Great result today folks, and good luck for the last game of the season. I really thought Stoke would prove more difficult for you today, their recent form putting them in the top six, so totally wrong on that. HTFC move on, and I seriously haven't a clue how we've become so good since that day last November when we lost to yourselves, and have suffered only two league defeats since. Team spirit as under Wagner seems to be worth a hell of a lot of points. Believe it or not, I don't really care what happens now. I'm 70, went to the last play off final etc, as I did in 1970 at your place w9 points

Not sure if Boro can handle the pressure of todays game as it is without question an absolute must win. But if we can pull it off what a massive last game of the season it will be. A rollercoaster ride to the last day and for sure a huge following to Preston. Anyway. Win or lose. I would still say a big thank you to CW and the team as a whole for what has been quite a thriller of a season. I had no expectations at the start of the campaign so to see us up there scrapping for as long as we have been. That, plus the bonus of an exceptional cup run took away the meh feeling that I ha7 points

He may be a kid, but he still needs to learn the difference between right and wrong, and that includes not running onto the pitch in the middle of football matches he is watching. We can't be certain either way, but it is possible that the kid's 'intervention' contributed to the loss of concentration immediately afterwards - which is when we conceded. Children need to be taught to be responsible for their actions; otherwise they will struggle to be responsible adults when they are older.5 points

To be fair, in your initial post said you not seen togetherness and spirit for a long time from Boro. You are now saying you have seen togetherness and spirit it but its the least you expected from us. Which one is it? You not seen it or you have seen it? Your initial post has an element of entitlement to it as if we should be winning every game. Well done to Forest. They had a great season but you seem to be saying because they had a better season to us, that means our season has been sh*t.5 points

0-3 Stoke, Wilder to quit at full time for Burnley, the stadium to fall down and my wife to leave me for Tony Pulis.4 points

To be honest not that many expected us to be in this situation anyway but our well known frailties have come back to haunt us and ultimately could prove costly. I think as we got so near the disappointment on various results has enhanced this to a extent. We have suffered this on a continual basis season after season meaning we have to do something different next time round and this will be in recruitment. It has been a decent season overall but the well know phrase of "if only" has taken on a more significant status Also we have to learn to win those games when it really matt4 points

Some right fannies about because Sheffield United won 😂 If we don't win today, it's factually over, if we do, it goes to a last day shootout. It's the same situation as before. I'd have more faith in a Fulham with little to play for beating them than a QPR with little to play for.4 points

Whistle might have gone for full time before they scored without that delay and additional added on time. If it comes down to goal difference that's going to look pretty stupid.3 points

I'm trying to make sense of the permutations needed for us to get into the top 6... We either need Luton to lose both games, which are away to Fulham and at home to Reading, and us win both our games. Or Luton to lose to Fulham and draw at home to Reading (or vice versa) on the final day of the season, with us making a 5 goal swing on them - so if we beat Stoke 2-0 today and they lose 2-0 away to Fulham on Monday night then any Boro win over Preston on the final day of the season will mean Luton need to beat Reading on the final day of the season. It removes Luton's safety net of a draw o3 points

I think that first one is what troubles me most. There does need to be a drastic attitude change throughout the squad. Somehow Wilder needs to create something resembling team spirit and get the players communicating on the same wavelength, so we actually play as a team, rather than a collection of individuals. We also need to start games (especially at home) like we actually want to go out and win. Round pegs in square holes (or vice versa) has been a problem under the last few managers. Much of that will depend on recruitment, but I do hate to see managers using players out of position3 points

I still can’t really believe we aren’t in a position where play offs are already delivered and signed for, only got ourselves to blame for some ridiculous results3 points

Dropped 6pts to Bristol Dropped 3pts to Reading (when they had no defenders) Dropped 6pts to Hull Dropped 3pts to Barnsley We don't deserve to be in the playoffs. We're lucky as hell if we get there and I think it'll be a demoralising trouncing if we do get there. I'm not expecting us to win today anyway, to be honest.3 points

Probably a question for the more analytical posters like CT, but what was everyone's opinion about Sporar today? I genuinely thought he'd played quite poorly and had very little influence on the match, but Wilder was almost glowing about his performance in his press conference. Did I miss something or is Wilder being daft there?2 points

Well his dad and son won’t be the most popular people should BORO fail the play offs on a one goal difference2 points

Now that our final home game is out of the way, it's good looking at the home form. Doesn't account for everybody else who has changed manager (would be interested in Cooper for example) and of course less of a sample but Wilder's home form is 31 points from 15, I think. Which is just over 2 points a game and would sit us top of the pile for home PPG compared to everyone else's 23 games.2 points

Well that's number two on the checklist 💪 Weird game, we didn't get started and then we were two goals up 🤷♂️ Moment of the season for me is Crooks goal in the second half - we actually scored from that corner routine we've been trying for ages 🙌 I think we tricked Stoke by trying a couple of completely different things earlier in the game, and then we pounced with the old favourite and kerpow it's 3-0 👊 I suppose there is a little disappointment from Luke Lumley there at the end but we just needed to make sure we won again to keep things going, and we did just that. I wouldn't wo2 points

I'd expect them to be VERY bothered. They want to go up as champions, but Bournemouth are only 5 points behind and could mathematically catch them.2 points

Tell you what, Daniels has been spot on again. He's barely put a foot wrong since coming back in.2 points

What a strange half, we couldn’t get close to the ball for 20 minutes and then Crooks scores and we wake up. The second gave us real confidence and we dominated them after that. A mention for Daniels who has brought so much more confidence into our defence, Mcgree also looks a very good signing2 points

It's also nice to see us play well without having to go through Jones. Lad is struggling a bit with his back apparently? So we're not seeing him race the length of the pitch as much today.2 points

Best we've played in ages. Threat from the left, good deliveries from set pieces, and the fast passing around their channels is back. I do wonder if we have a ready-made solution to our LWB problem in Tav? Sometimes its about getting your best players onto the pitch - and this achieved that. Seems insane to bench McGree or Crooks.2 points

Interesting first half. Very scrappy opening 20 minutes. Neither side really looked like getting a grip on the game. Still haven't seen a replay of Crooks' goal, but after Howson's free kick went in off Baker, we finally seemed to get a confidence boost and mostly looked pretty comfortable. Still lacking the intelligence / quality to make the most of our dominance. Frustrating that we still get caught offside as often as we do and regularly fail to pick passes, but overall more than happy with how things have gone so far.2 points

It's not the best situation it could be, though. Those 3 more points take it out of our hands. Them losing last night would have put the rest of the season, incredibly, entirely back in our hands. That's not something to write off even if it does lead to a similar end day scenario. I've felt a few times that it's over for us and I think a dip in form for others have somehow kept us in it. Last night was an indication, not just in terms of the result but the performance, of who will finish in the playoffs. Bear in mind that despite our midweek result, our performance was not exactly much i2 points

I would change it slightly. Tav to LWB, Payero on right mid and Coburn up top. Watmore to come on and get the 4th.2 points

We're not going to win today. Penguin me all you like, this team doesn't have it in them. Clear out in the summer and give Wilder the resources to build a squad that can go up automatically to (and be ready for) the PL.2 points

All we can do is try our best to win tomorrow and take it to the final day of the season. If we win tomorrow then it's still very much all to play for. Sheffield United and Luton are both carrying loads of injuries to first team regulars, plus the nerves could cripple them, so their two spots are possible for us if we can win our two games. However, if we don't get into the play offs then I won't be too disappointed as I'm sure that we can only improve next season, as we seem to have some good structures in place behind the scenes for the first time in a very long time and there's a very2 points
