  1. Well in order to get support for a cause, you have to make people sympathetic towards you. I'm not sure how you expect to achieve that by *** people off and generally messing up their daily lives...which is largely all Extinction Rebellion did. When you get people willing to put their own (and potentially other peoples') lives at risk like that lunatic who climbed on the roof of a tube train, as well as spreading blatantly inaccurate scaremongering stories that fly in the face of established facts, all you're doing is undermining any sympathy and support for a very important and wort

  4. So if Fletcher does bad rest season he'll stay. If he does excellent scores goals so we promoted he'll stay. If he does excellent but we just miss out on promotion like lose in playoffs he'll go to a Sheffield United or Westbrom who can pay him 25k+ in wages. Is how I see it

  5. It would be great for the playoffs if all the teams involved had their home semi-final after 17th May. I feel it would be very unfair if one team couldn't have home supporters due to the date and then the other team was allowed them. The team which was allowed the home supporters would have a significant advantage over the team which hadn't been. I tried to look up the semi-final dates, but can only find the dates for the finals.

  6. There's a difference between an extreme situation and am extreme human reaction to it. I agree the planet is dying through overpopulation and rapacious consumerism, but sabotage is hardly going to win the debate. Racism is very different as it's a human construct, but I still think there's a lot more public focus on the problems of bigotry than on the flaws of those fighting to eradicate it. I criticise BLM because I disapprove of some of their attitudes (abolish the police, etc), but that doesn't mean I'm oblivious to the entrenched attitudes they stand up against.

  7. I know this has been argued about on here before, but you can be opposed to racial inequality without supporting BLM. That movement has some extremists attached to it who have rather subverted its original intentions, and the various strands constituting BLM are hard to disentangle. I deplore bigotry and intolerance (I've suffered it myself for much of my life), but I also dislike BLM's militancy. Both statements can be true at the same time.

  9. Be nice for the playoffs 🙂 also if we do make it the Riverside is largest capacity stadium out of the top 6 sides so we should be allowed the most fans for the home leg. Then at Wembley should be enough tickets for all season ticket holders to get the chance reward for buying a season ticket during covid. On what will be a magical day as boro finally win at Wembley

  11. And if we win ourselves we will only be outside playoffs due to our crap GD.

  12. Definitely keep the same team if everyone is fit. Be good to see Bolasie on the bench but other than that I am happy. memorable woodgate moment has to be picking up my winnings on him being appointed. Thought it was the selection that Gibbo would make. For my lawyers I would go with Michael Reiziger apparently he has impressive briefs

  13. You can put your hands behind your back whilst still facing the ball. In fact there is more chance of the ball striking your side on hand(s) when you can't see it coming at you. I agree the handball rule is stupid and needs changing Also - why don't referees penalise clear diving instead of just waving away the claims for a foul/penalty?

  15. Can quite a few people please post on this thread to move it onto page 93, so we don't have to look at that disturbing pair of moobs and the busty Queen pic any more? They're really not nice to look at while drinking coffee with milk in.

  16. I am not sure if this the right place to make this comment and apologies if its been said before but it does appear increasingly likely NW will be here next season and I look out for little hints in what he says. Today during press conference when asked about if he worried about Fletcher wanting to wait until end of season before deciding if he signs new deal Warnock said “i am not worried at all. I will find a replacement for him. I will be looking to sign a new striker anyway”.

  17. Would you keep the same line-up from Saturday? I’d keep things exactly the same, including bringing on Johnson and NML to stretch them whether we are ahead or worse case chasing the game. Jonathan Woodgate has inexplicably been given the Bournemouth job until the end of the season. What is your most memorable moment from his disastrous tenure at Boro? It has to be "Nah it's lying though, people say that the league table tells the truth. It's not. Its lying" along with all of those tetchy Sky Sports interviews with Caroline Barker like the "with one shot on target was there a cal

  19. Would you keep the same line-up from Saturday? I’d bring Hall in and move Dijksteel to right back. Jonathan Woodgate has inexplicably been given the Bournemouth job until the end of the season. What is your most memorable moment from his disastrous tenure at Boro? The table’s lyin’ You are George Saville’s lawyer. He is facing murder charges over the death of Neil Bausor. You must assemble a crack legal team to defend him in court. However, the budget is tight, and you can only choose from Middlesbrough players (past & present). Who do you pick, and why? Kai Kamar

