  1. I haven’t had a lot. My source has been quiet since he met a new lass and he’s spending every spare minute with her and her lad Mungo. Nothing more on Darlow only that announced soon.

  2. I’ve been told Darlow could be confirmed as early as Monday.

  3. It seems the oneboro ducking stool mentality was out in full force today, a new poster whose username upset a few posts something, gets ridiculed and the dogs abuse for it, savagely attacked by the pack only to find out that his prophecy was actually true and correct and that he wasn't a Witch after all. Shame he drowned, still he deserved it as he was obviously a Troll and didn't fit in with the Mean Boys. Very intriguing and interesting to see who liked the more moderate, reasonable posts calling for fairness and who didn't. Irony is if Juninho23 was a wind up merchant he has had the la

  4. Isn’t it the same situation with us with Spence and Jones? Both had a decent season but fans saying we shouldn’t accept anything less than 15 million. Coventry fans are basically doing the exact same thing but getting called deluded…. And I’d say strikers generally go for more than right backs do. that’s not me saying I’d pay that for him but just trying to look at it from a different perspective

  5. McGoldrick Experience ✅ Winning mentality ✅ Brings height to the box ✅ Knows the system and the manager ✅ The usual forum suspects writing him off ✅ If he is on a reasonable wage ... It could be a succes .. I wouldn't be against it ...

  6. I'm quite happy with us supposedly being close to signing David McGoldrick. Unexciting signings are unfairly considered bad signings. He's a perfect fit for Wilder and his system, provides much needed experience, is a physical presence and will be on a modest wage. It's the epitome of a low risk signing so it really doesn't warrant any extreme negativity. We've got to be sustainably run and don't have money to throw about at every signing so there was always going to be the sorts of unglamorous signings. As others have already said, it will help free up budget for us to bring in better 1st an

  7. It’s always the case with some fans mate. Crooks was perfect example last summer. Turned out to be by far our best signing.

  8. Scouting department: we’ve found you a good player perfect fit for the team. Wilder: is he from ROI scout: yes Wilder: sign him up

  9. Quote from Wilder this morning; “We’re a reasonable football club, but some of the numbers you sometimes get quoted are ridiculous and we’re not going to allow anyone to take advantage of us. We got quoted £20-25m for a forward playing in the Championship recently, but we didn’t think that was a fair number” Surely that can’t be Gyokores as the £20-£25m striker 😅 Madness

  10. Darlow would be a very good keeper at this level. Very happy if this one works out. Darlow with Roberts to challenge is a God send compared to last term.

  11. has Juninho23 confirmed the Payero deal? if not im skeptical of its validity.

  12. Ayala was solid in the PL. Ramirez too but he was already technically a PL player. Stuani probably would have been if he'd been played as a striker.

  14. Can't we just buy brit back for 1m and swap him for Gyork instead?

  15. What did Juninho10 do? Was he just a bit annoying and posted up a bit of rubbish? I saw somebody posted up a racially sensitive word for Jewish people today and get a mild rebuke from the mods - did Juninho10 use racially sensitive language? Pitiful day for this board if I’m honest 👎🏻

  16. Embarrassing for the posters going at him, even more so for the mods to ban him for no reason.

  17. Rather have Payero in midfield than Paddy. He is rubbish there. Pretty crap at the back as well. I would punt him as he would be no loss.

  18. Maybe Wilder is going to move McNair back into CM (where he is much better) now that Lenihan has come in? Frees up Payero to move on and make some $$$ back.

  19. I'm a big fan of McGoldrick so I'm in the minority who would be pleased to have him in the squad.

  20. think its nearly impossible for a championship without parachute payments to aqquire a player who could step up to the prem as most players who can make the step up are usually already playing the prem and would cost a fortune. so were forced to take punts on good proven championship-level players. Also hard to tell who can make the step as the quality gap is huge. Gayle is 20-30+ goal a season striker in the champ, but has never really come close to cutting in the prem. Ben Gibson was the best defender in the championship in the years he spent with us including our promotion. Yet, he has

  22. Absolutely not. Spence belongs to us therefore he is valued at exactly the right fee (probably a bit under but we’re nice folk) all those other clubs are deluded money grabbers intent on pulling our pants down. #facts 🤪

  23. would be happy with McGoldrick even if it was just to mentor Josh.. similar attributes and "been there and done it".. much more preferable than a "project" from one of the franchises

  24. McGoldrick is an upgrade on what we have, is a free and has experience with a winning mentality. Not a long term appointment of course, but 6ft 1 could be a good aerial presence in the box when needing a goal? I could think of worse players to get on a free tbh

  27. Understand that line of thinking, but on the flipside if we were promoted to the prem we'd ideally want better strikers than we're able to attract now. Bringing those 3 in would mean we wouldn't have Championship level strikers needing shifted on if we were promoted next summer, or put us in a tricky spot if we cock it up, miss out and need to mind FFP for the next couple seasons. Good way to gamble without getting stranded with another Fletcher/Britt situation.

