Gibson: "Yes! we can sell loads of shirts and he can help out at Ramsdens on a Saturday afternoon"

I know it's controversial but I think the current McDonald strategy is spot on.
McDonald's remaining contract is worth over 3 million over the next two years and if it takes a match day freeze out to move him on then so be it. Business is business.
He refused Saudi offers from Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad which is understandable, but if he lowers his wage expectations he can definitely get game time elsewhere.
Main and Williams are exciting and part of our future and McDonald is part of our past which we can not afford. As plenty of people have said there may well be other issues at play here affecting team spirit (note the McDonald-less post match huddle last night).
I do think he'll get some game time in-between transfer windows to keep him in the shop window so to speak, but even if we moved him on for £0.00 it would still be a sensible bit of business in my opinion.

After the Bury game Mogga said:
"I sit there at the end and I think it's a bit young still and a bit inexperienced around the top end of the pitch. But we'll try and address that in the next few weeks if we can."
So I guess Arca's edged on the team sheet to add that 'experience'. At least Haroun will have more license to bomb on forward and if we're looking a bit flat or go behind, I'm sure Arca will be whipped off for Carayol or Reach very quickly.
I'd rather have Carayol/Reach starting but in Mogga we trust 'n all that. UTB.

Just sharing a few thoughts on some remaining transfer business...
Castelen: I think Mowbray will do this deal as late as possible to evaluate his fitness.
McEachran: With Sam Hutchinson's Chelsea loan move to Forest widely announced today, hopefully Chelsea are concluding all loan business as the season starts proper and we'll know one way or the other very soon.
Fuller vs Morison: Morison for me if we had a choice. I don't think Fuller ticks all the boxes for Mogga's Riverside Revolution. I think an additional striker will be signed to pressurise McDonald in to leaving in order to get game time to reach his goals (or lack of) with Australia (which is a tactic I agree with). For that reason I don't think we'll see much of McDonald before the transfer window shuts with others getting their chances.

Thanks all for an enjoyable season - this forum does make match days and the time in-between all the more entertaining.
I'm sure we'll be back stronger next year - hopefully for a champagne promotion season.

Exactly. That's what I was going to say actually. Regardless of the outcome, it's just nice to be at the business end of a season genuinely competing for something.
