  2. well done to that man who got this right yesterday 👍🏻

  3. It is the football fan way (myself included) We were all getting very antsy about the kit reveal too, questioning why the club was taking so long and getting annoyed. Just saw this graphic: Only 6 clubs, one being Middlesbrough, have even revealed their kit.

  5. @Changing Times @Brunners more data on Roberts. Seems like he's been on the up and up since a shaky start with Walsall.

  7. I feel the name Roberts and goalkeeper fills me with memories of dread. Hopefully he has come to save the surname.

  9. If the justification is "well people still buy them 🤷‍♂️" then it's just the club exploiting peoples' passion for their team. Fans shouldn't have to vote with their feet for fair and appropriate pricing. £560 in one of the least affluent parts of the country is borderline predatory. I think it's too much for a Premier League side let alone a club that's been a perennial championship side for over a decade. At 16 Premier League clubs you can buy an adult season ticket for a lower price. If you go up the road tickets are almost 50% cheaper for the same standard of football. I'm glad we've g

  10. It could be that he wants to stay and the club want him to stay, so it makes sense for him to train with the squad, but his agent is just going back and forth over the finer points of the contract.

  11. One thing I hadn't put together with Roberts is that he's coming from Northampton where WIlder used to be manager. Obviously having only joined them last summer he hasn't managed him but you'd think there'll be people at the club that Wilder knows and will have spoken to about him.

  12. Lumley has him easily beaten in errors leading to goals though 😎

  14. Terrible attitude according to fans of her old club. They hope she ends up in non-league in a couple of years.

  15. I hope, like any Boro fan, that we start getting more value for money in the transfer market and we have to give this new regime a chance to prove it or they're paying the price for a time when the club didn't have a dedicated person in charge of football beyond the manager. But I thoroughly understand why anyone would read that last sentence and consider that we have, in fact, never gotten what we've paid for in terms of value for money. If we buy a £3m midfielder instead of spunking £7m on George Saville, would our team have been much worse? If we bought a £2m striker instead of the £6-

  22. Best move for him, a step up in quality at a club that he already knows very well.

  23. It's a price I'd agree to pay. But I didn't do it because I thought it was a good price. I did it because it is the best and only way to watch this team consistently at the Riverside in this country. Fans have to make that choice; whether to see their team or not. Those who've been going for decades, it's going to be less of a choice and "How can we make this work?" I said it earlier in the thread. The club doesn't see the impact it will have on people because a lot of people will still pay, it sees that people are happy to pay because they did. Despite your own and some others stances, I

  24. Lol. Statistically last season he was in the upper half of goalkeepers for all the important stats pretty much. I'd say he was decent. He's miles, miles ahead of Joe Lumley though, who ranks dangerously low in far too many categories, so it's a huge upgrade based on what we had previously.

  27. Unless someone here happens to watch an unusually high amount of league two football, you're unlikely to get an answer, sadly. Clean sheets are a bit of a dangerous stat to use - Lumley had 13 last year and he was a disaster.

  29. I haven't posted on here for a while, because I needed to take a break from Boro-related matters after the way last season ended. However, I've been following the Derby debacle with some interest. The EFL fixture list is due to come out at 9am on Thursday. Isn't there a compelling case for setting a hard deadline of (e.g.) 5pm on Wednesday, and telling Derby that if a takeover isn't concluded by then, they won't appear in the league fixtures for the 2022/23 season? Quantuma have had many months to sell the club, and they'd probably continue to procrastinate til the end of time if the

  30. How can you be sure he’s way down on the list, Tom? It’s quite clear that we’ll bringing in at least one new GK this summer but I don’t think anyone has an idea who is on the list. Well I can't be sure, to be honest mate. But it's been a month now that he's been a free agent, and we've been looking for a goalkeeper since long before that. If he were our top priority, he may not necessarily have signed by now, but I'm sure we'd have seen a more concrete link than a single line in an article about a different goalkeeper.

  31. Have I missed something about everyone getting they knickers in a twist over Ben Foster? The Echo article is clearly an error and meant Heaton or is there somewhere else we been linked with Foster?

  33. I think this is the key point. If £560 was just the average price for a season ticket now, that would be a bit more acceptable. It's knowing that we're one of the most expensive in the top two leagues that is the problem. Especially when (IMO anyway) the "we cost more because we spend more money" is a *** excuse when we keep wasting that money.

  34. It really isn't relevant or the gotcha you seem to think it is if someone buys a season ticket, you just remind me of this cartoon. I didn't get one, I live out of the area and can't justify one. My last season ticket season was Pulis' final year before I moved for work. I wasn't asking for your personal justification of why you bought one, I was asking what your justification is for defending the club on their pricing so much? You spend a significant portion of your income on a ticket, does it not annoy you that you pay significantly more than many other fans in the c

  35. Cheapest was £450 early bird renewal, £514 early bird new applicant. £560 General Sale. Our early bird offers were significantly more expensive than everyone else's but Norwich too.

  36. I am too young to remember Cooper's first spell, so there was no rose tinted nostalgia for me. He was good when he came back. Not a world beater, but a solid Premier League defender.

  37. A few days later and my opinion on the shirt is just the same unfortunately. A very poor underwhelming effort from Errea and an eyesore of a Sponsor who somehow missed getting their full address, email and phone number on the front of the shirt.
