  1. I'm in the so-so camp at the moment - I think its too early to be genuinely worried, but at the same time need some positive signs (few wins would help) and I think some of our new signings haven't yet come good - but the ones that people moaned about most of last season (McNair, Fletcher) have shown positive signs themselves - so given time to gel and bed in, hopefully some good progress. Be interesting to see how we do against some of the heavy hitters in the league.
  2. Stoked for this - hopefully it can continue the story without diminishing the legacy of one of the best TV shows ever made (IMO)
  3. yep, agree with that - we've definitely been set up in a way that has not been conducive to goals - Britt has got them for us each season he has played but other players contributions have not really added up - Saville was our top scoring non-striker last season with 4 goals - if you look at the top scorers of teams that do well, its usually a prolific striker or two and then lots of other players chipping in with goals and thats what we are missing really. I can see Britt getting 15+, fletcher getting 10ish, McNair got 5 for sunderland in half a season so like to think he can at least match t
  4. Power returns to Netflix tomorrow - 6th & final season, although 50 Cent has said the spinoff will air 48 hours after the show's finale. The first episode has aired already via the mobile app but starts properly tomorrow. Well worth checking out if you haven't watched it, and if you do like it, Amazon Prime has a great show called The Startup with Martin Freeman.
  5. Restaurant, something you knocked up, crap paramo in a bun at the boro ground....whatever. Went to the Buck Inn in Sadberge last night. Mrs got sucked in by their instagram photos. Tried a mozzarella stick parmo as I was going o get them as a starter and decided to kill two birds with one stone. came looking like something a student had made. I know places will take good photos for instagram but plate and presentation of the entire meal was 100% different it was laughable! Wish I took a photo of it now, as I looked it up on Instagram as we left and the presentation was 100%
  6. But most of the cited examples he was probably played as a lone striker in a defensive setup and picking the ball up too deep. Lots of strikers will fluff chances. I just disagree with this line that Britt only scores against poor teams - even when he scores against a team that finishes higher up its caveated that they were in poor form at the time, like that mnatters? Looking at his last few seasons last season he scored goals against Bristol (8th) Hull (13th) West Brom (4th) despite many sub appearances. Season before that Derby(6th) & Millwall (8th). Season before that a
  7. He will get goals if played right. I don't really get the obsession with charting league performance of who he scores against. Scoring goals get you points no matter who they are against. He isn't a lone striker, and shouldn't be played as one. He also had a lot of games last season where he was subbed early or came on as a sub, so that will have impacted his opportunities to score goals.
  8. Great one from Reddit recently; If you were surprise about Jeffrey Epstein committing suicide recently, imagine how he must have felt.
  9. Old thread, but if anyone comes across it.. Kodi is essentially a media player program which was repurposed via add-ons to stream illegal content. IMO it is poor at this, but easy to use for many which is why it got so much attention. When it comes to playing locally stored media from a server or a hard drive, its excellent at creating a library and being a user friendly GUI to access that content. Nowadays with VPNs being needed and other complexities, most people will opt for an IPTV subscription if you want to stream things. Very rare we watch broadcast TV though and its compressed to
  10. Started out on a speccy 48k with Jet set willy and Manic miner etc After that an Amiga 500, Sega Master System & mega Drive. Never really got into the Nintendo side until much later, got an SNES and hammered Mario kart and a few of the Japanese RPG games. PC gamed for ages, had Xbox, Xbox 360, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and how have a PS4 Pro. Will probably get both next-gen consoles. In current gaming I'd say fave games have been Horizon Zero Dawn and RDR2, both epic games and restoring my faith in single player games without the need for online play and loot box shenanigans whic
  11. Finished this last night ? Absolutely top game in my view. I enjoyed Heavy Rain, its predecessor, but felt heavy rain had a lot more pointless tasks to complete. There was still a bit of pointless tasks in Detroit: BH, like washing dishes and picking clothes up, but kept down to a minimum. Storyline was really good, with choices you make meaningfully impacting the final outcome to the tune of there being over 99 variations of the ending apparently - a youtube video with them all in is over 4 hours long. Many characters can die, and your relationship with them based on your choices will i
  12. I miss some of our players performances under Karanka, I don't miss waiting until 88th minute for any subs to come on and that sort of thing.
