  1. I think Chuba has every right to not want to play for Warnock after his comments about him a few weeks back...

  2. All-seater stadium? Bloody luxury! When I were a lad we had to sit on cold concrete steps and be grateful! 30k crowds for Premier League fixtures? I remember when Boro played in front of two blokes and a dog! And one of 'em were the bloody groundsman! Youngsters today don't know they're born...

  3. Fry absolutely wants to remain at the club. Has no plans to leave. He's a home boy and just moved into a new house in Nunthorpe 👍. I think the 3 previous managers talking about problems with players attitudes just highlights what's been wrong at the club for a long while. Luckily a few of them are moving on this summer. And they will be in a big shock when they don't get anywhere near the current money they are currently earning.

  5. The last 4 years have been genuinely horrendous but I can’t agree that this is worse than it was under Pulis. I mean under Pulis there were times we played a flat back 5 of shotton, ayala, flint, friend, Saville. 4 plodders in midfield and Britt stood up top with literally no one within 50 yards of him. At least this season Neil’s brought a bit of flair in general played people in their actual positions. Admittedly he appears to have lost his *** In this respect in the last few games. I’m not making a case for Warnock’s long term vision by the way, whatever the *** that is. Jus

  6. I used to think very highly of Gibson. Yes he puts a hell of a lot of money into the club, but he is just *** his money away with all these short term and backwards steps. He is how football used to be run. Our only recent bit of success was when Orta came in and the footballing decisions were taken out of his control? We took a gamble on Karanka and he brought a good restructuring and professionalism to the club. When it was going well people were waxing lyrical about how he transformed us into that. All the success he had has now been eroded. We appointed Agnew and waved

  8. This isn't the end game mate. The end game is a global franchise league, run along the same lines as the NFL over in the States. This would just be the first part of it, whether all of the clubs involved realise it or not. So you'd have a team in Tokyo, one or two in China probably Shanghai & Beijing, one or two in India, Delhi and Mumbai let's say. Bangkok gets a team, Dubai gets one, Seoul gets one, and there will be two in America - New York and Los Angeles. South and Central America get a few teams - Sau Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Africa gets one or possibly two to begin wi

  9. Good riddance, I *** despise the ‘top 6’ and everything they stand for. This provides an opportunity for a radical restructuring of English football - the top level could actually be made competitive again. If that opportunity is grasped, English football could be heading in a very exciting direction.

  10. Yeah, Wilson, that's what I was getting at, mate. The players who have been playing recently are mostly those we'd expect to be here next season, so who is he learning anything about? His comments after yesterday suggested disappointment with a number of players but the team was Archer, Fisher, Hall, McNair, Bola, Howson, Saville, Spence Kebano, Bolasie, Watmore. Fisher, Hall, McNair, Bola, Howson, Saville, Watmore will all be here next season, or it will be our intention to have them here at least. Kebano and Bolasie are on loan but he keeps picking them so I assume he would like them bac

  12. I absolutely knew that was coming yesterday when I saw he played the same players line up aside from the keeper. From the parts of the game I could stomach to watch and highlights after, the keeper seemed to do a solid job so he should defiantly get another game too see if he does the same again as actually he might be a okay backup keeper (as long as first one is Betenelli) for next season. Question, can anyone justify or understand why he played Britt? surely he of played someone who would be here next season and ideally as the game didn't matter someone like Fletcher who needs to get

  13. When Johnson was playing pre Christmas he delivered to the best of his ability which was more effective than that which we have seen since January from his replacements. At the end of last season when his contract was up and others jumped ship he stayed and fought so I doubt Johnson is in a clique but if he is, it is only that which Warnock has created through his own actions. Sadly for Warnock those cliques he has talked about within the Club are now manifesting within the fanbase in terms of attitudes and confidence in him. There were those who were totally against him from the off and

  22. As painful and frustrating as it has been for the fans for over a decade now SG is firstly and foremost a fan himself so he must feel the same pain and even more so in his pocket. It is difficult for any of us to look in the mirror and accept that we are not very good at something let alone stand aside for someone else to come in and no doubt undo everything we have done be it dodgy wallpapering or bodged joinery repairs. As difficult as that is most of the time we do acknowledge that we either don't have the skills or at least the time to do a proper job and employ the services of an exp

  26. I feel sorry for Johnson, was playing really well before Christmas, creating and scoring. Loan players come in, he doesn’t get a look in and we are worse for it. Spence and Coulson often get called out, alongside the strikers. I wouldn’t be surprised if Brit, Johnson, Akpom, Coulson and Fletcher are all pretty peed off and want away. I’m still supportive of Warnock but he needs to take some responsibility. The loan signings seem to have disrupted the team spirit. Too many all at once? Too many straight into the team? He clearly doesn’t rate any of our strikers and Fletcher annoyed him g

  29. It's an excellent article. Everything about him is exactly what we lack. Unfortunately we're stuck in the 1990's and there's no way that Gibson will never delegate his decision-making power to a Sporting Director like Webber. Webber handled relegation incredibly well by keeping to his core principles, having faith in Daniel Farke, retaining the core of the squad that won promotion in the previous season, and doing some shrewd transfer business to freshen up the squad. Contrast that with the absolute chaos of how Gibson handled relegation: sacking Karanka and Orta, appointing Monk and allo

I think the mentality of a young player who wants to prove themselves is far better than a seasoned player like Britt who doesn’t care. I also think that us as fans would be far more forgiving if they had minutes til the end of the season. Mistakes and nervousness from a player I can accept, but I know that they won’t lack for effort and desire, which seems like the players who have clocked out already are lacking.

