The result tonight feels massive. If we didn't win then I simply couldn't see how we could finish in the play offs as our away form has been that consistently poor previously. A win away to Peterborough in the league is the next big step; if we can do that then I'll be getting carried away with our chances of settling in the play off positions. Birmingham's pitch was awful to play football on so we did well to cope with it, especially considering our poor form away from home and packed fixture list. After McNair's missed penalty I was starting to fear the worst but we did well to keep our8 points

And in late news the linesman's flag has just gone up a minute ago and our second has been chalked off6 points

Can't wait to beat Chelsea, then have a break, then play 8 (EIGHT) games in April (plus the FA cup semi final) 5 home games in April, 3 away - one of which is Peterborough We'll go unbeaten in April, and go up automatically. I'm leaving this here for you to print out and frame5 points

gonna have the same issues when ever we next go up, step up from championship to prem often means most of the starting 11 isnt upto the level needed. we gonna have that problem and probably face relegation fight this year or next year or when ever. not getting promotion this year also puts you at risk of retaining our best players who are under contract to the club, not going up could mean people like tav, fry and others etc may not be here, although they could well be convinced to stay as they have been convinced under previous management, but could be facing rebuild next season no4 points

Connolly is 22, he's the same age as Tav basically. If you can get him in for less than Ā£2m, it feels like there's something to be made of him. But you have to view him as a potential talent. I think the fact he came onto the scene so early in his career is leading some to believe he has to be more of a finished article but he clearly isn't that right now. He's got a lot of work to do to make the most of his natural assets. It's harder to accept that when you bring a player in on loan, of course. You need that player to improve you during that spell otherwise you're just building up4 points

What a big win. The table is so tight, and with us not playing at the weekend the three points was a must. Inside the playoffs now, but I doubt we will be after the weekend. Apart from a shaky opening before we scored we were very comfprtable and didn't really need to break out of third gear. Good thing that we didn't need to battle hard and avoid yellow cards to key players on the verge of a two game suspension. Two very good goals. When you are so close under goal and under pressure like Connolly was you can only divert the ball on target and hope it's not blocked. There is no way you c4 points

Think if you take out who the teams were playing, if you were told coventry, sheff utd, QPR and Huddersfield would all drop points while we gain 3, we'd have been very happy with that.3 points

But at the same time those fans have celebrated Chelseaās succes over the past 20 years that has been build on riches gained through corruption and exploiting the people of Russia. Their owner bought a state owned company for 250 million dollars and sold it back for 13 billion. Money taken from the public. What goes around comes around. It wasnāt even a secret that Abramovic was flawed. Just like I wonāt shed a tear for Newcastle fans if their horrific ownership goes belly up and they fold because the despot loses interest.3 points

Mixing home and away fans would totally kill the atmosphere of a football game for me. I love the adversarial nature of it and each set of fans reacting to the other's songs, and the ebb and flow of the game. I've been to many rugby games with mixed crowds and thought the atmosphere is terrible. Imagine sitting between celebrating Sheffield United fans while we were getting thumped... That would suck! Or cheering the last minute winner at Blackpool without another Boro fan around you. There's nothing better in football than celebrating a big goal in a packed away end.3 points

A chance in League 1 maybe Compared to the others he might be our natural goal scorer.3 points

It was a solid, workmanlike performance with no weak links and the occasional moment of real quality from us in the second half. Make no bones about, Brum were poor. Even their good spell in the first half was more down to our failings than anything special from them. On the glass half-full front, Connolly and Balogun both had their best game for us and proved a real handful for Brum. Balogun in particular looked to be getting the measure of the Championship. On the glass half-empty front, Brum played like a disinterested league 1 team and I worry that means C&B have shown only that t3 points

Really good round for us. Gaining or increasing points on 5 teams in one round is more than we can hope for.2 points

Points gained on Bournemouth, Huddersfield, QPR and Sheffield United. The gap increased on Coventry. Not a perfect set of results, but it could be far worse.2 points

Better for us than Forest winning, though obviously a draw is better. Forest have a game in hand, QPR don't. It's still in our hands if QPR win, it's not if Forest do.2 points

There's something amusing about looking to sign a fourth option who is a goal scorer to go with the three other strikers that aren't.2 points

