This right here shows the utter greed and total lack of respect and consideration for the very people who helped make their clubs what they are today. Utterly abhorrent. God this is making me so angry...4 points

Thing is, we've heard time and time again throughout his stay here how popular and important Assombalonga has been in the changing room. He's a popular figure within the squad. You also hear nothing but good reports about Fletcher... Until Warnock takes charge. I've never liked Warnock as a person. I've defended him a little on here for the work he's done - especially with players like Dijksteel and Bola. But for a considerable time now performances have been substandard, tactics and team selections have been baffling, and some of our most influential players have been hounded in public.4 points

The last thing we need is the rich clubs getting richer and a bigger gulf emerging in football. Hope it's a flop. Completely meaningless competition if no other teams can get into it either.4 points

Scene 1: Ext (Evening). [Neil Warnock, Kevin Blackwell and their wives are sitting in patio chairs under a full moon. A half-eaten sherry trifle slowly melts beside the patio heater] MRS B: And that was when the budgie fell into the mince! [Everyone laughs apart from Warnock, who is staring into space] MRS W: It’s so nice to be socialising again, even if it is outside. We had some great nights back in Rotherham, didn’t we? MRS B: Best three months of my life. I really miss catching up without watching the bushes in case the neighbours are spying on our car in the drive3 points

Great post, OP! 1. Who makes your starting XI? Brynn Fisher Hall McNair Bola Howson Saville NML Bolasie Watmore Coburn 1a. Why do some people still write 11 as XI when talking about football teams? Same reason as to why the Superbowl does, it looks cool. 2. Who was the last Boro signing (including loans and re-signings) that you were excited to see in our starting XI? Excited? Traore, without a doubt. 3. Will we get promoted next season if the European Super League mean3 points

Which is everything that's wrong with football now. Chasing the money of people with no connection to the area and club over the people who should be at the forefront of every decision. Don't want to speak too strongly in their favour as they could yet u-turn, but I'm really proud of the stance taken by the German clubs, and I expect part of that is due to 50+1.3 points

Hi Steve, it's me Changing Times, I've been chosen as the fans representative on the board. There are going to be some changes around the place, laddo!3 points

I avoided reading warnocks post match interview over the weekend as I really couldn't be bothered, but just caught up today. This quote sums the man up in its entirety - “I am sure if you spoke to two or three they will say I was the problem. Because they blame everyone else don’t they? That’s natural for footballers. I am not the problem. I have to solve the problem.” He has lost 21 league games since becoming manager 50 games ago and not once has it ever been his fault. Not once has he raised his hands up to say he made the mistakes. It's always other people's faults and he's not e3 points

Damn - thats what I call "big picture" thinking. Fancy a job on the Boro board? 😉 The scary thing is it does sound entirely plausible. A World Soccer Superleague...like the Champions League on a hefty dose of steroids, with all the glitz and glamour of the NFL or cricket T20 competitions. Possibly even half time shows by the trendiest pop acts. Makes me want to 🤮🤮🤮 Call me an old fogey but I'm in the camp that believes history is what makes sports teams. Its about the highs and lows, achievements and setbacks, the memories of fans, rivalries with other teams etc. Of3 points

The clubs in question are mostly owned by billionaires and VC firms who have seen their profits hit by the pandemic. I keep hearing Real Madrid are effectively bankrupt. To people like the Glazers, football clubs exist solely as a money-making machine, but the machine's been jammed over for a year, so it's time to invent a new machine. Fans be damned. Pundits be damned. Regulators be damned. Politicians be damned. History be damned. Competition be damned. The Premier League was never going to be enough for these scumbags. Nor was the Champions League. Even the nauseating ESL won't be enou3 points

All coming out at a time when these 'big 6' can't even concrete their position within the upper echelons of domestic competition. Spurs can't even win the title in its current format, never mind being thrown in amongst other elite sides every week. AC Milan have only just come back into the picture after the better part of a decade of being Serie A fodder, too. Barcelona are on the verge of bankruptcy so their motivations are desperate. I do think that FIFA essentially saying they won't recognise players involved, to the point they may lose their right to represent their countries, is a k3 points

MJ wrote the following lyrics in reference to how Gibson has run the Boro for the last 10 years..."I'm asking him to change his ways And no message could have been any clearer If you want to make the world a better place Take a look at yourself, and then make a change". Well ahead of his time! 😂2 points

That term is probably the worst part of this whole thing. I hope they get kicked out of the leagues and driven out of playing their games in the "legacy" cities. if they want the American model so badly, they should move to another place and become a franchise.2 points

Of all the offensive aspects of this proposal, it's the use of the phrase "legacy fans" that really makes bile creep up my throat. As if Qatari and Chinese subscribers to ESL+ TV will be more valid than people who actually support(ed) the clubs.2 points

