I agree with all that but my concern is that salary wise O'Brien would be way out of our affordability even if the initial fee to Forest was manageable. As yet I haven't seen enough to make him our highest earner or even remotely close to it.
That's what worries me, some London based Marketing "expert" conveys what he/she/they believe is representational of Teesside based on the weekend they spent at Rockliffe.
Don't think anyone is suggesting that we play random academy players.
I personally think that if we need someone to play up front tomorrow that we should choose Finch rather than Greenwood or Silvera.
I think that Willis ought to get, at some point, at least 30 minutes in a game rather than just a run around for the last minute. If we do that sooner rather than later and he impresses enough, he gets a chance to get more time on the pitch before the end of the season.
That's probably about it. I have no idea what's happened with Gilbert and Nkrumah or why Hoppe isn't even on the bench but unless we're seriously considering signing Greenwood then I have no idea why he is on the bench. Sure he's undoubtedly better than Gilbert or McCabe at this point but we'll get far more out of one or two of those getting actual time on the pitch than just having Greenwood run around for a while.
Ayling we clearly need right now. I can see an argument of O'Brien having a few more games to try to prove he's worth making a bid for. Thomas may as well just go back to Leicester as O'Brien can sub in at left back. McNair will probably leave but we need him to start so that's fine.
