Could be worse we could sign an injury prone league one player who couldn’t find a club in the summer and last played well 4 years ago.13 points

Like a broken record honestly, just give it a rest Edit: And of course he would prefer to play for a Premier League club, in his early 30’s it’s nothing against us a club. You’re just looking for reasons to slate him5 points

Middlesbrough vs Birmingham Saturday 16th December – 12:30 pm (Sky Sports) Riverside Stadium The current standings: Boro find themselves in a healthy 7th position, 1-point shy of the playoffs and 7 points shy of an automatic spot. Birmingham on the other hand are having a disaster of a season, currently on a freefall into the relegation zone after 4 losses and 1 draw in their last 5 games. Evidence would suggest that this should be an easy Boro win, but we all know that’s not4 points

Only problem with that is his shots only go in if he's at least 30 yards out... 😉3 points

Newsflash: Guy with only attacking midfield qualities struggles when asked to defend and play deeper. Can only echo Wilson here. Wing has plenty of Championship quality. Tackling and running anywhere particularly quickly are not any of them, so why do we keep asking him to do it? Get him up the pitch and let him roam around the 18 yard box.3 points

That would be so Boro... At the risk of reigniting the argument, I can see why some are less than enthusiastic. Instead of pinning our hopes on a player who would rather be in the PL and sees us very much as a fall back option, I'd much rather NW found someone in the mould of Watmore...a decent lower-league player with the potential to improve and who would actually see Boro as a step up.3 points

You already know what’s going to happen. He’ll sign for us last minute, take a month to get fit, Warnock will hang back on putting him into the starting lineup, he’ll make a couple of sub appearances then get injured and miss the next couple of months.3 points

He had no control over the midfield or tempo of the game at all. Shirked 50/50s, weak in the tackle, slow to track back. He might have the odd good pass in him but he is NOT a central midfielder fit for the modern game.3 points

No. But I do not the ends of the twix then use it like a straw. The tea melts the caramel so when you it eat, it’s a taste sensation 😋 I URGE ALL TO TRY IT 👍2 points

Shock horror. A professional footballer only has the Championship as second choice. And also the fact that you have no idea whether that is true. Ï'd also argue that he was pretty consistent at a small club called Sportïng Lissabon last season where he also played in the Euro League.2 points

Bolasie will go to the wire as Everton try and recoup any kind of fee. Probably hoping someone like Big Sam will take a punt on him. I imagine there’s two factors in play for Roberts organising where he goes next. It’s not great for him at a boro but he has more chance of playing than he does stuck at City. secondly I think Warnock will be hesitant to let him go without a replacement signed sealed an delivered. we could be on the verge of a promotion push and he won’t want to weaken the squad especially as we are a small one to start with and Watmore is still a fitness gamble.2 points

I honestly thought Wing played alright against Brentford. Some of his passing was superb during the game.2 points

Stoke signed a very promising left back on loan from Sheff Utd. Norrington-Davies. Had a great first half of season at Luton but been recalled by Sheff Utd and sent to stoke to cover for the injured Morgan Fox Stoke also signed a highly rated winger from Schalke earlier this week on loan. i think they strength in depth will see them secure a play off spot. They got a good squad.1 point

Sheff Utd finally got a win against Newcastle tonight. Gonna be some nervous horses around the Toon tonight 🤜 🐴1 point

Ben Whiteman DRFC cm is decent and has a bid in for him from PNE , with interest from others including Forest and Derby . £1.5m knocked back , it would take a bit over that to get him .edit - bid accepted by PNE . Missing a trick here . Goalscoring box to box midfielder , 8 goals 7 assists this season , 6ft 1in , age 24 , captain , leader . Ticks all the boxes , he would suit us , I would love us to go for him. Could fill in as centre half when needed . Like Paddy . also like st Johnstone CM Ali McCann , age 21 , talented lad . I would also be happy with Mowatt , Alan Browne ,1 point

Fair points. Its never easy unearthing genuine talent from smaller clubs and bringing them in at bargain prices...thats the dream. Proven talent can also work, but it depends very much on the attitude of the player. Some can feel they are too good for a club and may not put in the effort. Whereas a player with a point to prove will obviously give that much more.1 point

Totally agree proven talent is the way this window, win our game in hand and we're only 4 points off second. We have a real chance to go up this season, Norwich only real stand out team this year and we probably should have beat them.1 point

i think this is difficult to find though, alot harder and much more risky getting than a proven champ/prem standard playeron loan. also, i dont think its a viable option to buy youth prospects in january as you will likely pay over the odds and they might not slot in straight away. the january window is more commonly for plugging gaps in the current to help you acheive your seasons goals which is why i personally think bringing proven talent is better option.1 point

he got 5 assists and 2 goals in 21 games at villa (Assisting or scoring a goal every 3 games), hardly a bad return, especially when you factor in that he only started 9 of those games so much of this was done coming of the bench. futhermore, those stats are pretty much better than anyone else at the club currently as the highest number of asissts from a player this season is george saville and marvin johnson who both have 4 in 21 games respectively. and both have taken far more game time to acheive this compared to bolasie.1 point

It doesn't get much easier than this. Karanka will be after revenge and I still vividly remember his Forest side dismantling us here. Many looking at this expect a Boro win, but surprisingly all I see is defeat! Clearly back on a roll with predictions, I'm going for a 3 nil away win.1 point

Hackney hasn't been in the squad the last two games after making a fleeting appearance on the bench a couple of weeks ago. He's not ready to start a game. I think it'll be mcnair in for ayling like you say but I reckon vdb starts at right back like early on in the season. The rest will be unchanged but with greenwood in for silvera. -
That sounds perfect to me, thanks.

Teacider has stuck a thread up if you just want to take it easy and do the next one when you're feeling better? -
If Dijksteel does not start this, then the writing really is on the wall for him, if its jot already anyway. I actually don't think he will start. I think Paddy will come in and we will change to a wing back system with Jones and Engel - which will say a lot about what MC thinks of Dijksteel in not trusting him at RB or as a 3rd CB (he played his best football there for us) Also would not be surprised to see Hackney replace Greenwood and plsy in an advanced role but rather Silveria or Gilbert there: Dieng Paddy VDB Clarke Jones Howson O'Brien Engel Silveria LL Azaz
