  1. Hi everyone. Long time no speak. Coburn will be prem quality in a season or so why can't we just have faith in our academy? Hackney has basically bossed an u21s game on his own in CM yet I've heard ppl say he's poor. Remember when ppl said Tav was *** and we should loan him out a few months before he started doing well in the prem. Yet Sporar who couldn't lace their boots up was a terrace hero. What a crazy mindset our fans gave
  2. It's absolutely not. It's highlighting that his decisions, positioning, pace and height aren't good enough. At the end of the day it happened so now its not his fault he's too slow etc so he can't be blamed for that as its outside of his control? I don't see your point
  3. Poor header then charging out past half way vs WBA left us 3on4. Totally outmuscled and beaten to the ball on the corner vs QPR. Didn't get close enough to willock or Berge for the goals vs QPR and SU. Was left for dead in about 7 yards of space against SU. Toral donkey challenge against QPR to get sent off. You never seen any of that no?
  4. He hasn't tho really has he? He should have done better for both of WBA goals. He put in a decent performance against Stoke up against two poor forwards if we're being honest and both walked away with a goal contribution. He's had one acceptable performance in 4 games where we have conceded 8 goals the other 3 he's cost us. It's no good playing well for 85 minutes a game but in the other 5 minutes costing the team a goal and giving away chances. That will happen because he's not physically good enough to play the role in our formation. I don't see how he will improve unless we drastically chan
  5. Force his way back in!!! We have conceded 8 goals in 4 games and his replacement has been at fault for at least 4 of them as well as getting a straight red. I think wilders judgement on who is right for his 'system' is hugely overrated by some.
  6. Not really. If we hadn't been poor for a sustained period I'd probably accept his judgement a little bit more but forgive me if I'm annoyed that a manager who hasn't been getting the best out of the team at all is causing one of our best players to be unhappy and more than likely sold. Just another example of this brilliant man management from clough reincarnated.
  7. Well if you think a fella with no pace and no height and with questionable positioning sense is going to provide a solid base to a defence which plays a high line where at least one of the cbs is going to be out of position on counter attacks then fair enough but I don't. I don't need half a season to see it. He's not right for the system as it stands now and the chances are we won't be changing tactically. Fry had a good season last year and has been dropped and is possibly being sold and I personally think its a joke.
  8. Not really from what I've seen so far Lenihan is going to cost us many more goals this season because he's too small and too slow. We have a much better cb that is a fan of the club and has never wanted to leave being forced out because the manager is an arrogant *** with a far too high opinion of himself and his ability.
  9. Clearly being forced out by a bellend of a manager that doesn't appreciate him. He prefers a midget running in treacle because he completes 80% of his 5 yard passes as oppose to 70%. Doesn't matter that we concede shed loads of goals. If he goes I can see this being one of them where we all look back head in hands and talk about what a shocking decision it was. Seems to me the only chance we have of keeping Fry long term is if there's no suitable offers now and Wilder is gone before January.
  10. They have won their last 2 home games scoring 5 whereas we have conceded 5 in 2 away games and are incompetent defensively. I don't see how we should be heavy favourites personally. If they don't sit off us like Stoke did I'm not even expecting a good performance. In the 18 league games that Ince has been in charge of Reading we have only picked up 1 more point than them (21&20) and that's as you say with a better squad without the financial woes. Our better manager isn't really doing a better job at the moment is he really?
  11. 29/10 for a Reading win today. Mad odds given the starts of both teams if I wasn't a Boro fan I'd be all over that. Obviously the bookies have seen something in us. I'm not expecting a good result today personally. I just don't see that shambles of a defence being able to keep a clean sheet any time soon.
  12. I don't think I can agree. I think over the summer hes identified Mcnair as the weak link in the defence last season which is why he's not been near it this season. It was something to me that was obvious and I thought it made sense that he moves into midfield as he's better suited there and it looks as though that's happening. I think he's done well in midfield so far personally. That shocker against Stoke on the edge of the box just underlines why he shouldn't be in defence things like that were too common last season from him also. Unfortunately the two players brought into the d
  13. Thats what your supposed to do every time the opponent is within 30 yards of the goal. Didn't you know?
  14. It hasn't. It worked for 4 seasons in 3 different leagues until it got sussed out and its been fairly *** ever since.
  15. I agree. I think howson could play either side if needed also. I don't know if Wilder wants a DM tho if I'm honest. I also think Fry and a new LCB will make a big difference especially if there's somebody more available centrally to take the ball when our defence is in possession. One thing I notice about howson is that he doesn't make himself available enough in our own half.
  16. They were given the ball at the edge of the box by mcnair and 3 touches later its in the back of the net. The first our cb is left 1vs2 from one pass when we lose the ball in their half. A poor goal conceded against WBA where we give the ball away on half way and the cb charges out leaving us 3vs4. 2 poor goals conceded against QPR from a shocking mistakes from set peices leaving men free and our goal gaping and a shocking OG against Sheff Utd. Can you tell me when our opponents have gifted us such luxuries? Both of our goals yesterday came from good build up play with several passes ma
  17. It wasn't a great chance he was quite wide of the goal and the ball played whipped in low to him. To score that would have been an amazing finish as he didn't have alot to aim at. I agree with mcgree but it's been clear for some time his best position is 10. It probably means we need one less forward now or we sell Watmore, Akpom or both if he's wanting to play mcgree there regularly moving forward.
  18. I disagree in the fact that if you look at our goals scored we tend to have to work hard to get them through good play and the goals we concede the opposition barely has to do anything because we are so open and disorganised. It's poor management. If you have to sacrifice so much defensively just to create a few chances with the likes of Jones and Giles in the team then your doing something wrong imo.
  19. At the end of the day it's results that ultimately count. As a msnager wilder needs to get us sorted defensively so we aren't looking like conceding every time a team comes forward against us, as well as scoring enough goals to win enough to get us in the top 6. We need balance. Throwing most of the team forward and playing defenders who pass but aren't great at defending is all well and good but your going to concede too many goals and lose too many points. Ultimately regardless of last night's performance the end result isn't good enough and could have been worse. I really don't see how this
