Very happy to see Crooks get a new contract. As a squad player he is invaluable. Added bonus of if we go up, or he wants more game time, then we get a fee for him next summer rather than losing him for free. Looking at his figures since joining, we’d surely be looking at recouping a good chunk of what we paid for the lad.

This seasons kit/training kit seems to have been removed from the Club shop website; it is still being advertised at 50% off on the front page but the link goes nowhere. Lines up with the info earlier of a Thursday release - could even be today.

Boro contracts up for discussion Judging by the article above posted on the offy, I’d expect one or both of George and Marvin to be offered new contracts on reduced terms as squad players. If they weren’t going to be then it would have been an opportunity to announce their departure as they have with Clayton and the others that have left. It’s quite unlike us to push a story out like that before

The whole strategic direction of the club has changed and although it may be easier said than done, I think we need to have a bit of patience with our new reality and way of doing business. It’ll probably take at least the next two windows for us to see sizeable changes in the squad and unfortunately that’s the price we are going to have to pay for a series of decisions that haven’t worked out. Decisions that seemed to be made without a clear strategy or identity and with only promotion in mind. Of course I’d have liked to see another pacey attacking player added today, but overall I
