  1. I think the only thing up for debate is when to sell, not if, the reality is we will sell, but when will be the peak value, that's why Mr Scott gets the big bucks.
  2. So do we take £7m profit (if the £10m is correct) or wait until summer and hope to get £11m+ profit as his stock rises and interest grows, adding into the mix the usual promoted/relegated clubs, plus any other who are no doubt watching.
  3. to keep my response in context @Humpty had suggested there are no guarantees Rogers will fulfil his obvious potential, I just countered that. So what's your point?
  4. Villa aren't interested in him because they believe he'll fail to develop, but because they expect him to develop well beyond his current level. Which can only serve imo to underline the reason to keep him until the summer as the earliest point of departure, it's a gamble but so was signing him in the first place.
  5. Crooks made Thiago look sprightly !
  6. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/norwich-city-transfer-latest-wagner-issues-rowe-update-amid-tottenham-and-brentford-interest-canaries-bid-for-french-midfielder/ The 20-year-old's performances have not gone unnoticed, with The Sun claiming that Norwich rejected a £15 million bid from Wolverhampton Wanderers in August, while Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford have all been linked in recent months.
  7. Difference in the 2 games is simple, at ours they missed all the chances we gifted them, at theirs they buried them. Understand the drive to play from the back but keep the press honest and go long when you need to, losing the ball 50yds from goal is better than 20yds. a week and a half to get over this, Sunderland next and a big chance to put smiles back on faces, C'mon Boro
  8. Not the best way to end the cup run but a chance to regroup and kick on in the league
  9. As long as we turn up and put in a good performance, the result will take care of itself. Win, lose or draw UTB
  10. Carrick wouldn't use Muniz when he was here, so why would we bring him back?
  11. Think Rogers needs to stay if he wants to come close to fulfilling his potential, 2 seasons on the bench for Villa and his career will be lower leagues, like most of the Chelsea loan brigade that never nail down a club. 8 months here will I believe be the making of him.
  12. Free hit as far as I'm concerned, no pressure on us, an early goal for us would really get the crowd on their backs, C'mon Boro!!!
  13. Hope Rogers stays, think that this squad with a season in the league plus a couple of additional players. RB, CF, CM will be able to challenge for promotion next season.
  14. If Rogers is pushing for a move he can put a transfer request in, will cost him and the club money but we won't have the he didn't want to go back story to listen to. If Rogers has a stormer on Tuesday then more chance of getting the fee the club has deemed his value, if he had a mare, we may have to evaluate our position. Hope he stays, as there's a lot more to come.
  15. I think that's his starting position
  16. The Independent piece says they are struggling with FFP, so they may not be able to meet our price, so have started to try to unsettle the player.
  17. All of our summer signings apart from Dieng are about next season more than this and Rogers is no exception. But if we sell I think it increases the likelihood that Greenwood signs, subject to a contract being agreed.
  18. Given we want a young RB for next season on over is Hayden likely to be available as a part of the deal?
  19. @VillaGuy he's just started on his real development, can't see him troubling your match day squad for a while yet, but you never know.
  20. start with at least £10m before add ons even begin, 20% sell on and a look at their U21s who we no doubt know all about
  21. Can't see the move being good for Rogers, but with tough negotiations, possibly players plus cash it could be very good for us.
  22. Plenty of contract left, but price tag and a sell on clause, it's the business model we are developing, bought by City for £4m wonder if they have a percentage of any fee.
  23. Where did you hear this?
