeing the team spirit under Warnock, long may the improvement continue.5 points

So you’d rather draw 3-3 then win 1-0? When I watch footy on TV, it’s for entertainment, but when it comes to my own team I couldn’t give a toss about entertainment. Results no matter the cost.4 points

It’s better than Pulis. Both were light years better than Woodgate. We were in the deepest possible *** no more than 4 months ago. I don’t think we are good enough to go up but I’m just happy that we are competing in this division. Enjoy it and let’s see where we go.3 points

Before most of the games we've played, most of the unhappy posters have expressed their belief in a worse result than we've actually got, then complained when we have done better than they thought we would. We all know it isn't pretty but it is still 100% better than last year and virtually every player has shown a willingness to work for a result. Maybe I am old-fashioned for thinking supporters should praise the team more than criticise it but some just seem to be obsessed with nit-picking their way through a game. Nobody played badly, some played better than others. The Norwich game will pr3 points

I'd take the draw myself, but I'm still confused by Warnock's reluctance to use substitutions. Wing has been anonymous, it's not going to weaken us bringing him off.3 points

Coulson and Spence work hard but I'm not convinced they are good attacking footballers. Loose passes, erratic crosses and very little goal prowess. Their only attacking feature is get it and run and hope for the best. No wonder we score so few goals.3 points

Fantastic point away from home. Keep the points rolling over till January hope we get 1/2 wide men how can score/assist. Fantastic effort from all the players at least we can be proud of them . Makes a massive difference in to your week looking forward to a game UTB2 points

I think this is brilliant. Look how things have turned around. Say what you want about NW but it's been a bloody long time since we had the chance to have a bit of a moan (this is not a dig by the way DR) about not doing enough to be top of the league. Personally I was hoping for a bit more attacking intent today. But then again. I do not have anything like the tactical nonce that NW has. What we want to see and what the team can realistically produce are the reason NW is here. 10 games unbeaten!! Last season it was 10 games continually beaten. That's one hell of a turnaroun2 points

Warnock isn't going to change his methods at 97 years of age, especially when his record is so good in this division. It seems like the club are happy with the direction we are going as are the majority of fans so nothing is going to change. We have improved enormously from when he took over and I think he's got most of our players playing close to their potential, I know everyone wants to see attacking football but I'm happy with how things are going on the whole.2 points

Some people just have an agenda against Warnock, point blank. Many on here were predicting a relegation scrap this season. I agree it’s disappointing to an extent that Roberts didn’t get on for the last 2 games, but if you’re arguing Warnock’s currently doing a bad job then it’s pretty obvious you just don’t like the man2 points

what did i miss? fans calling for Warnocks head yet? Decent point i thought, again.2 points

I know what the question was mate. I'm saying that the question is the problem, don't you see that? I don't think Sanddancer's point was to explore the best way to accumulate six points. He's saying that greater ambition might lead to more than that, whilst pointing out that if it didn't work out as well as we'd hoped, it might not actually work out worse, which is the mindset on here.2 points

I mean... only 3 teams have scored less goals than us in the whole league. We’ve scored 4 in our last 7 games. We practically play with full backs with wing backs in front of them. For much of this season we have started with 5 at the back with 3 defensive minded midfielders in front of them. We are in exactly the same position in the league as Pulis left us. Honestly, the only difference is expectation.2 points
-
At risk of sounding like a broken record.. if we don’t add real attacking quality in January I don’t think we go up. If we do I seriously fancy our chances.2 points
-
We simply draw far to many games and we are set up to score by fluking a set piece. However our set pieces are horrendous. I thought Warnock would be coaching us set piece routines2 points
-
Totally agree with this. Add a fit Robert’s and Fletcher and we have lots of options. Great to go 10 unbeaten without these players available. Don’t forget how bad we were only a few months ago under JW. I’m definitely happier to be pushing for promotion rather than fighting relegation.2 points

The majority would’ve taken a point before kick off, defended excellently again and passed well at times, without any real penetration in the final third. Can’t grumble with the job Warnock is doing at all2 points

What’s not to like about that performance again today? Fantastic game management again by Warnock. We are definitely going to be in the mix at the end of the season2 points

Am I the only one delighted with a point against Brentford? This morning I would have settled,..That's 7 games now without conceding a goal...You have to give credit for that...Well done lads2 points
-
Is it? We are playing full backs as our wingers, and playing with 1 completely isolated striker up top. It’s exactly the same as 2 years ago. The only difference is the expectation is now lower. It’s been a Steve Gibson masterclass.2 points

