  1. I think how much people rate Bamford is quite bizarre also. It certainly isn't a hands down decision between Britt and Bamford. In fact between the 2 their goalscoring records in the championship are remarkably similar. Bamford has 55 in 147 where Britt has 65 from 169, meaning Britts is marginally better. However, I know people are going to say for at least 15-20 of those games Bamford didn't play as a striker but Assombalonga played more under Pulis which is even more of a disadvantage. On a side note, I know Pulis and a number of his staff really didn't see eye to eye with Assombalonga but I can't blame Britt for being a bit annoyed at the tactics being employed which didn't suit his or most strikers games. I personally think Britt is a better goalscorer than Bamford but Bamford is a more intelligent player. Britt misses more than Bamford granted but he puts himself in those situations to score/miss a lot more than Bamford does also. Anyhow sorry for sidetracking the thread further I just think the tunnel vision related to Bamford at times is barmy!
  2. Exactly what my goal would be is baffling as is your persistence to accuse. As a construction manager, I view statistics as a measure of progress and a forecast to completion. At any project start up risks are much higher at the beginning and taper as the project progresses, which is much the same here with BORO. We have set periodic targets that must be met if we are achieve our goal. Not difficult is it. After the failure of last, I’m enjoying this season and expect us to do well, but we have issues still to be resolved and I doubt we will storm the league. Oh and I’ll stand by what I said at the beginning of the season about the first four to six games. I don't really know what this rambling garbage was meant to say rich. Brunners you really are a *** aren't you. I'm guessing your life must be unhappy and lonely for you to persistently try and belittle others on here. 100% untrue. I agree with plenty of people on here - I'm just not scared to call bull*** when I see it and Sanddancer is walking, talking bull***. Literally every single one of his posts is some 'the world is ending' style post about the Boro and their season being over based on literally nothing but his own defeatist attitude. He was mouthing off after 1 game as if the sky was falling. I totally get calling the team *** when they are - I've called us *** a few times this season; but in context of one game, or one half. Sanddancer will see us play *** and then it's WE'RE TERRIBLE THERE'S NOTHING TO PLAY FOR LETS ACCEPT RELEGATION NOW IN SEPTEMBER. And if you try and question why he thinks that way (as myself and others have in the past) he immediately gets defensive and never really gives you an acceptable reason as to why. I don't belittle others, I don't even belittle Sanddancer, I just call it as I see it, and as I see it is the guy is a WUM of the highest order. If he's not then he really needs to *** chill out a little. I also find it pretty ridiculous that CT was chased off the forum for making reasoned well thought out posts that disagreed with people, and yet it's uncool to call out Sanddancer? The hypocrisy on here is maddening at times. Also, I find it VERY ironic that you jump straight to the personal insults. And if you want to know, I do have diagnosed depression and have attempted suicide, including recently. But I have a great job and a loving family and am dating a nice girl - so thank you for your concern <3 :) Well I am glad the irony wasn't wasted on you Brunners. However, I will apologise for going in at the deep end as it's not something I'd usually do. However, reading your posts for a number of years I have a feeling a post from some random on this forum isn't likely to effect you in any way and the apology is probably wasted, yet I feel it necessary. I do stand by my point though that your posts are often confrontational or patronising to people who don't share your views and that's how I should have worded my initial post rather than acting like a *** myself! I think sanddancer seems to be an extremist but I don't actually believe he is a WUM and sometimes I just think infrequent posters or newer posters get a bit more stick when posting. However, again apologies for being a knob I think I'll stick to lurking and reading posts.
  3. sanddancer reading your early season comments, i actually thought you were taking the mick out of bedwetters, until i realised you were serious. i was convinced you were a trolling mackem and demanded you should be banned :P i'd hate sitting next to you at a match :D I'm still not convinced he isn't, he's still just as negative, only now he's developed an "i'm a victim" complex too. Exactly what my goal would be is baffling as is your persistence to accuse. As a construction manager, I view statistics as a measure of progress and a forecast to completion. 4. A lot of Derby fans seem to disagree. I wouldn't worry too much about what that lot think they slated Christie, and so far so good watching him at RB. His crossing on Saturday was better than we have had from any fullback for a very long time, to be honest it's better than we have had from any winger from a long time. Lets hope he keeps it up. I've quite liked Shotton when I've seen him quite a quick agile defender, rather have him than Terry or Samba!
  5. Fair point but I'd respond saying people way more qualified than us have also forced us to be clambering for any old player. I very much doubt Tom Ince was on any list associated with players we actually feel would improve us as much as we need to be improved. Ignore my comment, I don't want Ince either, was just getting at Will for being a massive hypocrite hence the smileys. I do wonder though how there can be so much positive for Brady and then so much hate for Ince even though Ince's record this season is waaaay better. He's not a hypocrite. Using that argument to justify bringing in Jese Rodriguez is a little different to justifying bringing in Tom Ince. Eh? who was talking about Jese? You obviously have no idea what I was talking about. Wouldn't worry about it too much Dan, Brunners is just massively up Will's ***
  6. Can somebody ban KM until the window is closed, I can't deal with reading his multi-personality disorder posts on a day like today!
  7. Strange how everybody here is frustrated with lack of signings but as soon as Aitor shows his frustration he is chastised. At least it shows he still wants players in, would you rather him just say oh no I'm really happy with everything. No you wouldn't if he said that you'd call him deluded and say 'can't believe he thinks the squad is good enough' I started reading this forum after the old 606 closed and it was a great forum. Prowlers odd wind ups aside :-p but now it seems it's just a place for whingey know it alls.
  8. Good news that West Ham have apparently pulled out of the race to sign Snodgrass, got to think if he'd have preferred a move here over West Ham the same must be said if it was between Boro and Burnley.
  9. We would rather loan out Downing as it is likely both his potential replacements would only be on loan to us. It's good news if Downing goes though as when he does if there is no news on Jese then we are putting in a loan offer for Delofeou
  10. We get a quality player that is a different option to anything we have attacking wise right now?
  11. Think Fabio is a good signing and will provide decent competition for George. Be absolutely chuffed with Pereira though, has looked one of the best players on the park every time he has stepped on the pitch for United. Does not look out of place with their most senior players. Confused as to why he has never got in the team. Pre-season last year he was a class act.
  12. 'Da silva' would be great competition for Friend if we sign him, cracking left back, not as bad defensively as people are suggesting. Outshone by United by his brother but I believe that was only because Rafa had a free shot at the RB position where Fabio would have had to oust Evra to get into the team, that was never going to happen.
  13. Not sure but Valencia fans dont seem to have much good to say about him We should go for someone like Trippier from Spurs. Looked very good the few times he played for them but looks to be miles off ever getting a starting place for them. Yedlin worth considering too. Just someone with prem experience I wouldn't worry too much on what Valencia fans say about any of their players they're essentially the Newcastle fans of la liga so fickle and having a terrible season hasn't helped their opinions of any of their players. Doubt we would get trippier didn't Spurs only sign him last summer for a decent fee, they never lose money on there players they'd rather let them rot. Think he was only around 3 million. Has huge potential still and surely at his age needs game time which he isnt getting at Spurs Really might be worth a go then I thought it was weird when Spurs signed him to be honest they seem to love buying full backs!
