  1. In terms of ability, Fisher is a good defender. He has good pace, is very aggressive, can get up and down, and is good 1 vs 1. However he is quite a volatile character and gets booked very regularly for silly things, and at times ends up being a bit of a liability. One of his defensive weaknesses is that he isn't strong in the air defending his back post. If Warnock can get the best out of him, like Neil has in spells, he will be a decent signing for you on the cheap. He does miss a fair few games with small niggles sometimes and that maybe hinders his consistency. Not sure why

  5. Really hope Warnock stays for next season. Tonight was awful, and we've had some abject home performances this month, but overall I've enjoyed this season and feel far closer to the club than I have since Karanka left.

  6. There's hardly a mocking throng and there's hardly anyone here that expects him to pull up trees. There is only you writing him off entirely, however.

  7. Snowblind, I agree. Sometimes my passion gets the better of me. In reality there are far, far bigger issues happening, sadly.

  8. We are all willing to give a player a chance before writing him off. Its something i wont do now after seeing what warnock has done to several players who have all be wrote off. Djicksteel, bola, fry, johnson, saville. Watmore was released by league one sunderland but came here. Started great and soon had interest from PL teams

  9. We got beat tonight by a team that played better than we did. They had a centre forward that was prepared to come back into his own half to get the ball, then hold onto it and pass it at the right time. They had more than one defender willing to attempt to win the ball in the air. They were willing to try and go past people if they had the opportunity. They made spaces for each other instead of getting in the way. Their goalkeeper had a decent game, ours did not. They had defenders who knew how to defend and that is more important than knowing how to attack. Their experienced lads looked after

  10. Yes Howson makes mistakes but he also does some really good stuff throughout the game so that's why he doesn't get criticised imo, whereas someone like Spence is sh*te for the whole 90minutes and offers nothing offensively or defensively.

  12. I expect a report from Robin Johnson in the next few hours to tell us how Bolasie's micro expressions actually show that he's unhappy and doesn't want to be here. It will, of course, be irrefutable.

  13. This would be true if football, or any sport for that matter, was an exact science. Thankfully it’s not. If all you need is fact and logic to make a watertight case then you should get the fixed odds up every Saturday. You won’t because sometimes Sheffield Utd beat Man Utd at Old Trafford.

  14. 👋 Neil, I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing on the football pitch either, can I play at the weekend. (P’s I’ll be a lot cheaper than Bolasie)

  15. I'm neither excited nor devastated by the news. It's a new option for the wings, we need that. It's perhaps worth bearing in mind the state Gaston Ramirez's career was in before we brought him in on loan that time. I'm not sure it was quite as bad as Bolasie's is now but he was also sat around not doing much, hadn't done much for Southampton in a while or Hull when he was there... and came in to light up our team. I'm not expecting that level of turnaround but then I don't think anybody was expecting that with Ramirez too. In both situations, I'm not expecting much at all. I do think

  16. I assume we'll be changing the manager too if that's the lineup we'd be starting with!

  17. Just been looking at fishers stats and he has had 11 assists in the last couple of seasons which is a great return for a right back

  20. Favourite was by a country mile - Christian Ziege! I would of said Geremi as I think he's the best loan signing we have ever made personally, but he played more RM Least favourite - Djed Spence 😂.TBF It's really Justin Hoyte but Spence reminds me so much of him.

  21. Some selected bits: " Selling Darnell for 300k to a Championship rival isn’t the brightest of ideas?" "It’s been alluded to on here that Neil rates him, but those above don’t" "Depends on how good you think Darnell is. I just want someone that doesn’t have to be subbed every game due to being at risk of sending off." "Strange season... before we started we would have all agreed that; Fisher, Davies, Pearson, Johnson would all be first on the team sheet. We’re going in to the second half of the season without 3 of them..."

  22. Yes, but only for a few months. At least he's a known quantity to Warnock, who's presumably happy to bring him here based on that prior knowledge.

  23. He was rubbish first time he was here, would rather he buggered off back to denmark

  24. We've already got someone on here with a visceral dislike of Bolassie. Who's going to take on the same role with Fisher, now we've apparently had an offer for him accepted? Anyone unable to hear the name Darnell without wanting to spit on the floor or kick the cat?

