Introduction
Well I get round to doing another MDT as the Boro travel to currently table topping Leeds in what should be a festival of good open football between two I think fair to say evenly matched teams and certainly a good game for any neutral to watch.
Leeds coming off the back of a 2-0 home win against Derby whilst Boro came away from a credible 1-1 draw at Burnley.
Two enormous away days on the spin with a lot of forum members stating that they would be satisfied with 4 points from the games.
Personally I would be ok with just two points as it means that two of the top 3 teams in the league failed to beat the Boro at their gaff however a win would be so fine.
Form
Leeds winning 5 out of 5 at home whilst we have won 3 drawn one and lost one away from home during the last five away days.
Questions
Is Leeds a local derby or just another ground to play football on?
With the likes of Burnley and Leeds do those teams have an advantage due to still receiving parachute payments?
I saw a Leeds player go off injured against Derby which might be an advantage to us but did we suffer any injuries against Burnley?
Who do you prefer to start ELL or Conway?
How important is Azaz now to Boro?
Can you see an away win for Boro?
A view from Downsouth
As a MDT author you always hope that you can go on on some sort of winning run however I think my authorship will come to an end however I do see Boro getting something from the game and producing a fine performance one that we can be proud of!
Thanks now over to you with your team suggestions and all the gossip leading up to the match.
@AnglianRed remember Tuesday buddy!
Looks like WBA simply can't beat people at home: played 9, won 2, drawn 6, lost 1, goals for 6, against 5. Pts 12
Their away record is much better P10, W4, D5, L1, GF 15, GA 9, pts 17
Classic case of not being able to beat teams who come to defend. It can go two ways. A bit like us in the early days under AK, if they can get their forward line clicking then they'll start turning those draws into wins. Alternately, in an attempt to get better at scoring they may break their defence.
My thoughts too on Michael Carrick resting Ayling with the Leeds game in mind?
With MOTM Dijksteel, who has performed really well this season, was also MOTM, scored & had an assist in our 3-0 league cup win in September so with that in mind I hope Carrick sticks with Dijksteel
They've now drawn 10 of their last 11 games, winning the other one, good unbeaten run but would have been better off winning 4 & losing 6 of those 10 games
One of the strangest opening post from a new member ever!
If you are here to just for the crack and to post silly things you will not last long I can promise you
Dieng
Dijk Fry Ed Borges
Barlaser Hackney
Doak Azaz McGree

Subs: Brynn, Ayling, Clarke, Howson, Jones, Gilbert, Burgzorg, Conway, Forss/Hamilton.
Minimum of 4pts from next 2 games hopefully. Not fussed what order they come.
Can't stand Lovejoy, fake as £**&. The continual inane smarmy grinning annoys the heck out of me. Like the Saturday Morning Football show with Hell's Bells it has run it's course and they either need to scrap it or get new hosts to boost it.
The FA cUp lost it's credibility and heritage when the FA allowed Man Utd to not compete in it so they could play in the South American Lego Copa Mudial years ago. It's been priced out of it's once prestigious history by the Premiership and European millions. Throw in reserve teams and teams even content to go out to concentrate on more important issues and the excitement I had for it growing up has long gone.
Yeah, he's in the last year of his contract, but it's only an issue in January if we want to sell or he wants to sign for a foreign club in the summer, domestic clubs can't sign pre-contracts.
I'd be offering him a new contract, I think he's proven himself to Carrick.
I dont think any of our big players will leave in January, more the fringe players TBH
Both Dijksteel & Barlasar were mentioned to be moving on either, at the start of the season or January, both players have to remain here
I didn't call them plodders?
I said they weren't plodders.
Don't be daft and pretend you think that squad deserved to be 21st and it's only through Carrick that we moved up either, we had a bad run under Wilder and turned it around, same as we did under Carrick last season.
I've just never seen you call pulis a failure for what he "achieved" here, so it surprised me.
Carrick will at least be leaving us in good hands when he moves on with the kind of footballers he and Scott have brought into the club, and he's entertained the fans far more than anything seen during any of the previous 4 managers, so those are (albeit minor) achievements to me to go with his play off finish.
Some of the views on here really are unbelievable. Took us from 21st to 4th in 3/4 of season. lost 7 of players in that team the following season got to us to 8th with 12/13 new players in the squad including many young players. He’s got us 5th with 28 games, scoring goals and improving results. We play attacking football sometimes predictable but far more enjoyable to watch than plenty of previous managers. The squad value has improved by about 60m with young players he’s handy superbly and developed. His time here hasn’t been a failure in any sense.
Initially I thought yes, but then thought of how Clarke returned and has been huge for us and Fry who actually looks a far better CB than he was prior to his injury so I'm not so sure 🤷♂️