  13. Thats football though and has been happening for decades at all levels of the game, not really anything new. Pulis probably would have benefitted more from support from the fans right up to the end but doesn't mean fans are going to want to chant his name. Woodgate's local lad credentials got him as far as the job and some fans to trust him, even be encouraged based on pressers. Everything beyond that has to be earned with results and performances. Certainly not advocating booing or anything like that, but people are never just going to have a good jolly sing song and shout the team on
  14. Its a chicken and the egg situation really, the fans aren't going to sit and enjoy poor football without making their displeasure known, and don't think its fair to expect them, but the team needs encouragement to perform. I think if the fans see things happening and players genuinely trying they will get behind the team and push them on. I think its when the fans see stupid mistakes, people getting caught napping and Rudy Gestede being given game time that frustrations boil over.
  15. I think its a little bit of this, but also a little bit of "Season tickets were open for renewal and coming out and saying its JW right up front would have dented those figures". Making it look like we are in the hunt will have had people sound more interested. I feel like if he said right away JW and we are broke, then we'd have had less people signing up, not a huge amount less but still less. Likewise with the exciting loan signings everyone was expecting
  16. But he couldn't remember where he lived so he named a station pointing in that direction? Seems to be as part of Eaglescliffe from Wiki; From the 1940s to the 1990s there was an MOD base situated at Allens West in Eaglescliffe.
  17. Is there no 2FA add-on you can install to the forum? Never really looked into stuff like that but would assume a lot of forum softwares would have those available, worth a thought. Password managers are excellent if people will struggle to remember passwords, they are very secure and available for most phones with browser plugins for desktops and laptops.
  18. Have completed RDR2, top drawer game. Bit of a slow burner as although enjoyable, first few chapters are really slow but there are some amazing moments in the game. if you liked Heavy Rain I think you will like Detroit, I think its better than Heavy Rain, slightly better storyline and less annoying game mechanics. LOT Of different routes you can take through the game too.
  19. Playing through Detroit: Become Human at the minute. I hate QTE game mechanics (push this button, then this button etc) but quite enjoy ones made by Quantic.
  20. No idea to be honest, I think it will come down to how open the other groups are to change. Minute taking and action tracking for stuff like this should be fairly basic stuff though, a basic excel tracker showing actions agreed and who is owning it and confirming its been closed and what the outcome was should not take a significant amount of work - any outstanding actions summarised at start of following meeting to ensure they don't vanish. Ideally there needs to be someone who is well organised and takes on that role of action tracker. As it is, see loads of people clamouring for updat
  21. The challenges in my eyes are having meaningful collection of 1) items to discuss and 2) timely feedback. The way the forum is currently run, the fans are given short notice a meeting will be held and a load of ideas are put forward, and a smattering of these are discussed in the meeting because there is only limited time and multiple groups attend. After the meeting, it often takes a long time for feedback of the meeting to appear - minutes of one that was held 42 days ago have just appeared on FMTTM and an example quoted by a user where a club rep thought an open preseason training game was
  22. Assombalonga would fit it perfectly IMO, subbed /came on as sub a lot, publicly shamed in pressers for missing chances and his wage/cost to the chairman.
  23. Sounds like a good approach. Sick to death of Brexit threads to be honest, they all go the same way and everyone is utterly entrenched in their own viewpoint so its pointless debating it for 250 posts every 2 days. I don't know of many forum discussions on religion, brexit etc where the posters have gone "Actually thats a totally valid point that I had not considered, I will reconsider my views"
