Got a feeling we’ll see Balogun and Coburn starting up front. I’d love to see it happen!

Got a good feeling we’ll win this one. Balogun with three, Sporar one, and Lumley will get an England call up for his recent uplift in form. Might be a bit overly confident…

WIMPY MILLWALL LIONS v THE MIGHTY LION OF THE MIGHTY BORO
Saturday 12th March 2022
Kick off: 15:00
Location: The Den
Preface:
Here’s a moment I had optimistically hoped wouldn’t arrive. The longer I stayed away from the role as MDT author, the better the Boro were doing. Alas, here we are, and here I am, bringing you the match day thread for our trip to The Den, the home of former £7m purchase goal scoring(?!) midfielder, George Saville (oft in the wind I here echoes that we also tried to sign Jed Wallace as part of the same deal…)
The more observant of you will notice that the Millwall badge i've chosen in the header, is from the late 90's early 00's which was a rehash of the 60's and 70's badge. The lions look weak and like they're playing a playground hand slapping game. Our fierce looking badge lion could take them two down, no probs. We'll beat them on the pitch too.
How did it come to this?
Tuesday evening saw the disaster of a performance that became a 4-1 defeat to a team largely built by our current manager. Arguably, a best 11 from both teams would be Blades heavy. Though based on that performance it would be an exclusively Sheffield United team. A divisive player may he be, but Joe Lumley was my man of the match in a game that saw four goals conceded that weren't his fault. That Gibbs-White finish for the fourth goal can only be applauded. I must admit, I'm in the Joe Lumley fan club. I find his playing style nothing short of completely entertaining. If he managed to pull off more of the outrageous things he's tried, he'd be one of the best keepers in the world, definitely in the top 1000 anyway...
The replacements in the starting 11 from the team that started the Luton game certainly made a difference. Peltier looked like he'd never met the team before or even attended a training session. Sporar had chance to change the game at 2-0, but shot like striker low on confidence and then went into stealth mode again and wasn't even seen leaving the pitch when substituted for the lively looking Balogun on 60 minutes. Capitalising on a mistake by a dodgy keeper (they are everywhere!), Balogun slotted home from a tight angle for what wasn't the start of a great come back. He might yet start to score goals for this team, one of the four "headliners" needs too. Josh Coburn missed a glorious header in the dying minutes, but at least he was in the right place. Does more game time for him mean he'd put chances like that away? I personally like him as an option from the bench for the time being, fresh legs with an eagerness to do well.
The Opposition:
The Millwall Lions play their home games at the Den, rumoured to be built upon the site of the zoo that housed the lions belonging to the Roman Emperor Hadrian while he was in the UK building a wall to keep the Mexicans out of Northumberland some time before the war. They moved to the Den in 1993 having had 5 previous grounds.
The come into this game at the start of a catastrophic drop in form. Having won five games in a row, scoring eight and conceding two in the process, they played out a disastrous 0-0 with Blackburn Rovers, a team below us in the form table! Losers.
Some interesting things said by their fans about their team, football in general and how nobody likes them can by found by clicking >this link<
Will we ever win away from home again?
This Boro team is without doubt my favourite for many years. Not since the Karanka era have I genuinely felt like we could beat anyone, and not since the Robson era has it been this exciting. I firmly believe that Chris Wilder will get us back to the Premier League. If not this season, then definitely next. We've got exciting players all over the pitch and whilst we're not quite the finished article, we are, with not a vastly different group of players, vastly improved from the Warnock era.
We will start winning away from home, and what better time to start than against Millwall on Saturday. We'll need to start winning away from the Riverside if we're going to break our Wembley hoodoo! Our form away from home as seen us win only two of the last ten, drawing one and losing seven. We've conceded 18 and scored 13, keeping one clean sheet along the way. Milwall's home form reads slightly concerning. In the past ten games they've won six, drawn three and lost only one. They've scored 13 and conceded 5, keeping 5 clean sheets. We're going to win this one aren't we!
Talking Points:
What would be your starting 11?
Will Sporar regain his confidence and finish the season on 15 goals?
Who else did we nearly sign when we signed Saville from Millwall?
How many will we win by?

What about completing rounds where 50% of fixtures are played? When there’s less then, reschedule the round for whenever they happen.
if that’s too much work, keep going with the rounds regardless of cancelled fixtures. Would do wonders for some of our “goals against” columns!
Ultimately, I’ll 100% go with whatever @Youngy228 decides as I feel like he is god of the Predictions league until he decides not to be. For all the work it entails, I am truly grateful and will go with whatever works for him.
