  2. Middlesbrough vs Peterborough Saturday 16th November – 3:00 pm Riverside Stadium The current standings: Boro currently find themselves in a disappointing 15th position after 11 games. Following a decent transfer window, I think a lot of us expected more from the team with playoffs being a realistic expectation. Warnock is definitely underachieving with this squad at the moment, but there's plenty of games still to go and it looks like w

  5. There is only one other club in this country owned by the ruler/de facto ruler of a country with a bad human rights reputation. That's Manchester City and there was absolutely loads of scrutiny and condemnation over that takeover. It's not just the fact the that bin Salman is from Saudi Arabia that's causing the condemnation, it's the fact that he's in control of Saudi Arabia and responsible for many of their human rights abuses. Every other owner, whether they're from a country with questionable human rights or not, is a private citizen and not controlling the government action

  7. They're a joke. They're in the club's back pocket and will say whatever they feel is in the club's best interests, put out propeganda etc and still don't get any scoops, have no idea what's going on In transfers. Like you'd normally think by toeing the line they would get something out of but I can't see what in this situation beyond them being allowed in the stadium.

  8. Unbiased fans can spot our weaknesses, imagine what other coaches are thinking. Plus it blows my mind how the Gazette can make an article excusing Warnock when there is stuff like this out there

  9. Indeed, I don't think it particularly raises anything new to most of us? But what I like about this lad and others like him on Twitter is they're neutral, unbiased takes. I think in the aftermath of the rubbish attacks on fan 'myths' from Johns in the Gazette the other day, it's nice to feel like your thoughts are justified by an independent source.

  12. We're the worst coached team in the league, so any side has a chance against us, even those with worse players man for man in every position. We hauled a grand total of 1 goal and 1 point against the three sides with worse XGa than Peterborough: 0-0 1-2 1-0 And of course, lost to and failed to score against the last team to actually be below Peterborough: 2-0 Expect a repeat of the Hull game - a turgid slog where some of our more talented individuals will hopefully carve out goal scoring chances despite Warnock's outdated, imbecilic tactics. If Sporar and Tav

  14. Russia / Abramovich got a lot of discussion when he first took over Chelsea. The other 3 aren't countries/regimes that directly own a football club in the Premier League, so aren't really relevant. Teams like Man City & PSG do get a lot of talk about their owners. I just think this is the most flagrant one yet. As far as I know, Qatar (for example) have never hit the international news for organising the murder of a journalist (although I'm sure they have done plenty of gross *** like that in private). Saudi Arabia are just bold enough to do it all in the public eye.

  17. 1. If we lose this game, do you think Neil Warnock gets the sack? No. I think he's unsackable, though he might leave "by mutual consent" if performances and results remain similarly abysmal. 2. How many games would you personally give Warnock to sort out the current situation and get some points on board? None. 3. Name your starting 11, and the starting 11 you think Warnock will go for Ten British players plus Sporar, with an ignored subs bench full of foreign potential. 4. 21. Good effort with the OP @Weasel. Great stuff! I'm missing this one as I'm on holiday. So sods law we'll play out of our skins and win 5-0. You have to choose one current Boro player to participate in the Squid Game (sorry if you haven't seen it), you get to split the money if they survive. Who are you choosing? Spoilers ahead! Would have to be Ikpeazu. Reckon he'd be good at tug of war. And I reckon I could beat him at marbles... Or maybe I'd pick Howson. As number 16, he'd be last across the glass bridge.

  22. Maybe it's just me who struggles with the hypocrisy of protests from various FA's and Footballers about human rights and slavery yet are very clearly happy to play in a Tournament literally steeped in blood and in a Country openly practicing the Kafala system here and now and yet it's all supposed to be conveniently ignored or at least not talked about. https://travellingjezebel.com/qatar-world-cup-deaths-slave-labour-in-the-fifa-world-cup-2022/#:~:text= Exposing Slavery in Qatar – Qatar World,earlier%2C said that what is even... 25. Actually FIFA copped a lot of flak for choosing Qatar to host the next World Cup, due to their poor human rights record. It was reported in the national news how badly they treated the (mostly) migrant workforce and the numbers that died during construction of the stadiums and infrastructure. Think I'm also right in recalling there were some dodgy elements to their bid which got conveniently overlooked. Hilariously, Qatar is also currently being sanctioned by a number of Gulf states for allegedly hosting known terrorists. They're also getting grief for breaching broadcast laws, regar

  27. I don't really disagree with too much of it, but I'd question how much of a detailed opinion a neutral can actually have after spending a day watching Middlesbrough clips and stats (going through his twitter feed, he loves a stat dump) on his computer/phone. The fact that he's done it in a day at the request of that Boro Breakdown podcast would also imply to me that he'll have went in with preconceived notions gained from them. The comments about Payero and Tavernier in particular stand out to me as something he'll have been told/heard on that podcast and will be why so much of it se

  31. 1. If we lose this game, do you think Neil Warnock gets the sack? Nope. He should but then he should already be gone by now too. 2. How many games would you personally give Warnock to sort out the current situation and get some points on board? Zero. But being 'constructive' by Johns' words (in other words, ignoring the fact he should be gone already and giving him a significantly greater benefit of the doubt than any manager should get), he might as well get the full month before the next international break. But no messing around any more. The fact he's still in charge is

  32. Totally agree. Howson is the weak link and we need players playing in the correct positions and we need to be able to control possession in midfield more effectively. Things that have been said quite often especially recently. It's quite clear we are poorly coached just from the fact we don't create alot and concede poor goals and the fact the players look baffled and frustrated on the pitch the majority of the time as there's no clear strategy. One thing he mentioned that I've not seen mentioned but that is a very valid point is that man marking system that doesn't work and its dinosaur

  34. I think it was desperation on our part that we fell in to believing the hype. Looking back it makes little sense to hold off bringing a manager next season because no one can really plan that far ahead. Who would or could commit to terms a year in advance. Then the question why bring in and let players go to prolong the change. The more I think about it the more far fetched it seems and it’s more likely just a cost cutting exercise and NW is simply the red herring. I don’t think there was a deliberate intent to deceive and more likely a delay tactic and had we been up near the play offs who re

Where the term epidemic, or pandemic, has been used, that will clearly cover Covid-19. An act of government will have occurred where a government body has imposed travel restrictions, quarantines, or trade embargoes, or has closed buildings or borders,