  28. This is mad if true, isn't it. He was signed on a 3 year deal wasn't he? So 18 months from now, when he has 6 months left on his deal, why the *** would they take up the option to buy!? 😂

  30. I would at least hope they tried to bring players in that could also step up to the premier league instead of bringing too many short term solution so we have to go through it all again next summer regardless of which division we’re in. I’m not against a couple but it’s looking like a fair few loans will come in so to top it off with a 34 year old short term solution just seems a bit over the top. It’s not really mcgoldrick that I’m against, but I’m wary of too many short term solutions.

  32. Excitement appears to be a lot of fans sole barometer of whether a signing is considered good.

  33. The reaction to the McGoldrick link is very reminiscent of when we’d been linked to Rhodes and McCormack all summer and then signed David Nugent, who was at the time an unfashionable signing but was ultimately key to our promotion

  34. As soon as the takeover is done there will be plenty of out of contract lower league players willing to play for derby and they won’t cost much in wages. They will still have the pull of decent facilities a bit stadium and a big crowd. They will get plenty of attention too so players might see it as a chance to get into the limelight.

  35. Still not sure on Gyokeres, it's another case of us buying a striker at their highest value, then we'll be shocked when he can't repeat his form. Fair enough if we're spending 5m on him but 10m is too much of a risk for one successful championship season for me.

  36. In the BBC's article on this it mentions Rooney's assistant Liam Rosenior will be taking training next week. Had to read it twice when it mentioned the club has FIVE remaining contracted players. 😮 If I were them I probably wouldn't bother turning up. So basically Quantuma have got just a few weeks to actually get an owner in place, then that owner has to get a manager and staff in, then they both have to work to basically bring in an entire squad in time for the new season... Dunno about anyone else, but I don't see it happening. Apparently the latest bidder to step up is a l

  37. It's a great little signing to bolster the squad for a year He has 63 prem appearances in the 2 of the last 3 seasons, 50 of them starts Last time Wilder had him in the champ he had a 1 in 3 record Maybe by spending nothing on McGoldrick for 3rd/4th choice it allows us to spend big on our 1st and 2nd choices

  39. Wherever it is, it needs to be somewhere Coburn gets to play regularly otherwise it's a waste of his and our time. On McGoldrick, not really the path I'd like to see us take to be honest, and even more so if we're serious about signing Gayle. That's two short term type signings, if the loan of Armstrong is legit then that's another one. It's like pushing a fairly big problem down the road rather than fixing it now. Gyokeres would be the exception to that of course. It just seems like a weird transfer window if our business is Roberts on a free, Lenihan on a free, Giles on loan, a

  40. How is this even an ongoing debate? Maybe what he said was BS. Maybe genuine info. It's called a rumour. You get to take it with a pinch of salt in the same way you might do if lurker, raf, digger etc had thrown forward something they had heard. Same if it came from some half-baked article in the Sun, or from Mungo Jerry (or whatever the hell that Twitter poster was called). Berating him off the forum is as embarrassing as begging to give him a rimjob to get him back through the door. More importantly, absolutely chuffed with the signings we've already brought in & how quickly we

  41. I called it as a joke just because of his link with Wilder. Didn’t think it was ever going to actually happen. 😂 But I’m trusting Wilder on this one he’ll have his reason(s) for bringing him in. Reminds me of the David Nugent signing in some way.

  42. I never thought I'd say this, but I've got a lot of respect for Rooney. He did as good job as anyone could have despite diabolical circumstances, and appears to have quit as a matter of principle without airing any dirty laundry in public. He'll be high up the pecking order for subsequent managerial jobs, based on how he's handled this omnishambles. As for Derby...they really are up the creek without a paddle, aren't they? The new season starts five weeks tomorrow, and they have five players, no manager, no owner, no ground and a f**kload of debt.

  46. McGoldrick as the 5th, barely ever plays, good experience, can be used in a pinch striker allowing Josh Coburn to go on loan and play 46 games wouldn't be the worst move in the world. I don't expect McGoldrick to get any major minutes or anything

Hackney hasn't been in the squad the last two games after making a fleeting appearance on the bench a couple of weeks ago. He's not ready to start a game. I think it'll be mcnair in for ayling like you say but I reckon vdb starts at right back like early on in the season. The rest will be unchanged but with greenwood in for silvera.

If Dijksteel does not start this, then the writing really is on the wall for him, if its jot already anyway. I actually don't think he will start. I think Paddy will come in and we will change to a wing back system with Jones and Engel - which will say a lot about what MC thinks of Dijksteel in not trusting him at RB or as a 3rd CB (he played his best football there for us) Also would not be surprised to see Hackney replace Greenwood and plsy in an advanced role but rather Silveria or Gilbert there: Dieng Paddy VDB Clarke Jones Howson O'Brien Engel Silveria LL Azaz