Pulis would of been absolutely crucified for this but well done on Warnock on making us so hard to beat and getting results👍. I have always said I don't mind watching boring football, providing that it gets us results. Only criticism I have atm is his substitution are too much like for like for me. Wouldn't of mind seeing us go Britt and Akpom up top together for last 20mins or change the shape in someway - but he can justify his decisions with getting points on the board, I just feel if we went for it in the last 20mins of games against Blackburn and today that we could of got more2 points
-
There's different versions of being defensive, at the height of the Pulis criticism we were literally playing with 10 men behind the ball. This isn't great to watch but its far more positive than Pulis served up. We are actually committing bodies forward when we have the ball.2 points
-
God we are BORING. I will never celebrate a 0-0 draw with that little attacking intent. We used to batter these every time under Karanka, now we're somehow blessed to scrape a point away at the mighty Brentford. So bored of watching us set up for a draw. Any manager can do that. Stop fannying about and get Roberts and Tav up the pitch in support of 2 strikers. Zzzzzzzz.2 points
-
Certainly not the worst point you'll pick up all season, we made them look bloody ordinary but goodness me, some actual quality in the final third and we could have taken all 3. It was good to see us still go for it at the end and not give them a chance to even get into our half very often in the last 10 minutes or so. I just think ffs, if Roberts comes on even for those last 5-10 minutes, he could make a difference.2 points

Saying Johnson and Britt might come on, I just don't understand what on Earth that does for us. Just more of the same when we need something to change.2 points

Half time summary: Wing is rubbish Coulson and Spence aren’t wingers Gibson has played an absolute blinder these last 2 years. Warnock is now being lauded for something Pulis was slated for 2 years ago. Please please please put on some attacking players!2 points

I think Akpom has done a lot better then Britt has. Actually worked there defenders in the air and challenged for balls. Won some free kicks aswell.2 points

A lot of speculation on here about Roberts being used sparingly because he apparently has spaghetti legs (uncooked, that is). Admit I was surprised as anyone to see Coulson & Spence up front, but everyone is always complaining they can't defend, so at least they're less likely to make any costly mistakes there.2 points

So pleased for Bola. He's really looking like a good allround fullback at this level. Played some quality balls forward first half.2 points

This makes no sense. The voters are abiding to the rules set out by the state of when they have to get their votes in for - ie sent by the date of closure. The rule was set before and does not benefit either candidate more than the other because their supporters are living by the same rules. It would be like the state saying you can vote up until the 3rd, then people showing up at the polls and being told "nah, you can't vote now because you could have done it last week instead". No goalposts have been moved, everyone had the exact same ability to vote in this way whether red or blu2 points

Goddamit. Started off strong but ranked in the later stages. I demand a recount stop all votes2 points

that was their best chance. there was a bit of a scrabble and we cleaed away from the line second half. thats as good as it got for them. last 15 they looked tired and gave the ball away in their half a few times we flopped every opportunity without testing the keeper really. apart from a wing chance at a narrow angle he hit hard but keeper well behind it to force it over. routine save really.1 point

I don't think there's a great deal to say for either of our strikers right now. They're being supported by two full-backs on the wing every game at the moment. It might not be the Pulis 'stick a man up front on his own' but the players around them aren't actually providing that much for them to work with which is still leaving both Akpom and Britt isolated. It's not getting the best out of the natural full-backs which is also not getting the best out of our strikers.1 point
-
Its close to call because we have not played enough games to make long term predictions but I do know we have drawn to many games and lack goals. Granted we have given some pretty good defensive displays but you don’t win too many not scoring goals and it’s only a matter of time before a manager cracks our defensive line. Now because we are a small squad and pretty much a herd of elephants then a pride of lions I’m staying with a mid table prediction. With the international break coming up I’m hopeful we may give it a go, but I’m also realistic in thinking NW won’t want to throw away a p1 point
-
brentford aren't all that, they lost their best 2 attackers and their best cb is missing this game. i dont think they'll even be pushing for promotion this season. they will lose to many games. toney isnt going to get 40 goals either mark him tight they'll struggle to break us down. we'll have them sussed today you watch. warnock is actually a good tactitian unlike the majoriy of managers we've had in the recent past.1 point

I could be wrong, but I think the second yellow was so soft that the referee knew exactly what he was doing when he did it. No chance he'd have given a yellow card for such a minor incident if he'd thought it was leading to a red card. -

Very lucky considering Martinez got two yellows but got away with it due to the penalties not being regarded as the same game, which doesn't really make sense to me -

Yeah, I get that. Like last night, Real Madrid were played off the park by Man City but have scraped through to a major semi-final because City couldn't finish and they've scrapped away goals. Tonight, Aston Villa were lucky to beat Lille on penalties, who were much the better team on the night.
