Although it would be a plus with that link up, we create so many chances we just need someone to finish them.

None of our strikers have much link up ability tbh

Bit of a weird one that. I don’t understand why West Brom didn’t just cut out the middle man and get Twine in themselves. Clearly the better of the two imo Weimann has had one good season in his entire career and it was about two years ago.

Plus I’m pretty sure Bristol have negotiated a buy-option in the Twine loan so you have the potential for something more long-term if it works out as he’s still a decent age. Weimann is out of contract in the summer but he’ll also be 33.

I think the fact Burnley terminated Twines loan and Hull didn't seem too bothered shows that he's not lived up to the hype, where as Weimann is fairly proven

Has there ever been any firm Premiership interest in him?

If as Rob suggests his value is around £5M that is chicken feed in the Premiership, plus I'd doubt he would he get into any of the Leicester, Leeds or Southampton sides?

If Ipswich go up they might have a sniff perhaps or Luton now as they seem to be building with one eye on the Championship?

Exactly this, hes well thought of by fans but has he really put himself in the shop window since being here? hes missed out on good opportunities to do so this season with the injuries and I am not sure he has really raised his profile

The only thing with that though is we still need someone to play up front.  Latte Lath is injured, Coburn is managing some sort of injury as well, so an actual striker is needed rather than just signing lots of attacking midfielders, when we already happen to have lots of them already.  Like we'd be signing a player on loan potentially, and taking away game time from lads we've just signed in the summer.  In a few weeks time we're going to have McGree, Silvera, Jones, Forss, Rogers, Azaz, Greenwood, Crooks, that's 7 players for three positions, and that is without considering a Diallo or Ramsey, both of whom I'd be happy to have here but I don't know if it fixes any issues we have.

Yeah I don't disagree, I do wonder which strikers we are looking at though as it looks a difficult market

He would get us up the pitch and then misplace a simple pass. Maybe I'm being harsh but he's a very frustrating player in my eyes.

I do agree he's frustrating but he does add something to the side and has a knack for creating something, he's got the most assists for us now too and overall the most contributions

If Diallo comes in someone is either leaving or maybe Carrick likes this false nine thing.

I think we need to consider that we may think we either can't find an appropriate striker or can't afford one, if you can get a good goalscoring midfielder that is available you take it

I must be in the minority but I thought Rogers was awful vs Millwall. Couldn't make a simple pass and was anonymous until he played the chance to Crooks and then the assist for Forss. Azaz is a huge improvement on Rogers in my eyes.

He was anonymous until he made two great chances and constantly got us up the pitch

Whilst Coulson,  individually has not had a game as bad as some others, such as Engel or Dijksteel.

Issue with Coulson is I don't think he good enough for this level whereas Engel has shown he is and so has Dijksteel

Issue is not who has put in worst performance but ability.

Good move for Coulson though. Top end League 1.

Has Dijksteel? I still think he is living off performances at CB otherwise he is largely a liability. I do agree regarding Engel, although his lack of pace is sometimes a worry

Our worst left back performances this season have come from Engel, and it isn't even close.  Having said that, there is clearly no place here for Coulson so it's better he's out somewhere else with a chance to play.  It's a pity we couldn't get our business done earlier, and we maybe could have arranged for a free transfer somewhere else during the summer.

Oh yeah, I agree. Coulson isn't good enough for us but he's equally never been the problem for us this season.

Engel and Dijksteel have both had much worse performances, although I do think Engel has shown promise

This is an insane take. I'm going to be cold in the ground before we manage to shift Coulson

how? hes played a couple of games this season and has been fine, Dijksteel has gave away pens and generally looked like hes never played football before

If they haven't then I know for sure that it is one of their goals, to provide the best support for the team on the pitch, pretty much unfettered by the team's performance.

In that case I stand corrected and would argue they certainly don't do that nowadays

I wish we stopped singing "We're going up" (I roll my eyes every time I hear it, when it started going at Port Vale the other night, goodness me), other than that I'm not too fussed unless RF decide to pick something they know only they will know and learn the words to.

On their own, RF are pretty quiet to most the stadium. I'm all for bringing in something new and fresh but you have to communicate that to people or it won't pick up and it won't generate an atmosphere. One of their key aims is to help generate a cauldron of atmosphere but if you can't even get the immediate surrounding South Stand fans to join in then you won't do that.

Twe12th Man go for more of the tried and traditional chants in the North but they are working with a less engaged section of the stadium so it feels like they kind of need to. When I was a kid, the North was the place to be to sing along but it doesn't seem like that's much the case any more.

I admire both groups' dedication nonetheless, though. The best atmospheres we've had are because of them, of that there's no doubt in my mind. If I was to want to get my vocal chords going more often, I'd be up with the Twe12th Man lot personally but the South became very popular because of the atmosphere under Wilder.

I do get the impression that RF are more concerned about being an 'ultra' group than anything else, which is fair enough really they've never claimed to be there to create an atmosphere. They do very much sing their own songs, do their own displays about themselves and even wear their own merch. I noticed they left the fans group too

  13. Anyone else think our atmosphere at the riverside this season has been particularly flat? It's a strange one as the football is entertaining but it just doesn't seem the same as it has been the last few years

Quite a list of significant injuries for a side like ours too.

At our best, Forss and McGree offer clear-cut positives in goals, assists and other positive actions and alternatives to what we have on the pitch.

Add Smith, Lenihan and O'Brien into that mix, it's not easy. But we're doing okay considering. Not great, not terrible. Just okay.

Yeah agreed, it's not a major moan we are just quality wise maybe average and marginally above with everyone fit

I don't want to be mean to the lad, but Glover looks like an outfield player put in goal due to injuries. Whatever attributes he has, they've  been misplaced amid a collapse in confidence. Hope he gets it back, because I'm sure he's better than tonight's performance suggested.

What did you think he did wrong last night from a goalkeeping side of things? I didnt think he had much chance with either goal and wasnt threatened otherwise

I don't think it was used as a stick to beat him with merely to point out that we had in fact failed to achieve it.

I thought that it was to be honest, it was almost like because he had an ambition and showed a bit of passion we had to achieve it

I think it's a big part of why we don't hear much from him or the club now
