  1. I can’t blame Spence for wanting to stay at Forest. For whatever reasons, it wasn’t working at Boro under Warnock and he got a chance to get regular football at Forest. He has made the position his own there and is getting plenty of praise, so to swap that for coming back and having to fight for a place against Jones, under a manager he doesn’t know and he, for all he knows might no5 play him much doesn’t sound very appealing. he has 18 months left on contract, so even if Forest aren’t willing to pay out for him, it isn’t the end of the world. A good second half of the season at Forest an

  2. OC if big word if it is less serious then that is relatively good news. 80% is a good percentage but it still means 20% will still get it, hopefully mildly. No Vax at all means that you are very open to infection and potential intensive care. It probably means that you don't care about yourself nor do you care about your fellow men Finally if it is less serious then the next wave is likly to be even less serious and eventually it lowers naturally to normal Flu levels or below

  3. I suppose the only solution is to cancel the Qatar World Cup. Then all problems are solved.

  4. I don't want to open a bag of maggots here, but given the almost unique status granted to footballers in 2020 while the rest of us were locked in our homes, I'm surprised to discover almost a third of PL footballers still aren't vaccinated. I generally support the principle of being free to decide what is (or isn't) put into your body, but these people are (a) role models and (b) obscenely well-paid by their clubs. If the PL season ends up being curtailed due to repeated COVID outbreaks, I will find it hard to be sympathetic. And I know people who've been double jabbed can still catch it

  5. You shouldn’t believe everything you read but IF it’s true that Spence is already saying he essentially doesn’t want to come back then get him sold whilst his stock is quite high. He was lazy and disinterested when he was here and that’s the first sign that his attitude, especially with us hasn’t really changed. There are far better players than Djed Spence in this world, possibly including the RWB we already have..

  6. If the answer to our virus outbreak was play the old men and juniors, it should apply to them as well, so they don't win the game.. big deal .. it is done with and out of way... clubs like that have enough people in the system to handle it.. no sympathy for those who had no sympathy for us

  7. I've been thinking the same thing 😞 Only going to take a couple of suspended games per week for this to start snowballing and make rescheduling impossible.

  8. I hate to say this after the last two years, but we might be looking at another suspension of football - in the top flight, at least. It's starting to seem increasingly implausible that we'll get through the season without significant amounts of matches postponed, and with the WC already compressing the 2022-23 season, I'm not sure there's scope to let this season overrun into the summer if a lot of postponed games need to be played. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59643714

  9. I’m no spring chicken and I value my grandchildren, family and friends health, so I appreciate should a vaccination be able to teach my immune system to identify and resist an infection I support it.

  11. The ideal situation for me would be a Prem club signs him in January and loans him back to us. Then we'd get decent money for him while his stock is high, we get cover for Jones at RWB, we weaken a play-off rival, and if Djed does start to sulk and cause problems then we can terminate his loan and he can go sit in the stands of his new club for a few months.

  12. Don't mean to nit pick, but should this nout be double vaxxed *at least* 14 days ago?

  13. Will try to remember to put this up in the Bournemouth thread too so everyone sees it. The short version is: a) Double-vaxxed (at least 14 days ago), get proof and you're good (no need for booster yet) or; b) Negative LFT (within 48 hours, preferably within 12 hours), submitted to NHS and response received, you're good or; c) Medically exempt from vaccine and you can get a COVID pass too, so you're good. Anything but this and you will be turned away. Also... masks will be mandatory for supporters over the age of 11. Needless to say, try to get there earlier if you'

  14. Looking at the utd game Vs young boys, they made 11 changes from their premier league team the previous weekend and had 7 more on the bench that hadn't featured in the premier league. That's 18 on top of the 11 the previous weekend. So approximately 30 players. And they can't get 13? Must be some outbreak.

  15. I wonder how many of the Construction workers in Qatar are isolating at home on full pay or even half pay? I'm sure FIFA and their conscious efforts to kick things out, giving things the boot and even lacing them with rainbows are all over this at the minute!

