    • Homegrown players are worth more to teams aren't they if they're sold vs. players they've brought in. It's why there was such a transfer-fest earlier this summer of teams essentially swapping young players for ridiculous sums of money. But it's also come as a necessity for some teams - when you buy someone like Casemiro and pay them the amount you do, good luck getting any return on it. Those types of signings have to be for the success of here and now. United either don't see that or they seem to stupidly think they're one or two experienced quality players from becoming a success the next season. It's baffling.
    • ***. He'll be straight back to Sunderland. That's bad news.
    • United's problem is that in the past, they had one of the best academy/youth system in the UK and rarely fielded a team that wasn't predominately home grown and regarded themselves as equals in the respect they had all come through the system. Since the arrival of the Glazers, it seems as though that philosophy has gone and they are incessantly linked to whoever is flavour of the month in Europe. Players seem to be bought and sold for the sake of it and any good players that come through the system, like McTominay,  are being sold. Has it reached the stage where commercial success has become more important than on the field results?
    • yep teams are going to park the bus far more at our place than infront of their own fans
    • wonder how much man utd have burned on hiring and firing ashworth  I kinda feel like everyone hated on the glazers but think they were doing a better job than jim lol  everything always seems like its 150% one direction then they suddenly U turn to 150% the other way, and constantly burn money doing it and *** people off along the way.
