I’m not saying anything after the last time we were linked with a centre back who played for Hull.7 points

Coming for transfer news but seeing religion being discussed 😝🤣6 points

Caoimhin Kelleher has just told the Irish media that he doesn’t think he wants to stay on the bench at Liverpool and will probably look for a loan next season. I would be happy with him at the Boro. Anyone else?5 points

Still salty 🤭 https://celtsarehere.com/dont-back-down-double-down-midfielder-wont-admit-celtic-transfer-mistake/4 points

Well I just happen to know of a Keeper (or two) who would be ideal as back ups for the bench. In fact Boro would gladly offer Liverpool a "Bogof" if they let us have Kelleher, Buy one and get one free! If Brad Jones ticked their boxes then I'm sure we could reluctantly part with another!2 points

Yes to simplify it a bit further it’s Irish for Kevin2 points

Was - maybe still is - Applied in Ireland widely. Latin for left is “sinister”, so anyone left footed, or left handed was seem to be inferior. Kids in school used to get rapped on knuckles for trying to right with left hand. Used by both Catholics and Protestants as a derogatory term for each other.2 points

I think my Nanna would have looked more effective than McGree when playing for Celtic in the SPL, to be honest.2 points

Ridiculous decision by Wilder regarding Payero. Screams to me of him pushing his weight around internally to make sure we shop where he wants.2 points

In for Kourtney hause but his agent is trying to engineer for Premier league transfer Grant Hall and wilder had a massive bust up after hall played in a under 23 match and only came in fir a half gym session the following day. Like I mentioned earlier in January, we received an extra million for Spence deal. 500k to extend deal and 500k for promotion. We are still trying to get European loan interest in Payero loan but looks like he may get his wish and go back to Argentina with us paying 60per cent wages! Personally gutted about this but wilder made it clear that he doesn't th2 points

How can personal terms be agreed without agreeing a price with us first? I didn't think clubs could speak to contracted players without the clubs permission?1 point

I know, let's talk about politics! Any thoughts on the result of the no-confidence vote, chaps? (Please don't actually start talking about politics. I was joking. Have mercy mods 🙏).1 point

Really need some signings for the sake of this thread1 point

If that’s the case then it should just be a matter of days. Surely we’re not going to let them talk to Spence if the club doesn’t feel confident in reaching an agreement with spurs.1 point

Just consulted my Boro bible and Middlesbrough Ironopolis existed alongside MFC. They formed as a breakaway club due to an argument amongst the members over whether or not to remain amateur or become a professional club. MFC chose to remain amateur while Ironopolis went pro. As a matter of fact the "Nops" created a bit of footballing history by becoming the first club to be registered as a limited liability company. It was short-lived though (1885-1894) as they eventually went bankrupt. MFC's fortunes were on the up though. They won the Northern League championship 1893-4 and th1 point

2/10 A completely pointless signing. Only the fact that he started eight or nine games, and scored a goal, made the signing worth more than 1/10. An attacking player with no assists, and only one goal, is a poor show however you want to look at it. He started enough games to produce more than that but the fact that he only managed 90 mins twice probably tells you how ineffective he was. I would be interested to know how much we were paying him while he was here, and again, exactly who it was who wanted him in the first place.1 point

As a child my Scottish friends called me a left-footer because I went to a Catholic school in Edinburgh. I don't really know if it is a common nickname or even if it was some sort of insult, but Celtic fans were also commonly called left-footers. Maybe just in Scotland.1 point

Indeed. Could be anywhere from Virgil Van Dijk to Kevin Thomson.1 point

the club spoke out dismissing that they wouldnt be spending anywhere near 5.8m on any player when asked about payero so 8m is even more way off1 point

exactly I've always been a fan in the idea of him and hoping we get what we want but he seemed pretty damn happy about leaving the country on twitter the minute the season was over. People only factoring in the potential we signed and not the actual person and their attitude and wishes, which if they not in line with the club then all we going to do is run that contract and his value down1 point

Would rather Bergwijn and Romero1 point

aye exactly chelsea situation is forced by the government so there is extra pressure to push it through when they can, derbys situation is down to their owners own fault so its more a case of let the administrators do what they paid for and sell it on or liquidate it mad how a fan has bought the stadium, would of thought that be a bit of a risk unless they some contracted terms that would force the sale if the new owners wanted to buy it now.1 point

Whenever a team loses a game it's always down to lack of effort it seems. I didn't see an England team barely giving 50% yesterday. We started the brighter but Hungary were always a threat on the counter, and the heat was obviously a factor. I thought the team was a little unbalanced with two right footed players on the left and we didn't carry much of a threat from that side - we attacked down there we just didn't look all that fluent to me, and Justin looks more like a defender trying to get forward than a natural attacking wingback. Unfortunately Alexander-Arnold had a poor game on the1 point

I am not one of those fans who will claim one of our youngsters should automatically be developed by the club over signing a youngster on loan from another club. Because if the latter is better then I am all for it. However. Having seen Parrott i genuinely don't think he is better than Coburn so really dont see any need for Parrott as he wont be coming to be a starter here and he not as good as current back up imo.1 point
-
Any deal with Spurs for Spence should include us getting Troy Parrott on loan imo1 point
-
Why? All the money will be in installments anyway and we'll know it's coming, it wouldn't hold up any transfer business, if they think they can squeeze an extra million or two out of the deal there's no rush.1 point

I want something crazy. We’ve had the boring ones. I want 96/97 style randomness - stick the badge on the armpit, shirt number on the front, sponsor down the arms. Something along those lines will go down very well. Set it to maximum on 90’s kit designs pls1 point

In our most successful season in recent times, our first choice back two played 29 and 34 games respectively. I don't have an issue with players being injured, and it's absurd to assume that players will not pick up injuries. It's having strength in depth that is important.1 point

doesn't look like Lenihan manages a full season that often either looking at his history. before this season of 41 games. he had: 36 in 21/20, 37 in 20/19, 34 in 19/18 and only 14 in during Blacksburns league 1 season.1 point

It's a religious bigotry thing very common in the Central Belt of Scotland and Northern Ireland and to a lesser degree the ROI. Left Footers are Catholics and Right Footers are Protestant, jibes such as "he digs with his left foot" are commonplace even today, a less than subtle way of informing someone that the person they are talking about is from "the other side". A less common one is "he wears red socks", the Pope allegedly always wears or wore Red Socks thus the individual is a Catholic (not that they were actually wearing Red Socks just to be clear). This is the reason Celtic fans are cal0 points

Think I would rather see Finch. He may be the future, Hoppe appears not. -
You lot are determined to make this the lowest posted MDT of the season......................so far!! Anyway we owe it to the rest of the league to field our strongest possible starting 11 giving Hoppe the chance to strut his stuff😉
