Last night highlighted just how weak we are on the right, we have no threat whatsoever. Towards the end of the season, teams learned that if they stopped the space in the middle for Akpom, Archer and McGree we really didn’t have anything else. Giles puts great balls in, but it’s too easy to mark Archer out of the game. I hope we move Jones on. All that pace is wasted as he has no ability to cross the ball and attacks break down. Spurs might. I hate to even type it in case it happens, but Carrick would be a great fit there. Not only because of his history with Spurs, but it’s a very similar situation to when he arrived here, getting away from a turgid 5-3-2 and allowing the players to express themselves and enjoy it. Hopefully Daniel Levy doesn’t realise any of this and keeps hiring washed-up and burnt-out managers still living off their previous glories. Having said that, I don’t think this is likely and I don’t think there’s any chance he’ll move before the end of the season.

Haven’t enjoyed watching Boro this much since, well maybe ever. Solid and great to watch. Players growing every week. What a team. Let’s hope Sheff Utd slip up, but even if we miss out on 2nd, with this team I think we’ll boss the play-offs and make some great Wembley memories at last. And in the play-off final, Carrick won’t park the bus, but he will get it there on time…

I also thought Hackney improved the midfield. Whether running with the ball or passing, he was always trying to get the ball forward quickly, rather than sideways or backwards slowly. I would like to see him get a run in the team so he can keep improving. I think he has a higher ceiling than the rest of the plodders we have.

I think we'll see Leo go for a Karanka style 4-2-3-1. We don't really have the players for it, but who cares. At least tonight is going to be way more fun than watching Wilderball.

I think the way we’re setup helps create the errors we’ve seen all season. The opposition are happy for our back 3 to have the ball and play it sideways/backwards. There’s no forward options for them to play to (because we play one striker and they double up on our wing backs) and then we get easily pressed off the ball. The lack of mobility also leaves huge gaps through the middle of midfield and down the channels and our slow midfield and defenders are getting exposed. Were his comments so bad that the club has taken the video down… I think his number is up. On going tensions behind the scenes. He didn’t even look at Fry as he came off. He’s stubbornly sticking to tactics that clearly don’t work and not astute enough to make changes. Shame Mogga just committed elsewhere as I think he would get a lot more out of this group of players overnight.

We’re so light in midfield - remember when we were stockpiling centre mids under Pulis? Where did they all go 😂 It’s now feeling more like another ‘transition season’ given the lack of investment in this area. Feels like such a waste, I really think one more player could have made all the difference. Still, only 19 matches until we can buy or loan someone in January…

I think Griis lightening or Larsen would both be a major upgrade on Watmore. Larsen looks a bit more physical, Riis looks a bit more lively. I’d take either - or both!
