  1. We want volunteers, not hostages.
  2. Pretty sure it's not his thinking from the interviews he's done over the last few months, seems like he got exactly what he wanted.
  3. So they have to be brilliant all the time to be able to say that the coaching staff can demonstrably improve players? lol
  4. (b) and (c) seem quite contradictory to me. We've just bought a player in the summer who only Championship clubs were interested in for £1m and within 6 months turned him into a player that a top 6 Premier League team decided was worth up to £16m. Did the coaching team not improve him?
  5. No I can't, but that defence works for any footballer making any mistake ever. Glover was completely at fault for the goal, that was the sole point of post. He's been largely serviceable.
  6. Or our goalkeeper could do the job he's paid to do and save an easy speculative shot.
  7. Part of the model also applies to managers, it is also Scott's job to have tabs on who the next manager will be and how they will fit with our squad rather than having to tear it down and build it again like we have in the past with Monk to Pulis to Woodgate to Warnock. Scott got Carrick, to an extent we have to trust him to find the next one if and when Carrick decides to leave.
  8. We gave him a go, he was a bellend.
  9. What an excellent suggestion 😂😂
  10. Would be class for us to get sanctioned by FIFA for not releasing a player for international competition 🙄
  11. Can I suggest that Lenihan is being targetted more by opposition teams precisely because he is poor at winning aerial duels?
  12. Unfortunately no. The procedure he had (Ablation) essentially kills a small amount of the muscle cells in the Atrium of the heart to try and disrupt the arrythmia (the electrical signals in your heart can't pass through scar tissue), because they obviously don't want to kill all of the cells it's done on small highly specific points. I'd imagine it is more successful second time round but haven't seen a figure on that.
  13. The surgery he had is successful roughly 75% of the time, meaning it is quite common to require a further surgery to get it right.
  14. Very strange, I replied to you and came back to see if the conversation had gone any further and the entire thing had gone 😂
  15. @Humptyam I going insane or did you make a post agreeing with CT on defensive shape that has completely disappeared?
  16. Can I just say that using a green arrow on a green football pitch may be the most evil thing you have ever done. That or I'm just now realising I'm colour blind.
  17. Sure, but DZ was talking about pyrotechnics being banned in all UK football stadiums and implying that smoke bombs were outside of that. Smoke bombs are pyrotechnics and are equally as illegal to set off in a football stadium as a flare.
  18. Smoke bombs are pyrotechnics...
  19. Steffen didn't ever really lose us points, but I can't recall ever thinking he won us points like we had with Randolph a few years ago. Dieng is much more in the Randolph mold where he makes saves you'd never expect him to make.
  20. This kind of *** is why I had no issue when Spence gave a bit back. Absolutely no need for him to be negative about Chuba here but his natural c*ntishness shines through as usual. Cretin. Edit: Apparently c*ntishness made it around the swear filter 😂
  21. Needs to vary his type of cross a bit more but overall that is very promising. One of Giles' biggest strengths was his selection of how he was going to cross the ball based on the situation in front of him, quite a few times in those highlights a more floated or whipped in cross would've been a lot more threatening but Engel hit it along the floor (which from that clip seems to be his preferred cross). Hopefully Carrick and Co can get a bit more variety into his game.
