Tommy Conway
Looking back at our attack during the Warnock into Wilder era. Conway is no better than Duncan Watmore. Sporar is better than Strelec. Onel Hernandez is better if at least very similar to Sarmiento. IMO we’ve massively over achieved this season and it’s shown over the last month. Our attack unfortunately is not good enough. Hopefully this is rectified as the stats under Hellberg have been phenomenal.

Boro v Portsmouth 0-1
This is all self inflicted. The amount of money we’ve brought in from players over the last few seasons. Not re-invested in the club. Unambiguously muddling through. Sham, best chance I a decade in a really really poor championship year. Joke

Swansea City V Boro 2-2 (Bangura, Conway pen)
feel like now the pressure has been loosened slightly. We aren’t being chased by both Ipswich and willwall. We are now somewhat outsiders. That may benefit us? Less pressure on the players and we may be more clinical. Wishful thinking

Boro v Millwall 1-2 (Fry)
Imo. We were at our best when Hellberg had passed his influence onto the players and we retained a little bit of Rob Edwards approach towards games. He did say when he came in, we just need to alter how we do things slightly, not completely overhaul how we play. I don’t think we have the players or squad depth to play how Hellberg wants to play…. And that he’s definitely shown in the last month. Whatever happens next season, we need players who are A) mobile and fast. We lack natural wingers B) Can play out from the back under pressure.

Due to be at a wedding the Friday and Saturday of the Ipswich game weekend. Buzzing if it’s the Sunday 👍🏻

Middlesbrough v Bristol City 1-1 (Castledine)
Every Boro fan knew we needed to strengthen up front. Again, same as last season with a centre back it’s glaringly obvious we needed reinforcements. Club going cheap again. Joke for the most expensive season tickets in the division. Destined to just be a mediocre championship team for years. The opportunity is there for us. Bed chance in decades.

Promotion Rivals
Keep the faith. Just looking back at 15-16 season. We had a torrid end of February and early march. We’ve drawn two against teams who defended great any are fighting to stay up. Lost against cov in a game where there wasn’t much in it. Fans saying “we’ve blown it”. Give it a rest

Armstrong could be the difference between promotion or not. But really don’t think we’d spend more than 7/8 million.

I think Scott’s biggest failure in recent seasons has been his inability to build a ‘squad’. We’ve been left short in previous seasons in certain positions and lacked experience. This season we’ve improved massively in that regard. Experienced in Jones, Brittain and Browne has been crucial imo. We also have depth. An experienced striker would make sense based on our previous summer window.

Think of it like this. A chance falls to your striker in a tight, edgy game towards the end of the season. Who would you rather it fall to. Archer or Armstrong.

Surely we’ve agreed a deal for a striker behind the scenes if we are letting Burgzorg go. Sene and Strelec haven’t proven much this season. If Conway gets injured, releasing Burgzorg would be mental if we haven’t got something agreed

Poor goal scoring record, a low lights reel on YouTube. Hope this ain’t true! 😂 Looks like a mixture or Burgzorg and Gestede

If we get promoted and he starts until the end of the season. He will no doubt have contributed to us going up, £5 million with add ons seem right.

People turning their noses up at archer need to give their heads a shake. Exactly the type of player we go for usually and need. Championship experience and reliable goalscorer at this level, out of favour and struggled in two very very poor prem seasons. Can get him for cheaper than expected I’d imagine and still has a high ceiling imo at a decent age.
