First time posting, to be honest I'm interested to see how well Riley McGree does at your club. Having watched him closely in the Aussie league and at Birmingham I really rate him, think that he will end up playing Premier League at some point. On the recruiting side I must admit I wish that Boro played 4, 3 ,3 or some other variation, I personally don't like teams playing with wing backs. I was going to suggest an Aussie player Marco Tilio who plays mostly as a wide attacker, although can play as a 10 as well, really exciting and intelligent player, recently been capped for6 points

Never let it be said that there is no response to popular demand. January long gone and time to start a new source of scurrilous rumours, blatant lies and chances for Denzil to talk about crisps whilst stopping CT from trying to sidetrack things Have fun 🙂3 points

The thing is Wilder has come in and impressed his way of playing on the players. They have been given instructions on where to play the ball and where to move to. In the short term this has worked and to be fair to CW, it’s probably the best way to do things when you come in half way through a season and are expected to stamp your mark on a team that have been coached to play a very different way by the previous manager. The downside is that the players are turned into automatons to a certain extent and you very often see them playing the same balls over and over again, often giving3 points

I think as fans we are still pinning a lot of hope on Payero, from what little we have seen of him so far I must say im not convinced. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt due to language/communication barriers, and whilst I dont expect to be able to speak fluent english just yet, I do think that he has had enough time to start to understand the basics. The reason im saying this is when Ive seen him he has looked a bit lost on the pitch, almost as though hes not entirely certain of his role and what he should be doing........it'll be interesting to see what he brings to the ta3 points

If you watched the game on Saturday, you’d have seen so many times Connolly was pointing into the space behind their defence, but instead we passed it slowly about and always went out wide and thus the space had gone. Connolly and Balogun didn’t have any good balls played through for them to run on. That is surely a tactical choice, but we are choosing to go out wide instead. As I said earlier, I don’t think thats the forwards problem. More of a tactical choice.3 points

We are. I also think teams have us a bit sussed and we don’t really have a plan b.2 points

I don't see Bamba being moved on, surely he should be offered a player coach role? He's done more than a job at CB this season and his influence in the dressing room is obviously important.2 points

Callum O Hare at Coventry, Very impressive every time i've seen him this season. Attacking creative midfielder with plenty assists in his locker,2 points

The thing was that Connolly was only pointing for the run, he didn't actually make the run. He only starts to run once the ball is played so he is reacting at the same time as the defender and not making the move first. Even if he doesn't get the ball from his run it makes the defenders need to think more and drop deeper, creating space in front of them for our midfield.2 points

Huge blow, no doubt about it. I think many fans gave Fulham too much respect and fell into the trap of thinking 'Oh well, we'll win against Hull at the weekend anyway' - when we probably should have won looking back, especially given the Coventry result. What is particularly frustrating to me is that even two draws would not have been a disaster. Two points would have us right in the thick of it still, with play offs still in our own hands. Except thanks to two shocking pieces of defending and some rank finishing we've come away with nothing, and are now a clear victory behind every key r2 points

I have been saying it for several seasons now that its the players we have, they are incapable of independent speed of thought. Whilst they may be professional and attempting to do exactly what the manager asks them to do, occasionally it requires a moment of brilliance where they think outside the box. All to often we attack and then stop just outside the oppositions box, play it to one side, then to the other and back again, apparently stretching the the opposing team and looking for an opening that never comes. Why, because that' exactly what they have been told to do! When we get in2 points

I though Daniels seemed decent in the warmup shooting practice on Saturday seemed to save almost every shot. I know it was all our rubbish strikers shooting at him but still.2 points

He said he was expected to take part in training on the Friday before the match, though I'm guessing he didn't pass fitness checks after his illness, so I assume he'll be fine for Bournemouth.1 point

4 points if other results go against us just to keep us in touching distance. We could probably get away with 3 if results go our way elsewhere. But anything less and I'd say it's over, barring an implosion from multiple teams above us.1 point

Daniels was clueless when it came to wilder ball when he played in the early part of his regime. Lumley knows what he's doing, he's just bad at executing it. I'd rather we have someone in who understands how wilder wants us to play but isn't great than someone who has no idea. Brynn is a total unknown quantity so I won't be calling for him unless wilder, knill and Leo want him in. Those men know how to judge a keeper together, I'm sure of it.1 point

It's a possibility that has been commented on but not much. Now we have a preferred bidder, Rooney thinks he now knows what he has to work with, financially, gets on with Kirchner and is now making plans for recruitment and offering current players he wants to keep extensions. He's intimated many times over the past few weeks that if his preparations for next season are hampered through not knowing what room he has, he would no longer do the job. Looks like he's staying although nothing is certain in football. We're all putting our hopes on Frank keeping Everton up and getting the summer to bu1 point

You make a good point any opposition manager who has watched us player know that we try to get the ball to Jones at every given opportunity. I'm surprised when Jones has the ball that they don't put 2 men on him to try and stifle him and hold up the play. Our danger comes from the wings because we're not that good in the centre of midfield.1 point

I'm afraid I don't share the devil-you-know ideology. Lumley has cost us so many unnecessary goals and points this season that my trust in him has expired. Critically, I think Wilder is of a similar mindset, hence his very unusual criticism at the weekend. Brynn is young, which often contributes towards a sense of fearlessness. His introduction might reinstate some confidence into defenders who are probably bricking it about missing a tackle, in case the keeper behind them decides to go out and inspect the corner flags or gaze wistfully into the middle distance as the ball scoots past him1 point

You really think so? I remember being surprised we didn't concede any goals. Even against Posh we looked vulnerable and we were just lucky they are even worse than us at scoring.1 point

Maybe Payero when he is fit along with McGree can add that visionary spark and movement. Tav should benefit from it too. Add Jones and Bola down the flanks and the ingredients are all there. Thinking back didn't Payero and Coburn link up cleverly for a goal some months back with quick feet and passing on the edge of a box? We need to stop passing to statues and start passing into areas where a Red shirt should be in two second time to anticipate receiving and/or running onto the ball. I remember watching Wenger's Arsenal years ago and being amazed how teammates always provided at least th1 point

I'm leaning that way too. Luton play Forest after today, and with a perfect storm of results we could overtake both of them by Monday.1 point

If the season was over I would definitely consider Brynn however due to the situation he would be walking into that is huge pressure and to expect him to handle it is a huge ask. Unfortunately I don't think we have a choice but to stick with Lumley until the summer or if the play offs is out of the question. That said the rest of the squad need to pull their finger out despite Lumleys error we should really be scoring several against the likes of Hull if we are serious about the playoffs.1 point

What a sad inditement it is that as we approach the crunch part of the season we are still having this type of discussion. So many for and against certain patnerships but at the true core of the problem is that Boro have failed to produce and deploy strikers of real quality and a system that often bypasses strikers. We need to start scoring first get the opposition on the back foot but how?1 point

Connolly is shocking. He offers nothing. Doesn't hold the ball up. Can't beat a man. Can't win anything in the air. Can't shoot. If this is the benchmark we are looking for then we will be in for a painful few years. He is quite honestly the worst forward I've seen in quite some time.1 point

I guess there’s two questions if we aren’t playing to his strengths then why did we sign him? And what are his strengths other than falling over and throwing his arms. He’s a *** Scott McDonald without the goal threat.1 point

Definitely looks the most likely! Plays Rb, RW, RWB and has now started operating out of RCM. An excellent dribbler with great close-control.1 point
