  1. Surridge cost Forest £2.2 million in January, reckon he'd be available for £5 million - we know we have the money it's how highly do we rate him.
  2. West Brom journos/fans seem convinced they're in for Surridge. Would feel nice personally to finally get a target ahead of Steve Bruce let's hope we're in for him.
  3. Not when we have Chris Wilder as a manager with the aim of promotion Under Woodgate the majority of fans stuck through some horrendous results and god bless them for it but the aims/expectations were very different.
  4. Most gutting thing is Wilder said a three weeks ago that it would be a tricky period while the club worked on bringing in the signings needed and the fans would have to stomach it and stick with the boys but by September the squad would be where it needed to be. We went into the season underequipped and lost to QPR, Barnsley and Reading under the presumption the players in those games would be replaced by better. Really concerning if we end today with the same squad that we started it with.
  5. Wilder 48 hours ago: "we HAVE to add 2 or 3 more." I don't think we were 'done' this morning or are 'done' to be fair I think they've been trying but that's our club motto for Middlesbrough FC - 'we tried'.
  6. Going to be a tricky spin for the EG tomorrow to say it's been a perfect summer all we missed out on was that 20 goal striker the manager has said we needed for the past 4 months. Glad we've brought in all those premium loans for chunky fees and wages though they should be able to get us into the top 12.
  7. Boro: 10 signings so far, it's been a brilliant summer. Me, an idiot: So we have a #10 and #11 amongst that bunch who is clearly trusted to be in the starting XI? Boro: No but not to worry we'll fill them in January... Backdrop to all of this is the worst league start in 40 years and we have a really weak group mentality where we're shipping goals and missing chances left right and centre.
  8. I'll say on the whole this window has once again shown how brilliant our 'patient' transfer strategy has been. Went into the first game of the season underprepared with Watmore and Coburn as our strikers all to end up with the payoff of getting the 'right players' at the 'right price' through the door come 11pm tonight.
  9. One to watch in the next few hours might be Ajorque to Forest which would free up Surridge.
  10. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.futboltotal.com.mx/futbol-mexicano/liga-mx/cruz-azul-uriel-antuna-puede-ir-a-laliga-de-espana/2022/09/amp One to file away in the pile of players we looked at, reportedly this summer we made enquiries about Uriel Antuna along with Napoli and AZ Alkmaar.
  11. Looking forward to tomorrow's Gazette story that Boro will turn to the free agent market to fill the gaps that are left...
  12. Onomah's more box to box than a holding midfielder though, I'd welcome the reinforcement and Onomah is quality when fit.
  13. Not ideal that we seem to be waiting on the results of a scan on Norgaard which may allow us to sign Onyeka... What if the scan result isn't communicated to us until late evening? Good move for Coburn hopefully he breaks into their team early and stays in it.
  14. To be fair CWs oversaw the worst league start in 40 years and since the turn of this year our league record has been terrible, I think most of us are giving him quite a bit of leeway but christ you'd be in cuckoo land to think he isn't under serious pressure at the minute. When you compare the squad/team he has at his disposal to Mowbrays or even Woodgates I don't think squad depth or quality is a acceptable excuse for it either.
  15. If the window shuts tomorrow and we get no one additional in, big if etc etc, what do we do with the #10 and #11 shirts? Can't see obvious takers but it would look daft to keep first team numbers vacant...
  16. Ignore the Hoppe/Forss fees we saved £3 million switching from what we bid for Greaves to Clarke. The money was there for us to pay the 12 million euros up front that they wanted and Celta have paid but as reiterated in the EG Boro did not value Larsen above 10 million euros it really does look to be that simple. As we sit here 24 hours before the window closes with vacant no.10/11 shirts it all looks a bit daft, we do need a good striker and we need a holding midfielder - if we don't get them we're in for a comfy 10-12th placed finish with our expensive range of PL loan players.
  17. To be fair to the club/recruitment team obviously they've put Muniz to Wilder but that lad looked an absolute tank tonight, pair him with the right partner and he'll be brilliant for us I reckon. I don't get wtf is going on with us at the minute, the players we have spent actual money on are 'projects' and are warming the bench behind McGree and Duncan Watmore who are preferred ahead of them.
  18. Any idea what Forss coming on for 20 seconds was about? Is there a message in there that I'm missing? Absolutely mental to do that change so close to the end of the game, getting into Woodgate level 🤡 show territory decision making...
  19. What the **** is going on, we sign strikers then switch to 1 up front. Our defence is leaking some of the daftest goals I've seen and our midfield are passengers unable to impact the game.
  20. Forss coming on for... 20 seconds absolutely incredible banter from Wilder that.
  21. That's a few times Clarke's been caught ball watching, something for him to work on...
  22. I still think we should go with two strikers, McGree is not good enough offensively to justify taking a striker out of the team for him.
