  1. Seeing 70 new posts, I’m sure all of you that posted know how disappointed I was by the end

  2. I'd say we should be spending more money on creativity behind the strikers, any half decent striker can bag a hatful. We've proven time and time again that spending 15m on a striker with a good record means nothing if you can't surround him with a supply line, we've spent what 40m+ on strikers since we've come down? And we've consistently been among the lowest scorers in the division... (even when attempting "attacking football") That's why I'm not too bothered about missing out on a player like Muniz.

  3. If you think Sturridge is signing then just check the odds and betting recently. If we’re odds on he’ll definitely be coming

  4. Just me or does the home kit look so much better with the white trim on the sides missing

  5. Morsy had an 87% pass success rate, Morsy is a strange player for people to try to make into a boo boy

  6. I really hope the rumours about Sturridge are not true. He's missed 145 games with injury during last 10 years. He will no doubt be on high wages. Not for me I'm afraid.

  9. Would certainly beat the Bean Cryin' we've had recently.

  10. He also fits the description of the Gazette's 'mystery striker'. Those words "A player who has been playing in Europe" to me suggested someone who had previously played in England but had most recently been abroad. And the fact that the finances would be tricky to work out line up with a player who, presumably, we aren't wanting to pay too much to as a base wage, given his injury record. I've no idea whether there's anything in it, but it would certainly add up.

  11. I don't. I just see him as the player he is, rather than the player people thought we were signing. 5 goals and 15 assists in 4 seasons doesn't represent value for money, especially when you consider that he has probably played more minutes over that period than anyone else in a Boro shirt. You can make some allowances for him being moved around a bit, certainly in in the case of playing at the back at times. However, it's a relatively small number of games, most of his games have been in midfield, and he simply hasn't done anywhere near enough overall. Add in the fact that his passing ha

  12. No it doesn't. It might push him towards another loan, which he could use at 18 years old.

  13. Remember when we scored and the ball smashed the net and bounced back out, Hugill meant to hit it back in to celebrate but put it over 😂

  14. Once Payero comes in I would expect Morsy to take the deeper role and Howson to be less involved in starting matches. He will continue to be more than capable back up in our midfield. Pound for pound he has been a top signing for us and anyone thinking of booing him needs to give their head a shake IMO.

  15. My bad. It was a wrong statement regarding Morsy and it's not his job either to create chances. I'll happily admit I was wrong regarding him.

  16. Howson 100% plays as a CDM for us; Morsy for some reason plays as the 8 instead and it bothers me to no end.

  17. You can guess all you like but I saw nothing in Coulson to suggest that, and clearly neither did Neil. Jones did more in 20 minutes on Sunday that Coulson did in all of last season

  19. One of our worst passers actually. His passing has gotten progressively worse season by season since he signed for us. Last season he had a 66.6% accuracy, which is bad enough in general but makes him just about the least accurate passer on our books. By comparison, Spence was just over 70% last season, and of course we all know that he gives the ball away all of the time. Even Assombalonga's was higher last season, and I've had a look through most of the others and can only find Fry who was worse - a result of all of the stupid punts upfield no doubt. This weekend Howson had a passing ac

  23. Sorry to derail this thread with transfer talk but just listened to NW pre Blackpool conference on BBC Tees Confirms he did not want Coulson to go but has no choice as Coulson had made his mind up he wanted to go. Said hopefully he can have a good season at Ipswich and then come back and kick on here next season. Said he still hoping to add to squad and is happy to have Daniels in. Said him and Lumley between them got plenty of championship experience

  24. What's the verdict on Branston vs Heinz? Branston all the way for me - sauce is much thicker and more tomatoey. Heinz has got watery over the years.

  25. So is Howson officially this season’s boo-boy target? Or just an early favourite til Payero misplaces a pass? 🙄

  26. @newyddionwith all respect, I think you should consider leaving the argumentative bullshit posting to FMTTM. We already have one poster like that in @Changing Timesand frankly, one is enough. You seem like a decent enough guy but the rubbish you post on the other forum doesn't really fly here (which is why so many of us are calling you out on it!) Take the hint, pal

  28. I hope you have recovered from covid Newy , and back to being a top reporter of sightings at Rockliffe . Was it a cleaner / staff member who spotted Sturridge ? If so tell him to keep his eyes peeled for Pedro 😉

  29. I just cant see Sturridge accepting a pay as you play deal myself. We'd be daft to offer anything other than that though. I wouldn't want him here either.

  30. Well he’s hardly going to say that he is out of shape and not really motivated as he knows it’ll only be teams from poor leagues that will be interested.

  31. Bamba has taken no.22 Daniels no.28 Slightly annoyed at Daniels no.28 choice given no.13 available which was the traditional back up GK squad number when I was growing. I will get over it at some point.

  33. I'd say we need 3 more. A striker, replacement for Coulson and a winger. We could probably do with more on top of that but 11 signings is probably more than enough, as long as the striker isn't someone like Sanogo.

  34. Will remind you of that if we resign Yannick Bolasie @Robin Johnson. Haha. Only joking mate. You are right, no need to boo anyone. Even if all have players we like and those we are less fond of.

  35. I honestly don't see, based on what we've seen whilst Warnock has been in charge, how it could ever be on the other players for not displacing Howson. Howson is pretty much first name on the team-sheet for Warnock. He was out injured for 5 games and as soon as he came back, he was in and never left the starting 11 and did 90 minutes every game barring the one he got injured and the one he came back in. We definitely had times last season where it would have been reasonable to displace him from the team with options we had available and yet nobody ever did. Because Warnock won't do th

  37. I think I read PSG offered him the number 30 shirt. At least that was at the top of Reddit at the time, so it has a 50% change of being legit and 50% chance of being bullshit upvoted to the top for no reason.

  38. Don't like what I have been reading on here of late, not the content of the posts persay but mannerisms that are beginning to come to light. Reign it in a little guys with the direct arguements, other forum members begin to get bored with it. For the benefit of the many I am prepared to let others go so please stop the aggresive tones that are being repeated more and more. Thank you

  39. I don't really understand why we're debating a comparison between the two players at all at this point either but you're just as much involved in this as I am so I don't know why you think I'm the only one being arsey, if that is the case. My point all along in this conversation was to say that Coulson and Browne having substantial critics based on last season is kind of ridiculous, that's the only reason I even made the connection or even mentioned Browne's name to begin with. Your position on that statement was to suggest Browne has done more for us than Coulson, which is beyond the poi
