  1. Really surprised that we haven't been linked with another left back. I'm all for Friend starting the season as number one but still think he could do with some serious competition to push him to the next level. Couldn't see Husband challenging if he didn't do it in the Championship and I'm sure I read somewhere that he is going to be out for around 3 months? Risky.
  2. Good to see the club being smarter when coming to deals these days. Think Gibbo had his hands burnt by signing the likes of Digard and Thomson in the past, paying out big money for little return. If Subotic isn't fit or has long standing injury problems then the club are right to pull out of any deal that won't benefit them. Have a feeling it may not be completely dead but the finances may need to change. In any case, I'm sure the club have other targets in mind.

Main aim this season is to add Rotherham, MK Dons and Leeds to the list (refused to pay £35+ for a ticket at Leeds but suppose I'll get it out of the way this year)

Its moved to Manchester I think I've been to the one in Manchester, dunno if it was previously the one in Preston, but certainly a worth a visit. Might try and go again when I'm in Manchester next Wednesday before the Oldham game

Got my tickets for Preston today and it got me thinking that this will be my 3rd visit to Deepdale. For some reason I just enjoy going there, nice ground and haven't seen Boro get beat there yet! (Hoping that'll continue on Sunday!) Has anyone else been to stadiums multiple times? If so, why? I've also done Donny, Burnley (with its tin shed stand) and Derby twice. Also found this decent website where you can keep track of the stadiums you have visited, Oldham will be my 30th, which I don't think is too bad considering my first away game was in 2009. http://www.footballgroundmap.com/
  6. Hi all, long time lurker and member, thought I'd get involved again! :P Got to remember that Tomlin is seemingly surplus to requirements at Boro and we can hardly demand a high fee. Had Bournemouth approached us and Tomlin was a part of our plans we could drive the price up, but this seems as if we have invited a bid from Bournemouth and mutually agreed a fee. Rather than 'make us an offer we can't refuse' it's 'what are you willing to pay?' Considering we signed him £1.5m and we no longer see him as important member of the squad, to potentially double our money seems like good business.
  7. Blackburn away this season. Was a great performance, totally dominated, and then typical Boro kicked in and we hung on in the end. Plus a fantastic header from Lukey Jukey. I also went to that Preston match, was my first ever away game, Adam Johnson scored a worldy, should've really won the match, was fuming with the late equaliser! Also went the next season to Preston, but without tickets. When we got there, we were just about to buy our tickets, when this guy asks us if we are Boro fans. Turns out he was the coach driver or something, and the players had given him player tickets to give t

    Positives?

Basically, what positives can we take out of this season? I'm struggling to think of some! The only one I think of is that the academy seems to be in good shape, which should lead to a bright future. Personally I think this season has petered out into a season of transition, we've seen Boro at their best, and Boro at their worst. Had the results been mixed up abit during the season, would we all feel negative or just see it as a work in progress? Has Mowbray taken us far as he can, or is it unfair to say this is his definitive team? Last questions: Favourite and worst moment of the seas
  9. This will all show in the emphasis on youth in the next few seasons. Though we haven't seen much of Main, Williams and Reach this season, I fear it will soon be forced on us. Just hope the youngsters can live up to the pressures and expectations put on them by the fans.
  10. We've already got our own slide, just look at the Championship table... :(
  11. 19 points, so we'll end on 70. Won't be enough. We need at least 2 points a game, just can't see it happening :(
  12. We got beat 3-1 at Burnley in 2011, played behind McDonald, hit the bar with a long ranger which resulted in Taylor scoring, but was pretty ineffective.
  13. Agree AR, but maybe he needs to be rested a bit more, or not used a much untill he's back to 100% Prowler, it's not just one game, I've seen him multiple times played in Midfield, once on the wing, even as a CAM behind the striker. But the guy just isn't that good and doesn't have the vision to play there. We all wanted him to be this cultured, silky midfielder, who sprays passes around and chips in with goals, just doesn't do it. But he is a very talented CB, just feel that we have better options in midfield than Williams.
  14. Don't get me wrong, fantastic result tonight, but it also confirmed to me that Williams is 100% a CB and if anyone thinks his best position in CM, you obviously wern't at the game! Gave the ball away far too many times, and is far to casual, looked lost most of the night, and worst of all failed engage in the match/look for the ball. Kudos though for the slide tackle which he then passed to Miller to set up the goal!
  15. I agree, if he had only been eligible for England he would not have got a call up IMO, but maybe we should start looking at players from the Championship, surely there's a few players that could make a step up if only given the chance?