  25. I really hope we don't sign him, I've heard he's rubbish.

  27. Would have to say that looking at the Blackburn goal it’s Spence at fault. He initially sees the danger comes inside gets on the wrong side of his man and lets him run off him. Howson is blind to it all. I would have like him to have gone a bit deeper when Blackburn went wide but other than that I would be looking at Spence on this one.

  28. He didn't take Howson's man. Spence was marking his man, which was Rothwell, and that's why he ended up where he was on the pitch. Howson at first tracked Armstrong and then left him because that isn't his man. and neither is Rothwell either. He then looked at where Rothwell was and changed direction to move towards our area when he thought Rothwell was going to run behind him but he didn't make the run. Howson did the right thing there, cos there was danger in that potential run. However, at that point Howson switches off completely, despite the fact that he is the last man at that poin

  29. Know what you mean what is it with Boro and home matches in January? The thing is had we played Rotherham when we should have done I believe this would not have been the outcome, in fact our momentum took a turn for the worse because of the cancellation

  30. My ideal window. Sell wing for a good fee, get Mowatt cheap. Sell Britt for a few million (if he won’t sign) sign a cheap and good replacement or a loan ST. Sign new contract for Fletcher. Sign a solid RB

  31. Bolasie has an incentive to play well as he needs to earn a contract with someone as he is out of one in summer. We lose nothing if he's a dud - apart from the wage contribution we are paying. It might not work out but one things for sure it isn't going to be a disaster that we end up paying for for years like Gesetede!

  32. Well we will see. If I am wrong I will admit it. How many of the mocking throng will do the same if he turns out to be the dud I expect. Orderly queue, please, gents!!!!

  34. I think Morsy has been exactly what we expected, whether or not we needed him is another question. Akpom looks to me to be as good as Britt but at 20% of the cost, now whether a budget Britt is what we want or indeed need is again open to debate. Had Britt been sold then it would have looked a good bit of business I suppose. Neither Akpom or Morsy have "improved" the team, they have just bulked out the squad. So far Hall has been unlucky but I wasn't altogether overwhelmed by what I saw before his injury. Fry and McNair seem better so again apart from bulking out the squad it's debateable

  35. I don't think there's anyone you can absolve of blame for that *** show. The team lacked cohesiveness, direction and a plan. This blame lies with Warnock. As far as on the pitch performances go, no player did themselves any justice. Some were worse than others. We were a shambles from front to back. Never thought i'd see a Warnock team put in a performance like that.

  36. Your facts would have said Gaston Ramirez would have been rubbish too. The lad was on his way out of European football, going back to Uruguay, and he turned out to be the best attacking player we've ever had in the Championship since '09. We get it, you don't want him here. But as far as we know now, he's signing. Get behind the lad. You gain absolutely nothing by being right.

  38. I like writing them off before they've played therefore I'm right if they are crap, but if they are good I'm happy to be the idiot at the expense of us heading to the Prem 🙏

  39. @Robin Johnson. Can I make a suggestion. Your views on Bolasie are very well known. I and all our fans have been in a similar situation to you where we either sign someone we do not want or sell someone we feel is worth keeping. However, if he signs, can I advise you just see how it goes and we can discuss the pros and cons of his impact at end of season? At the moment you are simply repeating the reasons you are not a fan of the bloke and those reasons are fully known to us all. I say this more for your sake than other posters.

  40. I completely agree. Just a shame it's going to take a month for him to get up to speed imo as I don't think we will see the best out him until at least March which doesn't give him enough time to make a massive impact I fear.

  41. You're absolutely mad if you don't realise Bolasie is a very good player at championship level
    2 points
  42. 442 would be fine. Roberts best position is 10. Wing as an advanced midfielder. Howson back in a back 3 to play 343 or 532. We have more options than Warnock is claiming.

  43. I'm well chuffed with the Bolasie signing, can't believe the attitude some people have to him. He played 25 games at Sporting Lisbon last year and is an exciting player who brings some much needed flair to the side.

  44. We should be all over this. Never know if he want some big ££££ though

  45. If Bolasie had been playing for Everton’s u23’s he could come straight in. No one is denying he’s a decent signing, but if he’s not fit to start and make an instant i pace then I’d rather we looked elsewhere. It does reek of desperation. Hope he proves me wrong!

  46. We all get Robin Johnson doesn't like Bolasie, there's nothing new to discuss around that. Hopefully Bolasie proves him wrong, and I'm sure he'd admit it, but I'm not overly hopeful myself.
