  1. You obviously missed his tackles, blocks and headers that Lenihan never makes.
  2. No, we looked better with Fry and Dijksteel in defence instead of McNair and Lenihan.
  3. Careful with all that ambition. So much acceptance of such timidity and mediocrity.
  4. Rubbish. You are mistaking Cash Flow with a P&L (from which FFP is calculated). CV will not be paying all of the fee now, but they may not have made any element of the fee conditional. My feeling is that we have spent too long with Levy and got too clever in how we want to structure add ons to a base fee. People mix up very different things.
  5. Surridge is another who will not be good enough. He is not a happy medium and we don't need happy mediums anyway.
  6. I really hope we don't sign him. That would be too much quantity up front, but too little quality. Surely if we are to sign a striker it needs to be a good one?
  7. Our squad is already indisputably stronger than last season, but if there is further scope and budget to recruit better, then I hope we do it. A lead striker bought in (Gyok or Larsen) and one or even two moved out before thursday night would be great. Another couple of quality midfielders (one on loan) in and it would feel like the squad is completed. The right number of players, each with cover/competition to play Wilder's system. It's been a long haul, but would be worth it in the end.
  8. Great post Borodane. Pulis had to go, should have gone after Villa playoff. He was a cancer. Gibson needs to accept his culpability. When you are dictator, it is impossible to blame anyone else after so long.
  9. So that went well under Southgate. Seriously, Malcolm Crosby and Lee Clarke?
  10. Gibson has paid £64m to own the club. He bought the original £1m of shares from 86 at cost from ICI, S&N and Moskowitz. He injected £50m in 2012, £5m in 2014 and £8m in 2016 which allowed £63m of debt to be converted into this new equity. without that the Club would have folded. So Gibson has effectively bought the Club for £64m. This is what he has “put in”. Everything else is loans from his Group, which he owns 75% of, with Mike owning the rest. Some of that debt that Gibson had allowed to build to 2012 was external, some was internal to Gibson ONeill Group. T
  11. I think it is hard to criticise Gibson up pre Eindhoven. Not sure why you would want to anyway. Gibson is not a nice bloke, but many successful business people aren't. I think Gibson made mainly terrible decisions from Southgate until listening to Kenyon and appointing Karanka (his only good decision in 13 years). Since the sadly under-funded Premier League season, Gibson has got things spectacularly wrong; from Managers through Executives, to Recruitment and Players. His decisions have wasted the PL revenue lifeline and left the Club a financial basket case. We are now welded t
  12. Of course it's not all Pulis's fault. It is Gibson's fault, but one of his terrible decisions was hiring Pulis.
  13. Pulis has a career record of 1 promotion out of the Championship and one play off season. He's had an awful lot of seasons in his career with most of them outside the top flight. Karanka equalled Pulis Championship record in just two successive seasons. Had he been properly backed by Gibson in the summer of 2016 I believe we would still be in the PL. Pulis was desperately bad for us. I'm delighted he is gone. I didn't want Woodgate, but once appointed he should be given a chance, not thrown under the bus by the lost boy Gibson.
  14. Gibson is the problem. Not his lack of money to compete directly with the "big boys" anymore. It is his awful decision making and insularity.
  15. MFC will lose a lot of money this season. This loss will have to be balanced by further Undertakings to Group (GO'N) i.e. increasing the intra company "loan". The Club will be net valued at even less than -£57m. The Club only continues as a Going Concern because of these Group Undertakings. Gibson as 75% shareholder in the Group is seeing his entity go further and further underwater. He can blame absolutely nobody else, as he makes all the decisions that have led to this performance and financial status. Seriously, what is going to change? As for his daughter taking the reigns;
