Just wish the crowd had been there for him! Would have been even more special then.6 points

Just for a minute imagine being in Josh Coburn's head at the moment. You are 18 years old, your gaffer has the belief in you to put you into the first team and you score with your speciality a header, talk about walking on cloud nine. Well done son may you and Malley go on to have successful careers in this great game6 points

With these youngsters ... And if we can keep Bolasie and Kebab ... Plus add a few extra players ... I am looking forward to next season ... I know a lot of you are not, but that's not gonna spoil my optimism!5 points

Scene 1: Int (Night) [It’s 3am in a kitchen lit by the glow of the moon. Neil Warnock walks in yawning, wearing Paddington Bear pyjamas and fluffy slippers. He opens the fridge and takes out a bottle of milk. When he shuts the door, a ghostly white apparition has appeared behind it] WARNOCK [dropping the milk]: Jesus Christ! APPARITION: Not quite. [The ghostly white features move closer] No use crying over it, though, eh? WARNOCK: G…Garry? APPARITION: Yes. It is me. Garry. WARNOCK [looking around wildly]: How the hell did you get into my kitchen? MONK: I go w2 points

That’s probably the longest and most thought out post you have ever put up @p_mards 😂😂😂2 points

That just isn't true. Our expectations for youth players are often warped by the rise of the occasional teenage wunderkind. The reality is that the vast majority of players don't see proper 1st team action until their early 20s. Plenty of world class players were absolutely nowhere in their teenage years.2 points

He is definitely getting better with every game IMO2 points

Bolasies best gane for us so far? What do we reckon2 points

Turned out rather well I thought especially the second half. Bolasie is becoming a very important player to keep hold of. @RiseAgainst well done Luton away next Saturday2 points

Warnock has previously described Coburn as John Stead like and you can see why from that goal and performance. really pleased for the lad.2 points

I actually thought we could have been 4-1 down before we scored the 2nd goal. I never saw a replay of Paterson's disallowed goal but it looked like a soft foul on Archer, think he got away with one there personally. Windass scored a great penalty but missed an amazing chance soon after Paterson's disallowed goal. Then there was that ball that floated over our defence that Bola missed but Paterson misjudged it. If he reads it well, he pretty much just needs to hit the target. We weren't great. But I'm not fussed about that today as I'm just so pleased for young Josh Coburn, had a feeling w2 points

Archer's been pretty good today, actually prefer him over Bettinelli2 points

That was an excellent save from Archer but some more dogshit defending to put us in that situation lmao.2 points

Please never find a way to watch that isn't 2 minutes behind. It's such a fun feature of all match day threads I don't want it to change lol2 points

I could live with us relegating the owls today ...2 points

If we were Rotherham, Derby or Wycombe fans we would expect Boro to play our best and most experienced side today, to do otherwise would be unethical and we would be the first to scream it from the rooftops. As for Spence at RB? Been there done that and the word liability comes to mind, I doubt there is very much more to learn there unless or until the lad gets his brain in gear. I reckon Spence won't be here next season anyway either via a loan or transfer. Hall is back and fit enough to play so that pushes Malley back out again. Wednesday will be pushing for a win and a physical ba2 points

I hadn't realised before this week how much I dislike Derby. Their match has just come on Sky and part of me wants to watch it in the hope that Brum will completely humiliate them.2 points

It's also worth noting that we can't just throw the kids on in the middle of 2 incredibly crucial games in the relegation race. I dislike Warnock as much as the rest of them, but I totally agree with what he's doing here. Got to respect the competition.2 points

Get the comfortable lead then bring then on2 points

The thing with woody is that he has the players the play exactly how he envisioned us playing now. He didn't have them here, was dealing with a long term negative squad and didn't have a plan b. I do feel sorry for him for his time here, would have been tough for any manager.2 points

Perez actually hinted in his interview that the trickle down would be because the big bois could pay more for smaller teams' players. Absolute clown.2 points

This game with all that is entwined with it could fall into the catagory of a seldom used phrase of mine and one which I admit has nothing to do with Boro for the rest of the season but I wanted one last shout out. For Sheff Wed this is THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME OF THE SEASON...............so far!!! Lose it and they are screwed and relegated I believe. Going to be a real battle and hopefully NW knows that he owes the rest of the league a battling Boro team. Could be a real entertaing game and a good match to watch for neutrals2 points

Game Day. Second win in a row incoming. @RiseAgainstto break all records by taking us into next season with the match day threads. Come on BORO2 points

When is a joke not a joke? When is a glib statement not glib? When should we accept that others opinions and view points are not our own instead of arguing the case with clever word smithery and not quite crossing the line? Well we have had plenty of that of late and for the first time in a long time I have had to lock a thread and a match day one at that because the contents have turned very sour and bitter indeed because of all of the above. So enough is enough and from this point onwards anything mentioned that can be construde by others as being possibly racist in conte2 points

Don't really know why, but since the summer he was first mentioned when Woodgate was hired his name has always appealed to me.2 points

Twice now Saville has got the ball quite advanced and run back towards our own half, stop doing that!1 point

Woodgate has a cushty job now and fell on his feet with Tindall being sacked. Did he make us better when he was in control of the training plan and team sheet? No. The football was dreadful and we had no pattern of play in any sense of the word. A good coach can assess his squad and adapt to get the best out of the players at his disposal. With us he didn’t do that but a Bournemouth team littered with better players, it’s criminal if he doesn’t get them up anyway 🤷🏻♂️1 point

Shame he didn't have that philosophy when we still had a chance of making the play-offs.1 point

OK cheers guys, bit of a shame as I love watching Tav play but I guess it makes sense with this season seemingly over1 point

It looks to me like Malley stuck with his man (1st frame and last frame) and didn't leave him unmarked to fire in had the ball come across to him. Granted Saville did spot the danger and sprinted across and maybe with more games together Malley would have sprinted across knowing that Saville would then pick up his man but there is a bigger question of could Kebano (who looked to be jogging rather than sprinting) have got back quicker to cover Paddy which is his responsibility in that wide right role. An intuitive understanding between Saville (or any other Player for that matter) and Malley wi1 point

Also didn’t Gary O’ Neil say on a football show he was a pundit on that he purposely picked up a yellow card to invoke a ban so he had Christmas off 🔔🔚1 point

MMC has more hatred in his heart than I figured him for. Will you be my friend?1 point
-
I don't think I ever hated players enough to be glad to see them go. Gestede is probably the closest, but even that was mostly due to circumstances outside his control (wages, injuries, being crap). The big one for me is Definitely pulis. Never felt more relived to know someone wouldn't be gracing the Riverside again in Boro colours.1 point
-
Gestede. I know he became a lightning rod for all that ailed us at the time (and subsequently), but even prior to his arrival he'd sued a Boro fan for making a gesture subsequently proven not to be racist in intent. He arrived here during that diabolical PL January and proceeded to stink the place out for the entirety of his time here. I can only remember two good performances from memory. Plus, I still can't forgive or forget his miss against Swansea, when we still had something to fight for.1 point

Think I would rather see Finch. He may be the future, Hoppe appears not. -
You lot are determined to make this the lowest posted MDT of the season......................so far!! Anyway we owe it to the rest of the league to field our strongest possible starting 11 giving Hoppe the chance to strut his stuff😉
