  1. Wonder if we'll put in a loan bid for Sepp Van Den Berg
  2. Guy the Gazette have talked to about VDB, part of the Zwolle UK supporters club. https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/middlesbrough-rav-berg-john-stones-27263971
  3. This quote about Van Den Berg bodes well, maybe we could see him as defensive midfielder. “He is predominantly a centre-back," Matt says. "He has played right-back a few times, but also the manager who has just departed had a little spell playing him in front of the back four. I liked him in that role. He looked so mature beyond his years, shepherding the back four and protecting them quite well. He would basically fill in that role whenever the regular in that position was out. He was a calming influence there. I probably prefer him as a centre-back, but I do think in time, if he w
  4. I know im whinging a bit but I really don't feel great about this so far. I do like the new model in buying for the future etc and bulking the squad up, but again like almost every link so far. This isn't even a good enough replacement right now let alone to strenghthen the team.
  5. It just makes no sense, we're apparently going for autos and then bring in a keeper for no.1 that even his team's own fans / A-League watchers, dont rate.
  6. Replacing Steffen with the Australian Joe Lumley, nice.
  7. At the risk of being a downer... The players we're being linked with aren't the standard we are trying to replace from last season imo, at this rate, the team will be weaker than it was.
  8. Because us and Sunderland finished practically the same and he clearly has an affinity towards them + he'd fit straight back in and not have to bed in to a brand new team/teammates.
  9. Woodgate manager, Cattermole assistant is coming isn't it?
  10. Don't think i've ever seen a manager come in without any sort of team, except maybe Southgate??
  11. No its not snakey to take a job at a higher level. Maybe actually read how we went about it though. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12610586/forest-green-confirm-departure-of-head-coach-rob-edwards-amid-watford-negotiations
  12. Think it's pretty reasonable that people don't want him as manager, I really dont either. The guy shouldn't be linked with us, he limped through the 2nd half of the season in league 2 after a great start and then showed himself to be a bit of a snake the first chance he got. He's also underperformed this season with one of the best squads in the league.
  13. No way in hell, his time was 15+ years ago, its 2022 now.
  14. Exactly - the damage in the meantime might come back to haunt us.
  15. Its a bit worrying this might not get sorted until next month once their takeover is finalised. Will be a toxic atmosphere until then while we wait in limbo. If then Bournemouth decide to go with someone else, we're left in that state for who knows how long.
  16. And his achivements at Northampton and Oxford before that?
  17. If it comes down to it then maybe Reiziger, Carrick, Schumacher, Paolo Vanoli or Dejan Stankovic (might be a bit too ambitious) Also not Gibsons usual MO but maybe we could tempt Ryan Lowe from Preston.
  18. Grillitsch is a level above, I dont think there's any way he drops to the championship. He was in talks with AC Milan etc. His wages would make it a non starter to start I imagine.
  19. Would 100% be one of the best midfielders in the divison imo, atleast defensively.