Connolly, given a Wilder preseason with half a season behind him and feeling loved could be a better player than he looks now. I'll trust Scott to get it right either way.2 points

Balogun has got something about him. I think if he gets a few more goals in this run-in and we keep him over the Summer, then he could have a Bamford-like season next year. Sporar and Connoly can both go with no hard feelings, neither are good enough for me. Connolly's size is a huge disadvantage in the Championship where jail-time assault is often waved forward as 'play on.' He gets pushed off the ball far too easily by centre halves. Some of those challenges might win fouls in the Premier League with VAR and stricter refs, but I'm sick of the sight of him flat on his *** holding his arm2 points

I think it would depend on transfer fee and wages for me tbh, I've seen 20k a week for Connolly banded about which I'd be staying well clear of.2 points

Mentioned this before but have you noticed we have picked up away points by not wearing our green away kit? Red shirts from now on!2 points

https://www.skysports.com/football/birmingham-city-vs-middlesbrough/report/447783 Clears up a few things penalty should not have been awarded and clearly off the defender for the first goal. But who cares, not I! Wakawakawoo our good away win was long overdueš2 points

connolly looks okay but then in the vital moments still messing up to much. like the goal he should be tapping that in missed it then we got a lucky rebound off the defender and we score. the stats say he has 2 goals but hes doesnt lol. i thought he looks better each game. his touch is better and hes looking at full pace now. frustrating thing though, he we try and put through balls into him he seemed to me to run at an angle what made the pass harder for him to get. few times he made the runs and with a slight tweak in his run angle might have give us a better chance at putting him in.2 points

Get promoted this season and accept we'll probably get relegated the year after. Build a championship busting team while were in the prem and win the championship the year after!2 points

Haha I dont mean on here but at the matches itself. If we went of the views of fan forums then no player is really showed any love. I mean we were selling Tav for Ā£3m a few weeks ago on here and last season we would have been lucky to get Ā£7m for Fry according to the positive loving folks on this forum. Crooks was seen as a big lump who we would be lumbered with once Warnock left and have no use for. And I could also discuss the āloveā this forum has shown the likes of Howson, Dijksteel and Bola..1 point

Don't think its a bad set of results, fairly decent aside from Forest QPR not drawing Really is just all to play for, need to get a run going after the international break and stop the inconsistency1 point

It wasn't hard to see there was a player in there if you she'd your prejudices, I for one am delighted that he's becoming the player his potential always showed he could be.1 point

That's a horrendous run-in, but there are teams better placed than us to catch Bournemouth. We'd not only have to make up seven points on them, but also outperform the three other teams above us, plus the three teams immediately below us (who will all overtake us if they won their games in hand). If we win every remaining game, we go up automatically. But when we've lost two of the last five league games, it's hard to make a case for that being a realistic possibility.1 point

Iām not interested in keeping Connolly notwithstanding his form Iām starting to get a little sick of his body language when he doesnāt get what he wants. Itās a bit rich demanding high standards off others when youāre not maintaining those high standards yourself. Balogun is starting to come on a bit now. Iād love him here next season if we donāt go up. He just needs to learn when to play and when not to play. Few times last night a 5 yard pass wouldve been far more beneficial for the team than him trying a trick. That decision making will come though.1 point

Ha their column is too narrow I think so they are only showing the first digit. Quite important that!1 point

In fairness, whilst Connolly is garbage at least he doesn't hide. Impressive for someone who could probably hide quite easily.1 point

Promotion asap. There are no guarantees about next season and even if theres was I'd still take promotion this year. No promoted team is ever just ready for the Championship but we have an experienced manager who knows what it takes so I'd actually put our chances of surviving on par with Fulham and Bournemouth. Just look at Fulham. Mitrovic can score when he wants in this league but he'd struggel to get more than 8 in the Prem. Plus the added bonus that promotion this season would probably save us from worrying about losing Tav, Fry and Jones this summer. And just imagine the kind of mo1 point

Because next season our injury record is going to exemplary so they a need key player to be missing for a long stretch of the season to make it feel normal. Or it could be we are trying to replace Marlon King at last.Ā -

Genuinely injured along with a personal issue. Not heard anything about Forss but I have been told that Gibson is giving Carrick a very competitive budget in the summer
