  2. Can you give me a percentage of how much you trust your source to be right? I'm.about to go for a pint and need to know if it's going to turn into 10 so I can let my boss know I won't be in tomorrow

  3. I said I don't like paying the same team twice in a row, and the Hull managers comments show why. The way the team is setup to play is so predictable. It's a case of we get it right for one game, and then we try to repeat it the next game, but the next team have already made the adjustments to deal with it. We have some good players, but NW is struggling to find a way of playing that allows us to control games. I like NW, but I feel his time is over at this club, and probably management too - especially at this level. His style of play, and setting up teams is not working any

  5. I’d like lampard, I think he did well with the youth players at both derby and Chelsea. Going forward I would really like us to focus on developing our young players and bringing new ones in e.g. Payero and I think lampard would be perfect for us. I think he has some real pull power when it comes to signings too. I think young players all over the world would love to play under lampard due to how good he was as a player. I also wouldn’t mind a manager abroad which is probably the most likely option imo. Can’t say I’m knowledgeable enough to suggest any names though.

  8. Reiziger and Lampard my first two. More importantly I'd rather we didn't get someone in that instantly splits the fan base like our previous 4 appointments. I think probably 95% of the fanbase would get behind a Lampard or Reiziger. Makes it much less toxic.

  9. Somebody young with a proper background in coaching. Somebody not from Teesside. I’m not bothered about getting a big name though the door - we’ve tried that. I’m going to say somebody who has come up through the German or Dutch systems, as these seem to be the most progressive and imaginative in terms of mindset. Well organised, driven and with a clear vision. Not somebody who has had a good playing career and essentially ‘fancies a crack’ at management regardless whether they are really cut out for it. Someone who considers coaching their vocation and has a deep knowledge and passion for it,

  10. They scored from a shot off target hitting our keeper on the back of the head and going in, and had been completely dominated in the second half up to that point. We should have scored 2 or 3 by the time they fluked a goal, but for rank finishing and a great save from their keeper. That doesn't scream to me of a manager's plan working, just the other team stuttering. We were embarassing and I'd like Warnock to leave, but I don't think I'd be giving many plaudits to Grant McCann for yesterday.

  12. If true, I can't say it's a shock or unwarranted. He's probably been my favourite manager in terms of personality but you've got to match that with results and they just haven't been coming.

  14. This is nicked from Cardiffdaffs on FMTTM, it's from a Leeds fan blog about Warnock's time there: "On The Guardian’s Football Weekly podcast this week, it was stated that Neil Warnock is the kind of manager you love at your club, a fantastic Championship manager. Incredulity is the natural Leeds response to that, but broadly speaking it’s correct. Recently, at Rotherham, now Cardiff - as The Whites have first hand experience, having fallen to them in the only home defeat since November - he’s been an asset, steering the clubs in the right direction in difficult circumstances. Before that,

  15. I think I am like most fans in that I get excited for the start of every new season. Even after 56 years of Boro being my team, I am still like that. I do realise however that we can't be successful every season, but all I want is the hope of promotion to remain a bit longer than 11-12 games. We even throw every cup game now to concentrate on the league, which is farcical with our present performances. Is this really too much to ask?

  16. Well this is part of the problem SD. How is it that Middlesbrough fans end up having to pay more for tickets than QPR, Fulham, Birmingham and Millwall. This week I've gone through and tried to get sources to match up to the ticket work I've done and wrote up a little document contextualising the data a bit. I've passed this onto the rest of the MSF reps and needless to say, they're all really aghast at where we sit in these tables. Hopefully we'll get to talk about this a little at the next meeting.

  17. After saying he doesn’t know what more he can do, he could easily hold his hands up and walk. Strachan was a terrible manager for us but at least he had the decency to walk before things completely toxic.