  18. If teams are forced to complete fixtures then it may affect the thinking of Clubs in terms of who they allow into their training grounds and who actually plays. Covid passports should apply equally to all walks of life, even the NHS staff are being threatened with dismissal! Premiership clubs especially have a plethora of young players who they could dip into. let's face it they seem to be able to find them in the early stages of domestic cup games. By forcing the playing of games then it may focus both Clubs and Players minds on whether they need to be vacced or not. The only differ

  19. As far as I am aware he is not part of the "gibson" family. For as long as I can remember he has played on the right and started as an attack minder right back who has moved up and down the right side of the team. Wing back is probably the best description of his talents being used to the best advantage. He has recently captained the u 23s and there is a fantastic goal he scored in a recent match which might be worht having a look for keep an eye on Joe and as I said he may be the ideal Djed replacement if Djed does not want to return and he's one of our own

  22. Don't underestimate the position of our government in all this, though. It could be taken entirely out of football's hands based on the rest of the country and cases are on the rise. There's ~4,700 confirmed Omicron cases in the country but the UKHSA is estimating that total infections is more like 200,000, which has absolutely staggered some journalists. There's also the fact our government is currently in a state of desperately trying to take attention away from their own misdeeds. The day Allegra Stratton was pushed to resign is the same day we talked about Plan B coming into effect. T

  23. I thought it very significant that Joe Gibson went with the first team on Saturday. If, as some seem to think, Djed does not want to return then "bingo" the competition for Isiah jones could be Joe Gibson. He's been very highly thought of for a while now and if Forest have any money we get a financial gain too. J Gibson right wing back for the cup tie ?

  29. Real Madrid angry that they've been redrawn against PSG rather than the original draw against Benfica. Didn't Perez want to play the biggest teams every week in the Super League? UEFA are just giving him what he wanted 🙂 🙂 🙂

  30. I've not really seen any evidence of Sporar being a great finisher in a Boro shirt yet. He scored one good goal against Forest 15 games ago, then managed a free header against Barnsley and a penalty. He's snatched at plenty of chances since then, including against Stoke.

  31. You're the one saying Sporar will score 80% of his chances if given the ball 😉 I'm not expecting that, because if either Sporar or Watmore did that they wouldn't be playing in the Championship.

  32. i think there's a good player there, but for whatever reason, I don't think it's worked for him here yet. Could be the tactics not playing to his strengths, could be him struggling in a new country, or that we're still not a side that creates an abundance of chances for our strikers. But from what iv seen, he has good movement, seems intelligent on the ball, and could be a good asset in the squad. hopefully, wilder can get the best out of him.

🤣🤣 Simon Clarke would certainly get my vote, Boro fan too as would Matt Clarke, shame he couldnt have got the goal against Ipswich, denied by a brilliant reaction save from their keeper. It was a cracking header, not as good as ELL header, but a goal reward for the excellent performances he's put in since he returned from injury

I can’t see us buying another left back this summer we have two solid options, right back maybe Drameh for a pacey option on the right. Alan Browne is also available for free from Preston good ball winner. Dominik Marczuk promising young polish winger with quality end product exactly what we need.

I retire from work in July this year & with having spare time one thing I'm thinking of doing is all next seasons PO finals x 3 Long way off I know, hopefully, fingers crossed Boro aren't involved & go up automatically, but attending all 3 is something I've often thought of doing Lets see 👀🤔💭🍺👍

Hopefully Man City win the PL & the treble if im honest, with Arsenal then Liverpool Bottom, Sheff Utd, Burnley & sorry but Luton, even though Everton got battered last night I think Luton will just fall away, they've done remarkably well & probably everyones favourites to be relegated by xmas Leicester & Leeds top 2, with Southampton in the PO's, sorry Ipswich, you've had a great season & deserve to go up Relegated - Rotherham, Sheff Weds & Birmingham 1st division promotion - Portsmouth, I would like to see Bolton with them but think Derby will pip Bolton, who will have to settle with going up via the PO's

16th April 1921 Our first league win on this day came away at Man Utd when a George Elliott goal was enough to bring both points back to the Boro This was George Elliotts 26th & final goal of the season & revenge after losing our previous game (9th) 4-2 at home to Man Utd Boro won only one of their remaining 4 games, drawing the other 3 as we finished in our 4th highest top flight finish of 8th. 5 places higher & 6 points better than the previous season  Although we finished higher than the previous season, other than George Elliott Boro goalscorers were thin on the ground, with the rest of our league goals spread out between the following Alonzo 'Jerry' Poulton 2nd best goalscorer with 5 goals. John 'Jack' Carr with 4. Rob Pender & Tommy Urwin with 3 a piece A number of other players on 2's  & 1's Jimmy Howie, our 6th different manager, had done a cracking in his 12 months as manager
