  1. I'd quite happily take a draw now, it keeps them down, keeps the unbeaten run going and keeps things very interesting in the promotion race.
  2. Thought I'd be helpful and get the match thread started with the disappearance of Smogdane. On Monday night at 8pm, Middlesbrough face Leeds United in a YORKSHIRE DERBY, it's a match that's of vital importance in the promotion race. Leeds are 3rd in the Championship, and a point off the automatic promotion spots, they've only won 1 of their last 5 games and are fortunate that the two teams above them keep slipping up too. We'll find out tomorrow whether Middlesbrough are finally mathematically out of the play-off hunt, if West Brom draw and Norwich win, it's done. Luke Ayli
  3. No matchday thread so I'll shot it here. Sounds like we are interested in signing Ayling permanently. There are contract discussions underway with a number of players. McNair is back in training, apparently Lenihan isn't close.
  4. You'll still be able to access the streams via a VPN, if you're not wanting to go full piracy with a dodgy stick. I watch all the Saturday 3pm matches on the club website using Opera Browser. Feels a bit better contributing to the club's finances, even if it's technically not allowed.
  5. I could be wrong, but I think the second yellow was so soft that the referee knew exactly what he was doing when he did it. No chance he'd have given a yellow card for such a minor incident if he'd thought it was leading to a red card.
  6. Yeah, I get that. Like last night, Real Madrid were played off the park by Man City but have scraped through to a major semi-final because City couldn't finish and they've scrapped away goals. Tonight, Aston Villa were lucky to beat Lille on penalties, who were much the better team on the night.
  7. I've no doubt they've got absolutely zero interest in protection the competition, or the lower leagues, but I've always hated replays so it doesn't bother me particularly. I know I'm an outlier with that, but I've never liked the financial argument as it always seem to be about keeping clubs afloat when they wouldn't be able to without it, which I don't think is healthy, and it certainly doesn't help smaller clubs in a sporting sense. I'm more annoyed about the FA Cup final continuing to be played before the end of the league season, that's really diminishing it.
  8. In the last 10 seasons, and I'll exclude goalkeepers, these are the players we've signed from League One: Matt Crooks (after relegation) Uche Ikpeazu (after relegation) Sam Morsy (after relegation) Duncan Watmore Anfernee Dijksteel (after promotion) Marc Bola Paddy McNair (after relegation) Marvin Johnson Lee Tomlin (mid-season after relegation) James Husband (after relegation) Albert Adomah (after relegation) It's not a big list of players at all, and almost all of them, bar Husband and Ikpeazu, were decent signings. You
  9. Che Adams was signed from League One by Birmingham, after being signed from non-League by Sheffield United. Josh Brownhill started his career at a League One club and was signed by Bristol City on the back of a League One loan.
  10. The vote for Boro's goal of the season. I've gone for McGree's against Birmingham, even though I think Forss' against Sunderland was the best finish. I prefer a cleaner build up. I expect Greenwood's free kick will win though.
  11. FA Cup replays have been officially scrapped and all rounds will now be played on weekends again.
  12. She was replaced by somebody younger, who was also without any senior managerial experience. She was made interim manager for 2 weeks in pre-season and was never under consideration for the actual job, they were presumably already negotiating with Southampton for David Horseman given the speed of his appointment. Arranging a press conference and giving dozens of other self-promoting media interviews for that spell was odd. It was purely a publicity stunt, one of many from Dale Vince. I had no issue with her being appointed, I think Dale Vince's antics surrounding it were em
  13. I think it'll just be an error on the writer's part, but I'm expecting McNair to move on anyway.
  14. He's actually got 2 years left on his contract anyway, I thought it was only 1. So no rush on that front.
  15. Get Carrick, McGree, Howson and Forss extended, then we're cooking.
  16. Really pleased with that, he's not perfect but he's a key player for us and offers a real threat. It's also a really nice success story for our scouting and for himself from a non-league background.
  17. New 3 year contract for Jones, get in there.
  18. Their owner is an attention seeking knobhead. "I'm going to appoint the first female manager in English men's football, why can't people be more like me?". Had a major press conference announcing her time in charge. Gave dozens of interviews across the media bigging himself and the club up for it. All done for publicity before replacing her 2 weeks later, after she'd managed one friendly, by a Horseman.
  19. The world can breathe a sigh of relief, Forest Green Rovers have been relegated from the English Football League.
  20. Southampton winning their game in hand. That's Preston out of the race and Southampton have snuck back in to the automatic promotion race. They still have Leicester and Leeds to play.
  21. West Brom's spot is definitely up for grabs now too. Just a shame it's not available for us. Hull and Coventry still have a solid chance.