  18. Couldn't care less about Spence, tbh, he almost never looked interested in his time here and it always felt like he thought he was better than the club. Maybe it was just Warnock but he had the same drop off under Woodgate. I'm in two minds about his Forest loan, because the better he does the more we can gain in transfer fee, but the better he does the more candles in the window there'll be on Teesside

  21. Respectfully disagree, honestly. It seemed the damage was done behind the scenes with hierarchy/players and morale was crushed. There was the obvious seething from AK over the Rhodes/Downing signings and *** knows what else behind the scenes, the dressing room was fractured. Bringing in egos such as Valdes which seemed to et everyone very excited at the time was only going to go one way. Negredo is the one forward we had that season though I thought handled himself very well. If I recall correctly, AK seemed he went out his way to behave the worst he could towards the end times or at least

  23. To be fair I doubt he means a fist fight and I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a few players who don’t like him. He’s probably called out half the squad in the media in recent weeks. Even made that comment about Mcnair and the international break

  24. Because I don't think Gibson will have sympathy for the uncomfortable position Warnock is in. I'm not even sure it is an uncomfortable position as such. He was brought out of retirement to have a crack at managing again, and I'm sure he's getting paid a decent wedge to be here. I'd be surprised if any of this has happened without Warnock being told it was happening, and he had to have known that he would be here for a limited amount of time. In fact, didn't Warnock himself say that there would be changes within the club way back last season? If he wasn't happy with the changes then he coul

  27. Gibson can't support Warnock publicly as Warnock has quite clearly had a couple of recent public digs at the club, and therefore Gibson by extension. If he supports him he would be endorsing those criticisms of himself. As soon as we had the 'Steve wants to gamble on South Americans' in the summer or whatever it was, this was all only going to go one way. Ultimately though it's all down to Gibson not Warnock.

  28. Considering the mood amongst fans I feel that Gibson needs to either support Warnock publicly or he needs to leave. Hopefully the latter. Going by Warnock's comments, he isn't happy so I don't think he'll dig his heels in if Gibson and Scott said to him that an amicable separation is probably best. I have a strong feeling that Warnock is going to leave very soon as the current situation just feels so disjointed and him staying here adds nothing to us. He just doesn't know how to coach and manage the likes of Payero, Siliki and Sporar who, in my opinion, have the ability to become key players f

  30. They wanted to bring somebody into the coaching staff in the summer, as a means of having the succession plan in place and already knowing that Warnock is leaving whatever happens. Warnock was having none of it though.

  31. I don't think (at least I hope) its not a question of Gibson making his mind up. I simply think its down to the search for his successor taking more time than anticipated. Actually, I'm pretty sure the plan was for Warnock to see out this season and if he managed to get us into the play-offs that would be a bonus. Just speculating here, of course, but I imagine the plan was to have the new guy signed up shortly before the end of the season and maybe announce it a few days after the last game, to allow Warnock to leave with some dignity. I'm pretty sure no-one expected the s

  33. I think if our manager wasn’t such a hugely respected figure in the game and wasn’t perceived to have done us a favour last season the club might be looking at things differently. Invariably Warnock has got things right in this league but it’s a while ago now and he seems to be at odds with everyone and everything at the moment. It seems he didn’t want the players we signed, he didn’t want to lose the players we loaned out, the officials are the worst in his long career, he said today he can’t go on the pitch and put the ball in the net himself. It sounds desperate and forlorn and if I’m hones

  35. Seems there is quite a bit of traction in this based on what I'm reading. I wanted it to work for Warnock and will always be grateful that he saved us from almost certainly being relegated to League One. However it's been poor since January and there are no signs that things will improve. I think a parting of the ways is necessary and a should give a fresh start for some of our new players who have been treat poorly by Warnock.

  36. Warnock's 72 years old, I can't believe a man of his age would be having a fight with a 20 odd year old professional athlete. Its would be a pretty one sided fight 😂

  37. Please God no, no more knobs at the Club. I think Wilder is just another "Brit" type Manager albeit a younger one compared to Warnock. He is undoubtedly more up to date and better but not the direction the Club is apparently now planning to head in.