  20. Would you keep the same line-up from Saturday? Yes. Jonathan Woodgate has inexplicably been given the Bournemouth job until the end of the season. What is your most memorable moment from his disastrous tenure at Boro? Probably his first game, to be honest. That 3-3 draw was a class game. You are George Saville’s lawyer. He is facing murder charges over the death of Neil Bausor. You must assemble a crack legal team to defend him in court. However, the budget is tight, and you can only choose from Middlesbrough players (past & present). Who do you pick, and why? Can

  27. Because you brought it up? To be quite frank I think it's a good thing that Lewis Hamilton uses his platform to inspire more black drivers to enter F1, while highlighting racial injustice in the world at the same time. But hey, I suppose in your little world

  29. He doesn't need to make signings at the moment. They've only signed him as head coach until the end of the season. Their squad is easily good enough to go up and they sacked Tindall to try and guarantee promotion. Therefore, if they don't go up, I can't see them keeping Woodgate in charge. If they do go up, and keep him in charge, then it would be easier for him to sign players for a Premier league team that's on the South coast and close to London than it was for a middling championship team from a small North East town that lots of people are prejudiced against.

  30. 1. Would you keep the same line-up from Saturday? Absolutely. Why change a winning team with confidence and momentum? Even Morsy played well, and he's been pretty meh for me since he joined us. 2. Jonathan Woodgate has inexplicably been given the Bournemouth job until the end of the season. What is your most memorable moment from his disastrous tenure at Boro? Lewis Wing's screamer against Luton live on Sky. It had my Celtic-supporting neighbour out of his seat as it went in, and for one game, I thought we might be onto something under Woodgate. How naive I was. 3. You are

  32. They'll be expecting promotion, we were expecting lower mid table and he couldn't deliver that. There's far more expectation on him now. I really can't understand the Boro fans saying they hope he does really well, makes absolutely no sense if you're a Boro fan to want the team we're chasing to do well.

  33. Would you keep the same line-up from Saturday? Yes I would. I'd be keeping the 352 for the rest of the season. Only changes I would make to the current team would be done when Yannick and Tav are back. Jonathan Woodgate has inexplicably been given the Bournemouth job until the end of the season. What is your most memorable moment from his disastrous tenure at Boro? Probably the first game of the season, the 3-3 draw with Luton where I felt that we might not be very good but it looked like it would be an exciting rollercoaster. Then it all fell apart. Although another memora

  34. I'd normally agree, but in some cases I think people earn the right to...and Hamilton would be one of those. He's the most successful driver in the history of the sport and he's basically made Mercedes his team. Its one thing trying to dictate to others when you've not really done anything, or your achievements are modest at best, but after a certain point, when you can be considered one of the all-time greats in your field, I think you come to see yourself as a leader and try to steer things the way you think they should go. You don't necessarily have to agree with them, but when yo

  35. I’ve met him a few times, he’s a lovely bloke, he’s quite shy and maybe that comes across as arrogance in interviews but he hasn’t changed much since I first met him during his time with McLaren days. So many people have a problem with him, but they really shouldn’t.

  37. So obvious that the Ref gave the red despite being in the best position to see it? Yes the linesman said it was a red but surely if it was that obvious the ref would have overruled him? Or maybe at full speed it wasn't that obvious?

Hackney hasn't been in the squad the last two games after making a fleeting appearance on the bench a couple of weeks ago. He's not ready to start a game. I think it'll be mcnair in for ayling like you say but I reckon vdb starts at right back like early on in the season. The rest will be unchanged but with greenwood in for silvera.

If Dijksteel does not start this, then the writing really is on the wall for him, if its jot already anyway. I actually don't think he will start. I think Paddy will come in and we will change to a wing back system with Jones and Engel - which will say a lot about what MC thinks of Dijksteel in not trusting him at RB or as a 3rd CB (he played his best football there for us) Also would not be surprised to see Hackney replace Greenwood and plsy in an advanced role but rather Silveria or Gilbert there: Dieng Paddy VDB Clarke Jones Howson O'Brien Engel Silveria LL Azaz
