Eh? Hernandez is literally starting š Sporar and Siliki both on bench. If Payero wasnt injured, I doubt the club would mention why he was out. Is everyone just going to wet the bed every time Payero doesnāt start? Why does everyone think heās some sort of superstar. Expectations are way too high.6 points

The worry is the continuation of form from the end of last season especially in keeping clean sheets. I do feel that other teams are too savvy now to Warnocks methods and set up not only to negate but to exploit what they will inevitably encounter. I hope that Siliki comes good because we are crying out for a CM who is calm and composed on the ball. Once again Iām feeling that the game has moved on and we are stood still.5 points

We've hit the bar, we should have had a penalty in the first half, we had an open goal if Tav had picked the right man but we still had 3 efforts from that which could or should have went in. Winger playing wing-back, late change to the defence, etc. Right, excuses out the way... Across the 90 minutes, Coventry looked the better side. Really positive and really, individually their manager saw some good individual performances from his players and on the balance of it, I think they earned their win. Fair play to them. In contrast, some of our individual performances today were shockin4 points

Just got back to the car after the game & I have to echo all of the comments above tbh about how abject we were at times today.. but the one thing which really really annoyed me was the passing! Such basic passes going astray and giving away the ball in decent positions, it really was dross at times.4 points

Probably until we sign a left back. Absurd, laughable and extremely naive from the club/staff to think weād be ok with one senior left back. Stupidity4 points

5 games for Warnock. If it continues like this he has to go. Tactics - wrong. Positions - wrong. Our squad is pretty good. It's on the manager now.4 points

Apart from the first 15 mins I watched that with my mouth open and my head in my hands. Tactics awful did we learn nothing during pre season, Dijksteel is not a wing back and five at the back just leaves us disjointed all over the pitch. This panic tactic of lumping the ball upfield when closed down went out of schoolboy football ten years ago. All over the pitch we were inferior to Coventry, let me repeat that we were inferior to Coventry. Itās still early days but it is not working and the clock is ticking for Warnock3 points

on the bright side hernandez looks good, siliki looks like he has a cracking pass/cross and sporar showed a few glimpse's of turning defenders like i seen in his youtube clips. i reckon they will all be good. downside: playing 3 at the back with 2 defenders pulling trailers is a bad idea. playing with wingbacks when we dont have any wingbacks neil warnocks percentage long ball *** is killing us.3 points

Guaranteed. Hereās a few suggestion: Warnock and his formations and subs why did he/didnāt he play: Archer why did he/didnāt he play: Payero why did he/didnāt he play: JLS why did he/didnāt he play: Hernandez why did he/didnāt he play: Uche why did he/didnāt he play: Howson Hoof Ball Obviously not his signing should go now not going up/should be going up dies milk go in first or the tea bag3 points

Hey don't get premature on us now! Remember with Boro nothing is ever easy or straightforward. I suspect there will be some stuff to moan about come 5:00 š If not we'll have to find some stupid petty stuff to argue about, to keep Alan's post count up. š3 points

I'm sure Tav could play centrally as long as we as a team tried to use the ball in any way other than just lumping it. Warnock, in the Gazette, is on about Howson being on his own in midfield because Crooks and Tav were pushed further up. The issue is that we go direct so often that we end up with a group of players at the back, a group of players up front and no bugger in midfield. We bypass it so much that our players are wasting their time staying in midfield, it's almost like a little kids game, there's no structure to it at times.2 points

The result I do not care about. After near 2 years of going to a game I'm thoroughly disgusted with segments of our so called supporters. Verbally abusing our own players during the game with foul and abusive language. Calling Lumley a blonde c**t, team mates daft c**ts and then allegedly calling someone a black c**t. This was picked up by Uche Izpeazu's brother and family who were sat 4 rows down from me. Stewards and police were involved and I think someone was ejected. This was horrible to be sat in the middle of. Also, when Coventry scored the steward nearby to u2 points