  38. Dejan Stankovic! I think Shevchenko would be an interesting one, from what I remember in the euros I thought Ukraine played some pretty good stuff, definately we’re a pressing/passing team. He’s got a pretty much 50% win rate at international level. Enrico Maassen would be the most interesting option however he has not long signed a contract extension. He definately try’s to play the way we all want to see though. Out of the obvious ones I’d take Howe, lampard or Wilder quite happily Tbf, I think any of them will improve us. Only one I’d have reservations about is Wilder as

  39. Lampard, interesting. I actually thought ex player may feature in SG thoughts and in jest mentioned Rooney. Personally my preference would be someone who has an insight in to fitness, strategy, mentality, communicator and the modern game. Someone that knows how to bring individuals together to work as a unit.

  41. I'm not sure about lampard. He did ok with derby, but that was a massively over powered derby squad for this league when you look at how good his loanees actually are now. He should have gotten them promoted imo, probably automatically. His stint with chelsea was just bad. He the players good enough to win the champions league and had them languishing in mid table in the same season.

  42. Tough decisions need to be made as Warnock has to realise that he is still only an employee and throwing his toys out when he doesn't like something cant continue. Particularly when he is producing nothing and has no idea how to change that. He won't last the season, It's only when, not if!

  43. Think most of us have watched football long enough to know that something is wrong behind the scenes. I have no idea what it is but I thought the most illuminating comment made by Warnock recently was when he said words to the effect of I am going to do things my way now. The implication there being someone or possibly more than one person has been influencing his decision making. Don't believe Bausor or Gibson get that involved in team selection so has to be Scott or Short the new fitness guy. This needs sorting now. Only one person can pick the team and whatever the view on Warn

  44. I think at this point that it's time for Warnock to go. Admittedly we could easily appoint someone who does a worse job but we have been on a downward slide since January and what is currently a failing relationship could easily become a toxic one if he stays in post and results continue roughly as they are. The only reason I could see for Gibson keeping him on is to use him as a heatshield so that when a new manager comes in everyone's so relieved to see the back of Warnock that the new manager gets a much easier ride.* Fundamentally though, everyone knows that Warnock's on borrowed

  45. Me too. Might just be hope more than anything, but I don't see where we go from here otherwise. I'm especially *** off at the Payero situation. I know people have mixed feelings about him and I'm in the minority, but I honestly would be quite happy to have Karanka back, even if just to steady the ship and stop us leaking silly goals.

  46. I wonder if we can still get a pear drop for Spence's services. That was the going rate for him, right? In all seriousness, I'm glad he's doing well with Forest. I just hope it's for our benefit and this isn't just another situation where Warnock's juggernaut approach has killed off a player before they've even really started to find their feet.

  47. Reading - worst defence in the league, no clean sheets, enter Boro. Hull - longest run without a win in all four divisions, enter Boro. It just isn’t happening- Warnocks promotion teams would have won both these games, probably 1-0. He isn’t working his magic this time. Move on.

  48. I hear people saying that its a tough one today as we had lots of chances, and it is true, but thats the style of football warnock creates. Its basically rub of the green football, theres no real tactics or gameplay, its hit and hope with the notion that a couple of balls with fall nicely for us. sheffield was the perfect example, we didnt really create any chances, we scored one wonder goal and the second came with 2 deflections before the ball falls at mcnairs feet, in that game we had the rub of the green. Same against forrest, poor game all round be we got the rub of the green. we did

  49. You do realise that would never have been possible, it has to wait till the window shuts for contractual reasons. Warnock is the right man at this time. We would be a league one side but for him, lest we forget. Us Boro fans are partly responsible for the turnover since Karanka was boo’ed out. Some Boro need to show more patience, we can not keep changing managers at the rate we do. There is no guarantee the next one will be the magic messiah.