From memory he was in favour of that because at the time the PL clubs were willing to pay lower league teams money, was it not? So he was getting something out of it hence why he was in favour of it. But yes, your point is valid!2 points

It does seem like the timing is just quite convenient to the discussion as opposed to a genuine link, yeah. The reports I'd read were them saying they're worried about losing out on the Champions League which is why they were considering getting rid. God knows why they're worried about that, they don't want to be part of the Champions League, they want to sod off anyway. Doesn't matter who's in charge if your main source of income is permanently available.2 points

This whole idea and the reaction to it is laughable. We've got fans and pundits saying the game is finished/ its all about money/ its totally unfair. When has this not been the case for the last 20 years? The game had gone well before this idea, we already had the rich clubs getting richer and teams on the fringes of the top flight having no chance of ever competing again. How can you call the Premier league a fair competition when Burnley and Fulham have to compete with the financial might of Man City? Its like having the hundred metres race in the Olympics with someone starting a2 points

It's not a point worth debating at all, it's a disgusting attempt to slander a man without any actual basis. I'm embarrassed you've even raised it.2 points

The fact is that there are direct quotes from NW that Dijksteel is one of his favourites and that he misses Tav when he's injured, compared to your quote, where he is clearly talking about the guys currently showing the right characteristics he wants in his team. It's absolutely pathetic that you think this has anything to do with race.2 points

Thats exactly the kind of thinking that gets you managers like Woodgate and co. We don't need a manager to bleed boro we need a manager with an actual plan and vision for success, its not sunday league football.2 points

I don't think it appeals to many fans domestically at all. The owners are chasing foreign money and trying to protect their own investments. The fans have never came in to the equation.2 points

Liverpool's owners are now publicly more concerned about their global 'fans of the future' than maintaining the Merseyside derby, part of the foundations that a club like Liverpool have been built upon in the 70s and the 80s. More bothered about the ESL than being part of the English pyramid. It's all horrid but I'm kind of happy in a way that it's all out in the open and they've shown their true colours quite publicly for a change.1 point

We all make mistakes so best thing to do is learn from it. However, you cant go around making baseless labels (or in your case indirectly claiming) someone might have racist tendencies when there no evidence to suggest it does not and not expect a reaction. Being wrongly labelled or it being indirectly implied you are a racist does not and should not affect just the person. It should affect any person with a conscious hence why people rightly defended Neil Warnock on that. Even those posters who are not a fan of his as a manager.1 point

I SO hope this happens. While I do realise the financial consequences of the "big 6" leaving the PL...including the reduced flow down to the lower leagues, a large part of me is actually quite excited by the prospect. I love a bit of chaos when the established order is shaken up, (or in this case Jenga'ed). I feel sorry for the fans, getting screwed over by the owners, when both the PL and supporters' trusts have made clear their objections to the Super League. I guess this is just another reason to be careful what you wish for when you lament the fact your club hasn't been boug1 point

I'm starting to wonder if this is a slyly subversive take on how easily offended some people can become at the mention of race (rather than at the mention of age, ginger hair etc). If so, point made. If not, shall we park this debate?1 point

Funny you never hear Warnock say a bad word about Bola, Dijksteel, Fisher, Tav, Bolasie, Kebano and yet he's racist af. Hoofball playing, finger pointing, angry, Gringotts goblin looking motherfucker maybe, but not racist.1 point

Maybe our players just aren’t that good? How many would get into a top 10 team?I can’t really think of any to be honest with you, let alone top 6! We are average because we have mainly average players. McNair, Fry, Morsy, and Tav are probably the only ones who I could make a case for getting into other teams. The rest? Probably not. Warnock and the club will sign more average players and then not get the best out of them. The cycle continues.1 point

Same can be said for a few players. Why would you want to play for a manager whose beliefs about how to play football are absolutely guaranteed to not get the best out of you? Who will then blame you for not being the type of player he wants, rather than adapting his own ideas to try and get more from you. "Yes boss, I'm 5'10'' not 6'3'', sorry about that but other than wearing heals I'm not sure what I can do about it." If you play every week regardless of how well you play, and you never get any stick, then I dare say you'd be delighted to play for that manager. Of course the player pla1 point

If Dijksteel does not start this, then the writing really is on the wall for him, if its jot already anyway. I actually don't think he will start. I think Paddy will come in and we will change to a wing back system with Jones and Engel - which will say a lot about what MC thinks of Dijksteel in not trusting him at RB or as a 3rd CB (he played his best football there for us) Also would not be surprised to see Hackney replace Greenwood and plsy in an advanced role but rather Silveria or Gilbert there: Dieng Paddy VDB Clarke Jones Howson O'Brien Engel Silveria LL Azaz
