  1. Yes I tend to agree, not to disapointed with Thomas, though he's obviously better player than what we've seen
  2. Good news, maybe to hope keep certain individuals at the club too https://therealefl.co.uk/2024/03/12/middlesbrough-receive-huge-contract-boost/
  3. Just happy that we've puled away from the wrong end of the table, not that we would have been involved in a relegation scrap just the feel good factor would have been long gone & could have spilled over to the summer & next season No i'm happy to see if we can finish as high as possible, maybe 8th place & with the up/down form we've seen all season, the injuries we've suffered throughout & lack of strikers I take that as a plus
  4. When we played Birmingham at the Riverside they were, IIR, the form team & sat in the top 6, fortunately they brought in Rooney & everything turned upside down, another reason for us to stick with Carrick, the grass isnt always greener
  5. 13th March 1909 First time we won on this day as a league club A home win over Sheffield Wednesday at Ayresome Park in a 1st division fixture The mighty Boro winning this fixture 2-1 with goals from John Hall his 15th goal of the season, he then went on to score 30 in 62 games & Samual Cail with his 8th of the season Match attendance 8,000 John Gunter was the Boro manager, taking over from Andy Aitken Andy was our 1st ever player manager, we paid Newcastle £500 for his services, who was so good he went onto win 3 Scotland international caps while at the Boro
  6. Really looking forward to the Blackburn game & again, probably historically, we dont know which Boro turn up Only downer im on nights 😔
  7. Archie Stephens leap 😉 Yes he may have been winded, good player for me
  8. Yes, I thought he would have took him off, can see Silvera starting v Blackburn, ELL has out in a lot of minutes since returning from injury, he took a knock last night, around his lower back too
  9. Yes we were lucky with the sending off, but following the dismissal we were so professional, how many times in the past have we struggled to overcome the one man advantage, against QPR we again rode our luck & good defending, players blocking shots resulting in going ingoaless at HT when in the not to distant past we'd have conceded goals in those situations & in the second half we just took control, last night we won ugly, lets just enjoy & give credit to Boro for turning around our awful run Im over the moon we've taken 9 points from 3 games, including 2 cleansheets on the b
  10. Considering the injuries we've the whole season & thecstriker situation it's amazing we're still in contention at all IMO, Latte Lath has shown what a difference a recognised striker can make, I'm hoping, maybe, been naive, that we looked at signing a striker in January but the prices we were quoted were ridiculous & so along with the war chest available in the summer meant we'll go with who we have & go for it in the summer ready for next season
  11. The area we have to look to in the summer, IMO, a busy & interesting spending summer, with plenty of departures & incoming players
  12. Hope so, he was that impressed when first meeting the clubs representatives, who laid out plans of how they see him featuring for us, that he decided there & then the Boro were the club for him, that this season has gone above his expectations & aslong as we are showing ambition & progression he'll be happy & content, hes got time on his side
  13. I think VDB will be here next season, he'll still look at it as his own development, but then he'll be too good to remain with us, be sad to see him leave but compensated withe the fee we'll receive
  14. Would be more than happy to see him commit to more time here, always liked him
  15. Before the treble of wins we were in a rut, looking down instead of up, struggling to see where our next win was going to come from, now 9 points on the board & two clean sheets in a row to boot, life is so much better when we're winning, even if at times its ugly
  16. He staryed his loan spell very well then his form dropped & he struggled but the last few games he pushed himself back to his pre slump form
  17. Never lost a ball, won his headers, always cleared his lines, yea cracking game for me
  18. VDB just cruises through games, Ayling had a very good game, McNair too, Clarke my MOTM
  19. Agree with that, RVB is going to be some player, hopefully we see bits of that before he leaves for bigger things
  20. Isnt Howson old school Shirt outside his shorts, black boots & taking corners with the ball bang in the middle of the area, no trying to pinch any inches