On route home now sick as a pig! Not because we got beat, but the manner of the defeat. 1st half performance was a carbon copy of the Derby 1st half with the team being extremely unbalanced with Isaiah Jones at LWB. The guy is learning his trade and has been fantastic, but asking him to play with LWB is going to weaken his development imo. The team was so disjointed and all the 2nd balls Coventry won and recycled possession. Fair play to Coventry, at every opportunity they want to play interchanging and possession football whereas we didn't have a game plan whatsoever 1st half. A bet2 points

I agree, they definitely deserve some credit. They have a go at knocking the ball around, some decent movement off the ball, I wouldn't say it was anything flash as such, it's just decent football, and they try and keep it on the deck. I suspect they don't have the quality to finish top 6 or anything like that and will finish somewhere in midtable but they do ok with what they've got.2 points

We had a couple of good spells but our defending and passing let us down ultimately. The new lads didn't do too bad. Sporar looks like he's going to be an handful, got a bit of pace and won a few headers too. Siliki looks a bit rusty. But could become very useful.2 points

Its not just the new players gelling it's our form since that infamous Blackburn game last season, we haven't even looked like we have kicked on and progressed. We've stagnated and mangers know how easy we are to play against.2 points

It has been posted on the website, but the video doesnāt work. Much like warnockās formations2 points

They did play quite well but it was helped by our team selection and set up. We had three defenders who are basically waiting to head the ball a lot, scrap with forwards, and a less than mobile midfield, and they just played it into feet, players dropping short to pick up the ball, that kind of thing. Player for player we are miles better than them but we were outplayed and outthought today.2 points
-
I think we should give Warnock until the October International break if he hasn't picked up 9 points minimum before then, we should get rid. The stuff with Payero is patently ridiculous as well you don't get a player up to speed by never bringing him on or playing U23 football he needs to actually play with his teammates in competitive matches...2 points

What I do want to say is absolutely fair play to Coventry though, they were excellent today. They're quick, they pass with a purpose, they play some great football and they will do very well this season I think.2 points
-
Well we have a good one in Bola but he's no more a left wing back than Jones is so 5 at the back doesn't help him either Letting Coulson go out on loan was a ridiculous decision2 points
-
Our squad was good at the end of last season too, our January signings made us one of the best squads in the league and our form was closer to bottom half.2 points
-
I was genuinely excited to watch us today because of our new players, but completely forgot about the manager in the process..2 points
-
Agree to a certain extent. But you canāt legislate for how bad some individual performances have been today. Doesnāt matter who the manager would have been. You canāt teach players to make 5 yard passes or dive in recklessly when youāre last man, or somehow cock up virtually an open goal 3v1, or Hall lobbing the ball into the stands when heās 10 yards in space š2 points

How many times do we need to see 3 at the back. Dijksteel and Tav our two best players both playing out of position and having complete shockers is no surprise to me at all.2 points

Dijksteel has had a mare today, Tav has had a mare today. I was fine with Warnock ticking us over for another season at first but honestly I think I'm done, he can get gone.2 points
-
He'd be more up to the pace if we played any football at all and had some controlled possession. The ball being lobbed from end to the other is probably a little alien to him.2 points

If you're not a Warnock signing, you'll be lucky to make the bench it seems. I bet Siliki is only on the bench because Warnock has been told to put him there. Seriously the sooner this outdated *** leaves, the better for the club. I don't care how many promotions the funny, slightly racist dinosaur has.2 points

Iād be happy with that, itās hard to find a good proven and affordable cm and weāve got one on a plate with OāBrien with the added try before you buy benefit. Ayling I think is a no brainer if heās cheap enough.
-
Yeah just listened to the presser thats on website @TeaciderĀ and not sure if MC let slip but he said āthere are important players here we want to keep for the long termā. Not sure if that was a general comment or one aimed at loan players.Ā Think we will try keep Ayling and O'Brien and let go of Greenwood and Thomas.

No matchday thread so I'll shot it here. Sounds like we are interested in signing Ayling permanently. There are contract discussions underway with a number of players. McNair is back in training, apparently Lenihan isn't close. -