  31. Yeah I agree with most of that, this squad is better than the league position we are in. Warnock hasn't got the best out of the team since January and that's a fact. For next season I'm assuming that the loan players will go back though so I was thinking of the squad without them. In my opinion we don't have a keeper, our back 4 is ok but the players there still make a number of mistakes and we need to be better there. I think we lack a quality player or two in midfield. Players like Howson and Saville are solid but they aren't players that will get you into the top 2 and we'll hav

  32. He certainly hasn't minced his words after today. I'd go so far as to say in his press conference, he's making a point to call out people who don't want to be here. I really have to ask who he means though. He's mentioned quite a lot of people by name in a relatively positive manner. He's very happy with Hall, McNair, Howson and Watmore, says they'll enjoy next season when he's got the squad he wants. Archer he's said has been working hard and from as much as 10 days ago, he'd promised him he'd be in for this one and for a couple of games. Spence, he's dragged through the mud today for th

  37. The premise of the article is that Real Madrid are a long ball side. Then you look at the table he has included and they only play 10% of passes long, which is the 2nd lowest in the league behind Barcelona, and less than half the percentage of the most direct teams in Spain. Their switches of play number is the second highest behind Sevilla, which tells you that the long passes they are making are across the pitch rather than down field as well. So they are not a long ball side at all in any way whatsoever. It's an article that directly contradicts the evidence that is presented in the art

  40. Same can be said for a few players. Why would you want to play for a manager whose beliefs about how to play football are absolutely guaranteed to not get the best out of you? Who will then blame you for not being the type of player he wants, rather than adapting his own ideas to try and get more from you. "Yes boss, I'm 5'10'' not 6'3'', sorry about that but other than wearing heals I'm not sure what I can do about it." If you play every week regardless of how well you play, and you never get any stick, then I dare say you'd be delighted to play for that manager. Of course the player pla

  43. Pretty depressing reading these posts, I have to say. If any of these rumours are true, we're gonna end up losing some of our best players, along with the dead wood. Just another reason for me not to have any hope next season, if Warnock is also alienating them, by continuing not to pick them when fit, or throwing them under the bus in press conferences. I guess we'll find out if he knows what he's doing come pre-season, but right now its not looking too clever.

  44. Utterly baffling and the whole clique situation also smacks of poor player management...something Warnock was supposed to be good at. Like a few others here I decided not to bother watching when I saw the starting lineup. His decision to bring Britt on almost seems like taking the mickey. Considering our season is over, as far as achieving anything is concerned, why on Earth not blood a few youngsters, or give more fringe players game time, just to see if there are any capable of stepping up and filling the gaps? I mean he's got nothing more to learn about the players that start

  47. @wilsoncgp great post that. I’ve just watched his press conference and feel like he’s playing Britt on purpose. If we had anything to play for he wouldn’t get a look in, but I think he’s playing him almost to ruin his prospects for next season. Britt just looks disinterested and garbage when he comes on. There’s not much chance he’s getting a similar wage to what he’s on now, and maybe not even at as good a club. It’s like he’s asking Britt to prove that he’s as good as he thinks he is, which he clearly doesn’t seem to be. I think he rates Spence but wants more from him and I think i

  48. Oh and to take a moment to be a little positive about today, we did create enough chances to win the game despite the general crap game that it was. Bolasie should score from Watmore's pull-back, Lumley made two incredible saves from Saville and what looked like a nick off Barbet and I'm not overly sure about the law but I think it's daft that Bolasie isn't given his goal from when their keeper got sent off. There's surely still an advantage whilst there's an open goal to put the ball into.

  49. A very good article on Stuart Webber. He's completely out of our league but we have desperately needed someone like him for well over a decade. Whenever Warnock leaves we need to have a complete restructure by appointing someone like Webber to transition us into an efficient, forward-thinking club: https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/stuart-webber-norwich-city-four-year-anniversary-7875060

    • I disagree that we don't have players good enough to play the ball in a more controlled and purposeful way, particularly since the January transfer window. I wouldn't say any of our defenders are particularly bad on the ball at all, and all of our forwards/wingers thrive with the ball at their feet, not in the air. Not to mention we probably have the worst keeper in the league at long balls. The way we play is completely counter to our individual players strengths and it's purely because it's the only way our manager  knows how to play.
    • we need the players to play with it on the group in tight areas to. most of our squad players dont and just lump it. because of the instructions they are given. that is probably because like we seen under woodgate, they are not good enough to play and will lose possession and cause us problems. the main thing with woodgate tactics was losing the ball and instantly putting ourselves in trouble and outnumbering with guys all over the shop. NW stopped that by making us more rigid in shape and telling them to not dally and lump it over the top. at least that's how i see it in a simplified way.
    • We need a lot of those things but the thing we need the most is a new approach and intent. We won't get promoted from this league playing percentage football, hoping that luck falls on our side every game.
    • I'm surprised to see May miss out of the squad I feel even when not on form he is still capable of producing something.  Sexton is another big omission although that one is more understandable given Russell's form right now. On that note it was refreshing to see the form player getting selected. But I did think leadership and experience might have edged Sexton in. It will be interesting to see how Simmonds does having continually being left out by Jones for England despite arguably being the best forward in the country right now.
